If you were in an airport and a drug sniffing dog began sniffing you bags and you shot the dog don't you think the policeman would consider that obstruction. That's what Nixon was going to be I'm impeached for. But I'm convinced that Trump, in the bizarre way he reversed himself and suddenly fired Comey, has created at least one Nixonian outcome: It is inevitable the probe of Trump and the Russians will end up in the hands of a special prosecutor. It will happen because Washington still has a few prominent Republicans with the guts to tell Trump that a special prosecutor's investigation is their best, and probably only, hope for regaining America's trust.

Trump praised him when he re opened the Clinton email case but in March Comey testified before a Congressional Committee that the Trump campaign was under investigation he was as good as gone after that

He, James Comey, told America that Hillary was not guilty, when he should have presented his evidence to the justice department and allowed then to decide. I retired in 1995 and set out to find out how the modern conservative managed to kill the progressive movement that had began in 1892 with the founding of the Peoples Party and ended in 1972 with the defeat of George McGovern by Richard Nixon in a landslide. It took me quite a few years to find the answers to how, why and when did it start for some years I blamed it on Ronald Reagan but found in researching, reading, and study that it was the result of a backlash to the chaos of the 1960's and it the start could be identified as officially started with the Lewis Powell memo to the US Chamber of Commerce on August 23 1971 titled "Attack on American Free Enterprise " less than two months before he was nominated to serve as associate justice on the US Supreme court. More research was done fact checking the viral emails that conservatives were emailing every one in their address book that were being originated who knows where with instructions to send to every one on their lists if they agreed. I spent many hours on that account it reminded me of the 15 page tabloid letter I ad received from the RNC in the mid 1990's that drove me out of the Republican party after over 30 years.

A lot of people from Oklahoma have stories that there is native American blood in their family trees and this was case with Elizabeth. I only recently found I had a great grand mother that was Cherokee. She was born in the 1830's when Andrew Jackson drove the Five Civilized tribes over the trail of tears in to Indian territory (present day Oklahoma ) she died in 1860 just before the out break of war between the states. I had always believed my Heritage was Irish, English, and German and was surprised I would never have guessed. And it was 40 years ago that Elizabeth became a law professor at Harvard and we didn't have Ancestry . com and other genealogy firms with the technology to run down family histories

It's not likely that Trump will be impeached since Republicans control every thing and they won't be inclined to impeach their standard bearer. That's why it is imperative that those of us on the left resist even if it means peaceful non violent civil disobedience, demonstrations , and protest marches to let the world know that not all Americans are mentally disabled. other wise give Trump enough rope and he will hand himself.
