Before I retired, as I mentioned, I was Executive Chef at a busy restauraunt. You would not believe the applications I received from people purporting to be college students. They expect a supervisory job with little or no experience, and functional illiteracy. If you can't read the menu, and I have to do the inventory myself because you cant fill it out, why the hell should I hire you? One poster child for ignorance accused me of not hiring him because he was black. Another accused me of racial preference because I hired a black instead of him. It apparently never occurred to either of them that they remained unemployed because they kant reed or spel.
