This is the Prayer from 4/8/16

We sat in silence watching the steam gently waft upward from my coffee. Cumulus clouds hanging low in the sky like giant cotton balls. A few stars sparkled above, in the midnight blue. The morning after a heavy rain leaves the world around you so clean. You can smell the freshness in the air. This is His world, the day is drawing neigh when He will return to claim it. His advice to us, 'Be ready, do not return for belongings.' Be prepared to return to our Lord.

We ponder what it will be like when Jesus returns. We have heard sermons, we have read the Word, but in truth we have only our imagination to picture it, and our faith to trust it will be. Revelation tells us what we will find in the New Jerusalem, "the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass." Pure gold, men fight, cheat, and kill because of greed for something we will find paving the street. Rest assured our Lord loves us more than golden streets, we are His children.

Lift your face to the East, He will come like the rising sun. He is the Son, the Son of glory, our Savior, our King, our God. When He returns, the earth will shake in its foundations. All things, great and small, will bow down in worship, glorifying the true God of heaven and earth. The fanfare of trumpets will be deafening, believers will rejoice with melodious hosannas and hallelujahs. What a day that will be, do not fear, just trust and believe. We offer a prayer of praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

Verse of the Day for Wednesday, October 4, 2017:

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. — Psalm 34:4

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

Have you sought the LORD lately? Many of us made a commitment to turn all of our lives over to him last week; how have you done at that commitment? God promises wisdom to those who ask and don't doubt. Have you asked for wisdom recently? Let's join our hearts together, and with the Spirit's help, let's seek our Father so that we can honor and glorify him, finding our blessing in his presence.

My Prayer...

Majesty on high, the Holy One of Israel, my Father and my God, I seek you with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength. I want to know you more completely. I want to fully respond to your leading and your will in my life. Be near me today. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Lord, I ask that first forgive me my sins.
Then I ask that You help me to be more obedient and not so head strong.
Help me to be an adored, blessed child.
These things I ask in the name of my beloved Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

That's a fact you can count on, but sometimes I wonder what do I do that makes me important to Him?
I want to make Him important to others I come in contact with.
Lead me Lord, I need You. Amen

This is the Prayer from 4/9/16

Remember when a man would see a lady approaching, and he would hold the door for her? As she passed through, she would say 'thank you.' The Lord is holding open the door to this new day for you. As you pass through, be sure to acknowledge His presence, invite Him to walk with you. Pay attention, you may be surprised at the times He leads you in a way that you avoid a potential accident. Always be ready to show your gratitude. He appreciates hearing your 'thank you's.'

Remember when your child came racing in to hand you a bouquet of weeds? Weeds they may be, but they represented a hand full of love, a treasured gift, equal to roses in your heart. Little cards, they made at school, came home to be tucked away in a memory drawer. When you attended their recitals, they would eagerly scan the audience looking for you. Just as we cherished these shared moments with our dear children, the Lord cherishes the moments when we invite Him to join in our activities.

Remember when you watched your child walk down the aisle to graduate, or to marry, and move forward in their life as an adult? With a big smile, a heart full of pride, a tear in your eye, and a lump in your throat you had to accept they were moving on. Yet, you knew you would be hearing from them in the good times, and even more in the sad times. The Lord is always ready to hear from us, to receive praise in our good times, and to comfort us in our sad times. Lord, we ask that You walk with us, keep us safe, share our day, in Jesus name we pray. Amen

Verse of the Day for Thursday, October 5, 2017:

Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. — Psalm 34:5

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

We are like the moon; the glory we show is the reflection of the greater life in our lives that does not originate in us but is a blessing to others through us. Look to God for your hope, your strength, your values, your foundation, your security, and your light.

My Prayer...

Father, I look for you and to you. Be near me as I face challenges and temptations. Don't let the evil one bring me shame because of my sin and weakness. Triumph over evil in my life for your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.

When we look to Him, rely on Him, we receive that little nudge that tells us - "Don't go there."
Listen to Him, He speaks softly, so listen intently, and follow His advice.
Amen
