Rumitoid, are you so naive to think that if we passed a law, outlaw all guns that that would stop the criminal from getting one? How has making drugs illegal worked for you? Everything anti-gunners are doing is keeping legal honest people from protecting themselves from bad guys, and that includes our illegal government. Our employees swear an oath when elected, or appointed to uphold the Constitution. I don't know where this writer got his information on the 2nd amendment but he sure didn't dig very deep into it. The NRA hasn't rewrote the 2nd amendment. Anyone with the time to study the issue by reading the Federalist Papers, letters, diaries and word meanings of the time will learn the the NRA has hit the nail on the head as to the true meaning and purpose of the 2nd amendment. For many years the Supreme Court avoided ruling on 2nd amendment cases because the government has never been happy with the people being armed. The big reason behind the founding fathers spelling out that a citizen right to bear arms was a safe guard against government grabbing more power than given to them under the Constitution. Exactly what is happening today, and thats why there is such a push right now by Obama and the progressives to re-write history and the Constitution. They are in fear of their citizen bosses having the power to stop them.

The progressives think its more important to punish law abiding gun owners and dis-arm us, violating their oath and the law of the land as it stands. Dan Malloy of Conn. after signing into law some of the worst gun laws in the Country, that won't do a thing to prevent another nut k*****g, but punish honest gun owners and infringe on their 2nd amendment.
