I just don't care anymore, you are entitled to your opinions. I think I am done with this whole thing. All I hear are people pissed of, hating others, and generally in a very downer attitude. Never any good news. I'm tired of it all.

Well, I guess wh**ever you said was so unimportant to me that I forgot what you said. Too bad for you.

As none of you know 1 t***h about what is going on, it is amazing how you make it up as you go along, just like a lot of politicians. Wait until you have the facts, Jack.

All I can say is I am glad you are not on my side of anything.

Let’s review the execution of Pvt. Eddie Slovik. Slovik’s offense: desertion in wartime. (See the tie-in?)
Unlike Bowe Bergdahl, who deserted his unit, according to the accounts of his comrades, Slovik never actually deserted. He also didn’t call America a “d********g” country or say he was “ashamed to be an American.”

Slovik was just a chicken.

In October 1944, as Allied forces were sweeping through France, Slovik left his position on the front lines, walked to the rear of his unit and handed a note to the cook, confessing his desertion. The letter explained that he was “so scared” that he had already abandoned his unit once, and concluded: “AND I’LL RUN AWAY AGAIN IF I HAVE TO GO OUT THERE.”

Slovik was like Bradley Manning minus the lipstick and eyeliner.

A lieutenant, a company commander, and a judge advocate all tried to persuade Slovik to shred the letter and return to his unit, warning him that he’d be tried for desertion otherwise. Slovik refused.

In the middle of World War II, the military court-martialed Slovik, tried him, and sentenced him to death.

Allied Supreme Commander Dwight Eisenhower denied Slovik’s pardon request, saying it would encourage more desertions, just as the fighting was getting especially hot. Slovik was executed by firing squad and buried among the numbered graves of court-martialed rapists and murderers in an American military cemetery in France.

Contrast Slovik’s story with the beloved troop whose return just cost us the release of five of the most dangerous terrorists in the world.

Three days before he walked off his base, Bergdahl emailed his parents:

– “I am ashamed to be an american.”

– “The US army is the biggest joke … It is the army of liars, backstabbers, fools and bullies.”
– “These people need help, yet what they get is the most conceited country in the world telling them that they are nothing and that they are stupid.”– “The horror that is america is d********g.”These emails were given to the author of a 2012 Rolling Stone article on the case by Bergdahl’s own parents. The overwrought soldier’s father, Bob, emailed back: “OBEY YOUR CONSCIENCE!” And then, according to the Rolling Stone profile reporting these emails — as well as the Army report on the incident — Bergdahl “decided to walk away.”
Bergdahl’s unit commander, Evan Buetow, told CNN’s Jake Tapper that intercepted Taliban “chatter” soon revealed that Bergdahl was looking for a member of the Taliban who spoke English. (Other than his father.)

Buetow said he couldn’t prove it, but he believed Bergdahl began helping the Taliban attack his own unit. After that, Buetow says, the assaults were much more direct, and Bergdahl would have known the unit’s tactics and how they would respond to an attack.

U.S. forces in the area spent the next two months on a single mission: trying to find Bergdahl. It is beyond dispute that any American k**led during that time was k**led on a mission to “rescue” Bergdahl from his new comrades.

Over the years, the Taliban produced several propaganda videos with Bergdahl — eating, doing push-ups, and criticizing American foreign policy.

During the Vietnam War, POW Navy Vice Admiral James Stockdale disfigured himself so that he could not be used in a propaganda video. He slit his wrists to avoid being tortured for information.

When captured Navy aviator Jeremiah Denton was forced by the North Vietnamese to make a propaganda video, he blinked the word T-O-R-T-U-R-E in Morse code, over and over again, as he said these words:

“I don’t know what is going on in the war now. My only sources are North Vietnamese radio, magazines and newspapers. But wh**ever the position of my government, I agree with it. I support it. I will support it as long as I live.”

It was the first confirmation the U.S. had that the North Vietnamese were torturing POWs.

These men — and many more — had limbs torn from their sockets, their legs and backs shattered by the North Vietnamese. As Denton said of the repeated torture, he’d rather lose an arm than his honor.

When right-wingers get choked up about “the troops,” these are the sort of men we’re thinking of. Not Bowe “America is d********g” Bergdahl.

But to Obama, Bergdahl was the picture of American manhood and military honor.

He released five of the most dangerous terrorists in the world — captured at great cost to our military — in order to give Bergdahl an exit plan from his Great Adventure. (Before he ever set foot in Afghanistan, Bergdahl had told a fellow soldier, “If this deployment is lame, I’m just going to walk off into the mountains of Pakistan.”)

Bergdahl wasn’t being “left behind” or “left on the battlefield.” He was being left where he wanted to be, with the poor, innocent Talibanists, far away from this “d********g” country that made him “ashamed to be an American.”

I'm with you, give things time, they always work out one way or the other. I don't want another war, ever. When we meddle in other's business, we always screw it up.

Well darling, you're not the only one turning 65 as I am also. I agree with a small part of your post (very small) that nobody is going to fall out of the sky to save us, we have to do that ourselves. But, what we need to do is kick all Democrats out of office and let this country run the way it is supposed to without the government telling us how, what, when and where we run our lives. I don't need their intervention well intentioned or not. I have been self sufficient my entire life and have made a bunch of money and live a nice life. So, I'm not inclined to leave my country just because the Progressive C*******t want to take over. We need to take our country back anyway that we can. I like the lifestyle of the Netherlands but only would live there because I have the money to live the way I want. I wouldn't want to live under their socialist government and just survive which is what is going to happen here if we continue down the current Obama path.
Well darling, you're not the only one turning 65 a... (show quote)

How can you be a progressive and a c*******t at the same time? Take your country back to where and what? That is not reality, it is insanity to want to go back to anything or anywhere. We must go forward or stand still until they knock down our doors and it is all over for us. I would prefer a civil war to the present I see around me everywhere. Me, I'm going forward, not sure where or how. If I can't physically, I can always go forward in my mind. No one can take that away.

I do agree we are going down an ominous path, just think blaming 100% of it on Obama is wrong. All this started a long time before Obama came into office. Ronald "fing" Reagan. People talk about how wonderful he was, blah is all I have to say to that.

For me, life doesn't look that grand. My parents are gone, my one child is gone, I left Texas to get away from the humidity and the stupidity. Have managed to spend all the money that was left to me, am ill, can't work, so I am one of those "Entitled" 99%. I live off of social security which I paid for all the years I worked, and a small pension. Oh, and this red state I live in says I get $36 worth of food stamps a month because I have too much money. I'm not getting a lot of that government help everybody keeps talking about. I wish I could get more. I deserve it just like anybody else does. It breaks my heart that I can't take care of myself the way I could, but it is a fact of life for millions of people. Nobody wants charity. Can't find a work at home job that isn't some kind of s**m. In fact, I had to sell almost half of my furniture to pay my car registration this month. Next month I may be living in my car. I am happy for those who have enough to live on nicely. Life didn't turn out that way for me, yet. There is still hope. I do believe the 1% could get along with a little less and helping others just a little bit wouldn't even be a blip on their financial life.

I know we are seriously in trouble. I'm not sure we aren't well past the point of no return, as we are with c*****e c****e.

The only thing that keeps me sane, well partly sane, is knowing that there is a better place I get to go whenever I am ready to go there, hoping I can be a spirit and get to see my son again, and my folks. If all this crap comes falling down on us, I can say bye bye, or not. I just pray to whomever or wh**ever is in control, that I don't have to come back to this planet again, ever.

You don't have to call me darlin', darlin'. Bye Bye, I think I am done here.

I'm not going to do your research for you. Just Google it and you will find plenty of proof of the Government spending and obtaining tons of ammo for various federal agencies. Some of those sites are government sites. It is a fact that they (the feds) are buying up tons of ammunition for some reason. Now the reasons are speculation because they will not state that they are doing this for k*****g American citizens but why do they need all of this armament? Just use some common sense.

Just because it is on the internet does not make it true. It most likely makes it false, just like every other part of the media.
The feds are probably doing just what you say, it is either for defense or offense, maybe both.

Why do anarchist groups all over the country need all of the armaments they are stockpiling? offense or defense, probably both.

I have been saying for years (well, at least since Bush II's e******n was bought the first time), that we are headed for another civil war. Personally, I think we need a March on Washington equivalent to Martin Luther King's, even bigger. I am turning 65 on June 2, whoopee, happy birthday to me, and I would go for that right now!!!!!

We need to kick out every single Republican in office, and half of the Democrats who are really just R's pretending to be D's. Oh yeah, let's not forget about the Religious Right Tea Party.

These bible thumping fanatics are sure that God wrote the bible because He is a person up there in the clouds and will be sending Jesus back down any day now to k**l off all those who don't believe exactly the same way they do. Sorry, that is a whole subject of its own, don't want to get started on that right now.

I'm just s**k of the whole thing. Sometimes writing here helps get a lot of stuff out that I can't discuss with friends or families without having a knock down d**g out fight. After a bit, I just get so tired of the whole thing and if I had enough money I would move to Canada or to some country we don't care about at all. For some reason, I haven't left yet, so maybe there is still hope that one day, every person on this planet will become "enlightened" at once and can live together in peace, love and harmony. One can hope, right?

Where do they get their authority? The same place Bush got it, by making up his own rules as he went along.

I'm not sure you have your facts straight. The anarchist's are the many organizations who are buying up guns and anything else they can to, perhaps as they would put it, to fight the government and innocent civilians when they believe they are losing power.

Just look at the way these Anarchists showed up to help Cliven Bundy keep "his" land and cattle. As far as I know, they are reported to still be there with their AK47's, stopping people going to and from work and demanding to see their identity papers, as if they were the law. They are not the law. They are people like you, just waiting for something to happen so you can say "I told you so, the government started it and now we have a good reason to start k*****g anybody who gets in our way".

I am more worried about the hundreds of organizations like these, all over the nation, out in the wilderness, storing up guns and ammo and who knows what else, than I am of President Obama.

You could be right, you could be wrong, or I could be right or wrong. Who cares? My only problem with what you are saying is that you are reporting things without any proof and making people believe they are in more danger than truly exists. You are scaring people so they feel the need to get more guns for themselves and join Anarchist groups. Or start an Anarchist group of their own.

Show me the proof.

It's a little late to be asking how many vets were k**led in our wars that we started for NO GOOD REASON. Scare tactics by our Republican politicians forced these wars on us. Most of us who watch the regular news should realize by now that we have been lied to over and over again and are still being lied to. We have to get these i***ts out of office before we become the new Iraq and the wars are fought here and instead of their innocents being bombed, our innocents will suffer the same deaths. Who gives a s**t about one person who gets a s*x c****e operation? I would rather we care about all the dead and dying soldiers who managed to get back home without being k**led, only to have America not care enough about this, that they commit suicide before they can get medical attention. I am ashamed of my country. So very ashamed. If you are not ashamed, there is something very very wrong with you.

I must ask, how many lives have been saved because we let our young men and women fight and die in Iraq and Afghanistan for over 10 years? How many innocent lives were also taken from Iraq and Afghanistan in the last 10 years? Is this something we celebrate? no. Well, some do celebrate, the ones in power with the most money.

I'm with you, it is a day of mourning. I mourn for the idiocy of our country waging these wars for no reason at all. Oh, except it brought money into our country by America selling more weapons to Iraq and Afghanistan. We fight and k**l our young and their innocents for no other reason than money and power.

That is the reason I mourn.

What makes a "bad" person? What he thinks, says and does? That is the human part of all of us. We all make mistakes, some worse than others. That is all they are, mistakes. The word sin means mistake in Jesus' language, Aramaic. We have to learn to forgive our own mistakes before we can ever forgive anyone else's. If Jesus could forgive being nailed to a cross, I think we can somehow learn to forgive. It does not mean we condone their actions. It just means we know something in them has forced them to believe they are sinners, parents, society, etc. As they feel they are sinners, they do what they believe they are supposed to do as sinners who can't be forgiven.
