Longtime conservative columnist George Will believes that Republican p**********l nominee Donald Trump is hiding his tax returns, to prevent news of his links to Moscow and its ruling oligarchs from emerging in the media during e******n season. It’s no coincidence that Trump hired Paul “the Butcher’s Lobbyist” Manafort, a notorious Putinist, as his campaign manager in June, whose involvement with the pro-Russian billionaires and crime bosses is extensively detailed in the Panama Papers.

Speaking on Fox News, George Will used his famously sharp intellect to suggest why Republican nominee Donald Trump absolutely refuses to release any of his recent tax returns:

“Well, it’s the sort of thing we might learn if we saw the candidates’ tax returns. Perhaps one more reason why we’re not seeing his tax returns because he is deeply involved in dealing with Russia oligarchs and others. Whether that’s good, bad or indifferent, it’s probably the reasonable surmise.”

Following his exile by the American financial community, Trump has been forced to seek unconventional financing after all those bankruptcies he’s filed. It’s increasingly plausible that he’s looking to Moscow to help make up for his enormous debt.

Trump’s clear and public desire to be best friends with Vladimir Putin has been long expressed on both on the Republican P**********l nominee’s twitter account and in many of his statements.

Vladimir Putin’s Russian Federation has grown its military and is flexing its muscles at over a half dozen of our NATO allies, who Trump just announced at the RNC that he would abandon if our bills weren’t paid.

It was Trump’s only new, major policy or political position unveiled during the Republican convention.

George Will quit the GOP in June, when Trump boldly made r****t accusations against federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel for his parents heritage, and his party politely excused their red-faced p**********l candidate who faces a multi-state class-action fraud trial in front of that judge in November for his Trump University s**m. Will doesn’t ‘have a dog in the race’ anymore, and his insightful deduction is the product of decades of reporting for the Washington Post.

Both Bill and Hillary Clinton have released 32 years worth of tax returns. The last Republican nominee for president released two years of returns showing that the multi-millionaire paid a 13% tax rate, waiting until late October before the e******n before proving then-Democratic Senate Majority leader Harry Reid’s public statements that Romney had paid little or no taxes for a decade. Ironically, Romney’s father George began the tradition of extensive release of taxes in P**********l races back in the 1960s.

The Republican Party must own up to the literally insane mistake it has made in selecting a proto-f*****t demagogue for its p**********l nominee without even getting one good look at his tax returns, or raising it as an e*******l issue to vet their candidate before the primary v**es, instead of barely over 100 days before a general e******n.

This George Will quotation applies doubly to political candidates, and provides a fitting conclusion to this report:

“V**ers cannot hold officials responsible if they do not know what government is doing, or which parts of government are doing what.”
No tax return, conflicting statements, association... (show quote)

SHOW OF HANDS: you work side-by-side with people who are much poorer or wealthier than you — and you share your living space with someone from a religion, race, nation or sexual orientation other than your own.
We suspect few adults have their hands in the air. The vast majority of Americans live and work primarily with people much like themselves.
The clearest exception to this demographic homogeneity occurs in academe. It wasn’t long ago that students at our nation’s colleges and universities were predominately white, male and from affluent families. Today, only 44% of college students are men, and 52% are white. Fully 39% of undergraduates come from families with incomes low enough to qualify for Pell Grants. Especially notable, the most selective schools — those with applicant pools large enough to fill their classes many times over — have t***sformed their student bodies, going from among the least diverse to among the most.
In light of all that, no one should be surprised that student unrest has rocked campus after campus over the past year. What began at the University of Missouri quickly spread across the country. Whether public or private, large or small, urban or rural, few were immune.
Were diversity and inclusion easy, other sectors of society might have already succeeded at it. Apartment buildings and suburban enclaves, corporate work teams and boardrooms, the U.S. House and Senate — all would be appreciably more diverse.
The young adults moving onto college campuses over the coming weeks arrive from communities and K-12 systems that are largely segregated by race and by income; they may graduate into jobs and neighborhoods that remain so as well. But while on campus, a daughter of a hedge fund parent may share a room with the daughter of a migrant worker; a straight Republican may room with a gay Bernie Sanders supporter. Everyone is here, and everyone lives together, if not in perfect harmony. Still, for four precious years they share classrooms, bathrooms and, for most, an abiding affection for their future alma mater.
They are part of an ambitious experiment in diverse populations living together. Unlike experiments in medicine or engineering, however, there is little empirical research to guide anyone and no controlling for conditions. On the contrary, the participants have no interest in being controlled or viewed as subjects.
If this academic year is anything like the last, some students will proclaim loudly what a terrible job college administrations are doing to create an inclusive community and will demand change. Others will work with faculty and administrators to advance diversity and facilitate better mutual understanding. Some will do both. Still others will quietly decline to participate by self-segregating or even dropping out.
As college presidents ourselves, of course it is our preference that students collaborate with faculty and administrators rather than occupy offices, shut themselves off from fellow students with whom they disagree, or leave school. But we recognize and accept that these students are coming of age in a time of political, social and economic turbulence unseen in a generation. This year’s p**********l e******n rhetoric only makes things more volatile.
We have less patience with pundits and politicians who opine from gated communities and segregated offices about campus incidents that, for all their notoriety, are utterly unrepresentative of the main points of tension on campuses. For every student who complained about inauthentic ethnic food in the cafeteria, to cite one well-publicized example, exponentially more Asian and Asian American students endured insults and snubs based on jealousy, stereotypes or outright hatred. Likewise, for every example of students demanding safe places or trigger warnings so as to avoid material they consider offensive or upsetting, innumerable L**T students and students of color found themselves in situations where they were affronted or physically threatened.
Social experiments often fail, as any baby boomer who joined a commune in the 1960s can attest. But the efforts currently underway on college campuses to enact the American ideals of opportunity, diversity and unity are noble, and the participants deserve respect for trying to achieve them.
The surprise isn’t that there’s friction on campus these days, but how well this unique experiment actually works.

21 RULES FOR A GOOD OLD AGE

1. It's time to use the money you saved up. Use it and enjoy it. Don't just keep it for those who may have no notion of the sacrifices you made to get it. Remember there is nothing more dangerous than a son or daughter-in-law with big ideas for your hard earned capital. Enjoy the present moment. The sand in the clock may run out at any moment.

2. Stop worrying about the financial situation of your children and grandchildren. You've taken care of them for many years, and you've taught them what you could. You gave them an education, food, shelter and support. The responsibility is now theirs to earn their way.

3. Keep a healthy life with moderate exercise (like walking every day), eat well and get your sleep. It's easy to become sick, and it gets harder to remain healthy. Keep in touch with your doctor, get tested even when you're feeling well. Stay informed.

4. Always buy the best, most beautiful items for your significant other. The key goal is to enjoy your money with your partner. One day one of you will miss the other, and the money will not provide any comfort then. Enjoy it together.

5. Don't stress over the little things. You've already overcome so much in your life. You have good memories and bad ones, but the important thing is the present. Don't let the past d**g you down or the future frighten you.

6. Regardless of age, always keep love alive. Love your partner, love life, love your family, love your neighbor, your surroundings, your country. We are never old as long as we have intelligence and affection.

7. Be proud, both inside and out. Don't stop going to your hair salon or barber. Do your nails, go to the dermatologist and the dentist. Keep your perfumes and creams well stocked. When you are well-maintained on the outside, it seeps in, making you feel proud and strong on the inside.

8. Don't lose sight of fashion trends for your age, but keep your own sense of style. There's nothing sillier than an older person trying to wear the current fashion among youngsters. You've developed your own sense of what looks good on you - keep it and be proud of it. It's part of who you are.

9. Read newspapers, watch the news. Go online and read what people are saying. Make sure you have an active email account and try to use some of those social networks. You'll be surprised which old friends you'll meet. Keeping in touch with what is going on and with the people you know is important at any age.

10. Respect the younger generation and their opinions. They may not have the same viewpoints as ours, but they are the future and will take the world in their direction. Give advice, not criticism, and try to remind them of yesterday's wisdom that still applies today.

11. Never use the phrase: "In my time." Your time is now. As long as you're alive, you are part of this time. You have been younger, but you are still you now, having fun and enjoying life.

12. Some people embrace their golden years, while others become bitter and surly. Life is too short to waste your days in the latter mode. Spend your time with positive, cheerful people, it'll rub off on you and your days will seem that much better. Spending your time with bitter people will make you older and harder to be around.

13. Do not surrender to the temptation of living with your children or grandchildren (if you have a financial choice, that is). Sure, being surrounded by family sounds great, but we all need our privacy. They need theirs and you need yours. If you've lost your partner (our deepest condolences), then find a person to move in with you and help out only if you feel you really need the help or do not want to live alone.

14. Don't abandon your hobbies. If you don't have any, make new ones. You can travel, hike, cook, read, dance. You can adopt a cat or a dog, grow a garden, play cards, checkers, chess dominoes, golf. You can paint, volunteer at an NGO or collect certain items. Find something you like and spend some real time having fun with it.

15. Even if you don't feel like it, try to accept invitations. Baptisms, graduations, birthdays, weddings, conferences. Try to go. Get out of the house, meet people you haven't seen in a while, experience something new (or something old). But don't get upset when you're not invited. Some events are limited by resources, and not everyone can be hosted. The important thing is to leave the house from time to time. Go to museums, go walk through a field. Get out there.

16. Be a conversationalist. Talk less and listen more. Some people go on and on about the past, not caring if their listeners are really interested. That's a great way of reducing the desire to speak with you. Listen first and answer questions, but don't go off into long stories unless asked to. Speak in courteous tones and try not to complain or criticize too much unless you really need to. Try to accept situations as they are. Everyone is going through the same things, and people have a low tolerance for hearing complaints. Always find some good things to say as well.

17. Pain and discomfort go hand in hand with getting older. Try not to dwell on them but accept them as a part of the cycle of life we're all going through. Try to minimize them in your mind. They are not who you are, they are something that life added to you. If they become your entire focus, you lose sight of the person you used to be.

18. If you've been offended by others, forgive them. If you've offended someone - apologize. Don't d**g resentment around with you. It will make you sad and bitter. It doesn't matter who was right. Someone once said, "Holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die." Don't take that poison. Forgive and move on with your life.

19. If you have a strong belief, savor it. But don't waste your time trying to convince others. They will make their own choices no matter what you tell them, and it will only bring you frustration. Live your faith and set an example. Live true to your beliefs and let that memory sway them.

20. Laugh. Laugh A LOT. Laugh at everything. Remember, you are one of the lucky ones. You managed to have a life, a long one. Many never get to this age, never get to experience a full life. But you did. So what's not to laugh about? Find the humor in your situation.

21. Take no notice of what others say about you and even less of what they might be thinking. They'll do it anyway, and you should have p***e in yourself and what you've achieved. Let them talk and don't worry. They have no idea about your history, your memories and the life you've lived so far. There's still much to be written, so get busy writing and don't waste time thinking about what others might think. Now is the time to be free, at peace and as happy as you can be!

Conservative columnist George Will predicted over the weekend that Donald Trump would destroy the Republican Party as it exists today because his campaign strategy was to only attract white v**ers.

According to Will, Trump is a politician in the tradition of segregationist George Wallace because he believes that more "meanness" was needed in public discourse.

"The problem is this," Will told Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday. "Not only are his negatives at 61 percent -- almost double his positives, they are at 32 percent -- but he's appealing entirely to white people."

"[Former Republican p**********l nominee Mitt Romney] got 17 percent -- that's all -- of the non-white v**e," he continued. "Trump, by every measure, would do worse than that. Which means he would not have to get just the 65 percent of the white v**e to win that Ronald Reagan got, sweeping 49 states. He would have to get 70 percent of the white v**e."

Will concluded: "A, it won't happen and B, it would destroy the Republican Party by making it the party of white people."
