As all tests of this nature, your gender and age play a role. Time wise, I am not sure.... it did not take me long to run through the test...
perhaps 5 minutes total. But, I have an unusual memory and I may have seen the questions in the past.

It must be a combination of correct answers as well as the speed with which you complete the test, based on your age. I am 66 years old. I got all questions right but I only scored 138. Time must be a major factor because I took about 15 minutes to answer the question about the number of squares in the diagram. I had to draw it out to count the squares because every time I tried to mentally count them I would come up with a different amount and couldn't remember which squares I missed from one time to the next. I had to draw the diagram and deconstruct it to count all the squares accurately. However, I would say this test is fairly accurate because my actual IQ is 136.
It must be a combination of correct answers as wel... (show quote)

I took about twenty minutes and got all the questions correct. I did have to spend 15 minutes on the "number of squares in the diagram" but the rest of the problems I completed in about 5 minutes. Did you miss any questions? I suspect you got them all correct. Go back and do it again, as fast as possible, and see if you score improves. I bet it will.

I think there is an easier way to check how many rectangles there are in the diagram besides trying to count them. If I remember correctly, I think it is the number of distinct line segments that you can count equals the number of squares. It has been decades since I have though about this but it seem like something I learned back in high school (Euler's rule or some such thing?). Are there any mathematicians out there who can confirm this?

I got a big fat 141. My eyeballs went crosseyed counting those four sided figures and the finger/hand leaf/twig analogy was a little weak. How much better can you do, I'm reasonably certain those were the two I missed.

Your score is nothing to be ashamed of.... there is so much more to intelligence than the ability to take a stupid on line IQ test.
The quiz was only for fun. I often post links to quizzes...they mean nothing, they are only a break away from the stress of what is in the news!

Bobby,

You liked that one.... try this one. A little tougher, at least for me. It is history.
