I'm reading a book by a Mike Lofgren called "The Deep State". To tell the truth I find the deep state reassuring. There are a lot of sharp people working to keep the USA free and making big bucks while doing so. This Lofgren does wonder however if Anti-Intellectualism will bring down the deep state. Interesting theory and up to the minute. We can all agree that Trump if nothing else is anti-intellectural.
