YES!

Why would you use a quote from a f*****t dictator to define liberty?

Agreed. It may seem as though insulting someone you disagree with is going to discourage them and further your point of view. In actuality, insults encourage the insulted to get more belligerent until everyone involved gets lost in an escalating and pointless war of words. There really are more important things to discuss in politics than how sorry you think someone you disagree with is.

I've just read a little about this. Apparently it's going to have the same job l***hing effect as NAFTA. I'd like to know what everyone here has to say about it. I also have a couple of questions.

1) Does anyone here think the T***s Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a good thing?

2) Who is supporting it in our government?

I've never played an online game that didn't remind me of the phrase, "Hell is other people". That includes building games with no PvP.

The internet = you + your IQ - your IQ.

Reading back, I see you are correct. I guess I shouldn't have skipped lunch....

Our country is now experiencing hard times; it is primarily due to the politicians running the country and reigning over the populace.

It's certainly not as easy as it was when I younger and I'm only 37. But even though I am poor (by choice of being a full time student), I can still afford lots of neat stuff right now. I'm sure it can get alot worse than this.

Yes indeed. If the liberal/conservative clash is the best political exchange we can come up with, our country is in for some hard times.

You sound frustrated,,,, I began this forum trying to be fair,, like you are now,,, after insults to even my dog,, and threats to my family etc,,,, I gave up,,,, and realized that the left has a preconceived notion of their superiority,, that tends to make them arrogant and condescending,,, case in point when the latest post starts our with "Conservatives h**e, gays, poor, healthcare, clean air and water,," and then proceeds to ask a question on the basis of that premise..

Then the poster gets indignant, and claims she cant get a "decent/civil discussion" from people with closed minds..!!??!!

When you start out calling people stupid, they react, and resent it. The rest of the planet is tired of the abuse the left dishes out, disguised as their superior intellect..and civility.

Like I said to alicia, I can no longer feel sorry, or even remotely concerned how the left perceives the swinging of the pendulum,,,, they asked for it.

Sometimes, when you call down the thunder,,,, thunder actually shows up.... enjoy the conflict you created, left wing america.
You sound frustrated,,,, I began this forum trying... (show quote)

Look at any 5 pages of topics and count the number of threads that say "Conservatives are evil, etc." and the threads that say "Liberals are evil, etc.".

Are you sure it's only "left wing America" that is creating this conflict?

They are Cults you know one can pick bits and pieces to make everyone think they are Christians but when closer examination one can see right thru them unless they're saying what the hearer wants to hear.

Take Jim Jones for instance his followers were walking right in step with him till he ordered them to drink poison then they started thinking on their own and balked , sadly they were murdered !
Absolutely nothing to do with true Christianity !

There are plenty of completely Christian cults dude. Christianity was itself once a cult (though that's slightly beside the point).

The main thing is, these extremists have nothing to do with your own faith. There's no need to distance yourself from them. They would not want anyone to think they are associated with you either.

First, the obvious. People identify bankers with the global financial crisis. It could be random folks getting aggressive.

Now, the less obvious. That's definitely a conspiracy level of murdering going on. But I don't see how an organization would benefit from k*****g people who, in the wider scheme of things, merely handle money. That is, unless their goal is to destroy those who handle money. This could be the work of anti-economy terrorists.

They could want only to destroy modern economic systems or they could be trying to manipulate economies for their benefit. Either one would be terrible.

Once more, with all of the birth control options available, a******ns should be a rarity. We are speaking of people who are too damn irresponsible to take the simplest precautions.

I don't know man. Sexual desire is notorious for making the wisest people foolish.

I do agree that condoms at least are widely available. I'm not sure if women's birth control pills are given away as often as condoms are. I also have no idea how much birth control pills cost.

No you are in error these examples given are NOT Christian denominations !

Children of parents who believe in Faith Healing will sit by the bed of a sick or injured child praying for their health until the child dies, refusing medical treatment that would have stopped the suffering or prevented the death. There are LAWS that prevent anyone from coming in and helping their child, since it is an expression of a religious conviction.

Jehovah's Witnesses refuse blood products due to religious convictions and refuse them on behalf of their children as well.

Children of parents of Sign's Following Churches watch their parents handle poisonous serpents and drink strychnine. The kids are kept back away from the area in the tiny churches where this is practiced but they watch as uncles, aunts, patents, etc., express their religious convictions. And they have seen people suffer for days and die in the home for refusing medical attention. Then go to services and watch others (like their Daddy?) handle the same serpent...

Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians. And every faith healer and snake handling church I've ever heard of have all been Christian. The Branch Davidians who were massacred in Waco were Christians. Their ways aren't necessarily about their faith in Christianity, but more about their dedication to exploring religious faithfulness. They are releasing their dependence on worldly experience to live totally by faith. Sort of like swimming with your soul.

Those extremes have their purposes but they aren't for everyone. Young couples and children shouldn't be involved.

I think a better way to ask the question for this forum might be: "Why doesn't everyone want a******ns to be unnecessary?" I think most people want it to be unnecessary. It seems most reasonable people feel uneasy about unconstrained use of a******n, but to make it totally illegal for everyone would be disastrous for a few kinds of cases.

Maybe one way to think of it is similar to divorce. Who gets married thinking they will need to divorce? "In the beginning it was not so, but because of the hardness of the human heart, Moses allowed for divorce. And Jesus allowed for divorce once the marriage covenant was broken.

Our hearts break when we see those kind of photos. I've seen it in person during my training, and I couldn't sleep at all that night! But perhaps we have to suffer the foolish 's**ts' their choice in order for the rare case to have the choice?

No easy answer.
I think a better way to ask the question for this ... (show quote)

Very true. I think the only reasonable solution is to leave the choice available to those who need it. Meanwhile we can do our best to discourage the irresponsible use of that option in cases of convience. Maybe we should be discussing the best way to do that.

Wow. I didn't realize what a can of worms I was opening. I really don't know much about the GMO debate so I tried to find some general unbiased information. Here's some of what I've found.

A good basic overview (On Mother Jones, a liberal-biased website, but apparently political leanings don't matter much on this topic.)

http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2013/08/what-are-gmos-and-why-should-i-care

A more in-depth overview and discussion (The website belongs to a pro-GMO scientist and the article is his pro-GMO opinion. View the video at the top of the page for the unbiased round table discussion.)
