God allowed it, just like He allowed polygamy, and at some point He expected us to evolve beyond it. Such things were how people survived in ancient times. God endorsed neither. Read it for yourself. If the Hebrews kept slaves they were to treat them well and if a slave did not want to leave (Many "slaves" were the equivalent of indentured servants who bought passage to America) they were to be, adopted, in a sense. You look at it through the eyes of a person who can go to the grocery store and stock up on a month's worth of food if you want, or just for an ice cream. You can go to the hospital and get the best of care. There are first responders who can protect you from criminals and disaster. Folks who lived back in the day might have found servitude better than the alternative...life in a cold world with no protection and no shelter.
In any event, Jesus kept no slaves and at whatever point in history God began prodding Christians to combat slavery, that's exactly what they did.

No. I study the Bible and share what I find in it. Nothing more. In no way did I suggest slavery was anything other than evil. I'm suggesting you broaden your perspective and gain a little more insight. No point in hating God for allowing us to do what we wanted to do and would do. As for the Pope...that's a whoooole different discussion! He will be the number 2 badguy in history someday very soon.
As for the Muslims; they have a part to play in WWIII. Supposedly it will start in the Euphrates River Valley, and ta da! Look at the gathering party!

I think your chronology is way off but no matter. Seems we both believe the end times are near. In Biblical time that could be next year or a hundred years. I personally think it's much closer because the fulfillment of many prophecies is coming faster and faster.

I think Trump is about to make an interim peace deal between the Israelis and Palestinians. If it contains these 4 elements, which I read in prophecy, we have 7 years until the end of human government:
1) The Palestinians (and others) will formally recognize Israel's right to exist.
2) The Palestinians will be given the West Bank (Judea and Samaria)
3) The Temple Mount will be shared, probably under UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
4) The issue of Jerusalem will be put off for a prescribed period of time...probably 7 years. We'll see.
Abbas and Netanyahu are meeting with Trump in a short time. Abbas has already been to Washington once. I could go on and on about who has been meeting whom. It would take a long time to chronicle what just Jason Greenblatt has been doing.
Iran, you see, is rapidly going to develop a true nuke (they can already do up a mean dirty bomb, and everyone near them knows it), they're palling with the Russians, and of course, the Shia/Sunni thing. Iran is providing the...er...encouragement for the Sunnis to be willing to deal. They want America's muscle; Israel is America's little buddy, so if you want America's muscle you better not pick on his little buddy. Not to mention that little buddy has the most badass military in the region...and will help...and is in a buffer zone between Shia and Sunni.
Trump is working on a regional peace deal. A lot of it has already been agreed to. Trump wrote the Art of the Deal and calls a Mideast peace agreement the Ultimate Deal. He also won the Presidency despite everything. This may be the only reason he won.
I felt history...speed up...a while back. Now I'm seeing why.

Yeah Mike! The Israeli and the Palestinians and all the rest of the islamic bunch have been making deals since Carter and clinton. We could talk about the lost tribe of the Jews and then talk about Joe Smith and the Book of Mormon also the edgar casey and on and on.
