Loki, are you insinuating that the L**T community in San Francisco dictates the politics there and in half the rest of California? It's not like they have an agenda, or is it?

The FBI does not make law, the Congress does. Permitting agencies to make law subverts the Constitutionally established tripartite form of government.

The database you desire will only serve to remove gun ownership if the individual had a felony arrest record. None of the mass murderers did. Further, even though some of these people were already on the FBI's watch lists they did nothing to forestall the crimes.

O.K. pafret, you know a lot more about guns than I do. I think that FASTER one pull, one shot practically fits the auto function. I did say that the FBI data base needs to include LUNATICS, not just felons. Where you got the idea that I wanted the FBI to make Laws is beyond me, I simply want the data base to include as many potential k**lers as possible. How about the gun shows? How about the failure of local Law enforcement to fill in the FBI data base. Other than try to impress everyone with your super gun knowledge, your only valid point was that many of the mass murderers were on the FBI watch list and the FBI did nothing to prevent the mass murders. I asked for comments, guess I should have said "Constructive comments"....

I think that we all want to keep guns out of the hands of lunatics, felons, and the like, however, apparently the NRA can make a case for being able to buy nuclear missiles to our esteemed Law Makers.

I would like to get some opinions about this subject so please feel free.

I believe:

1.- That the FBI data Base must be brought up to date and that Laws must be made such that no gun of any kind can be sold or traded without a strict background check being done and adhered to.

2.- That Local Law enforcement must be charged with updating the FBI data base immediately as soon as a lunatic, felon, and so on is identified. Meaning that these people cannot obtain firearms, I think that we all are still asking ourselves how the Florida k**ler was able to buy guns and how the Vegas k**ler could amass so many weapons in a hotel room.

3.- That Laws must be passed to prohibit the manufacture of extended magazines, "bumps" and other forms of material that can change a one-pull, one-shot, weapon into a semi-automatic or fully automatic weapon.

4.- 1, 2, and 3 above must be zealously enforced by the FBI through detailed in-person inspections. I don't care if it will cost a lot of money, use up a lot of man power, etc. etc. it must be air-tight, and even then some will sift through. Making a few toothless Laws is a fruitless endeavor or is Chicago not the city in the U.S. with the most stringent gun Laws and still the murder capital of our country?

My thinking here is that Congress or no one else is going to ban certain weapons nor should they, because keeping any weapon out of the hands of bad guys should be centralized and enforced by the FBI.

I also think that the "K**L" games videos should be looked at very closely since they are "real" to many gamers and once they turn them off and start again the next day, all of the characters dead or alive are back there to do it again1 Is this good for kids?

Please feel free to comment, please make the comments civil so that others can chime in...

Seems like I read an article sometime back which, (paraphrased), stated that the Muslim threat is real, because, Muslim families have a mean average of 8 kids, (all living off the dole), far outstripping w****s, b****s and browns. The article said that due to this fact, within 50 years the Muslims can do a complete takeover just by v****g!
As far as I know Evangelicals for the most part do not live off welfare nor do they behead their infidel enemies. Also I don't believe that the Bible calls for world take over and extermination of supposed enemies.

Not a Government entity! The Central Bank has been around since before the Constitution was ratified by the States! The Federal Reserve is made up of big money bankers from around the World. The Central Bank was given a charter in 1791, the charter has to be renewed every 5 or 10 years, the actual time escapes me. Lincoln did not renew the Federal Reserve charter during his term, printed "Green Backs" within the Government and look what happened to him! Jack and Bobby Kennedy were against the Federal Reserve system and planned to revoke the charter, within 5 years both were dead! Just sayin.

Linda, do your l and o keys get stuck?
I actually saw some telling videos about the Muslims in Dearborn, some walking the streets telling young girls to cover their faces and not to wear skirts. In a parking lot outside of a Muslim "event" people were being screened and turned away in no uncertain terms by the Muslim "crowd control people" because they were not Muslims.

My opinion is that the Muslims are using our laws to undermine us and take over, then you will see Sharia Law and goats in the streets. The Halal label is actually sold by the Muslims to businesses which are bad enough off to want Muslim customers!

Since this thread went from 3/5 negros to guns and then to insults. Wouldn't it be more productive to actually discuss how the US should keep guns out of the hands of those who would murder people in droves?
Question: What is used presently to keep the guns away from the nuts and radicalized k**lers?
The only answer I can come up with is the FBI database.
Question: What is wrong with the FBI database, or do you think that it works just fine?
I don't think that the FBI database works well at all, because:
1.- Loonies like the guy in Texas had all sorts of guns after being dishonorably discharged for beating up his wife and various other assaults along with being locked up as a nutcase!
Obviously his crimes were not reported to the FBI to be added to the database.
I also read an article a couple of years ago that insisted that local Police departments report only about 7% of felons and lunatics to the FBI. Or shall we say garbage, (or nothing) in, garbage out!
In my opinion, each police department MUST, put someone to work, updating the FBI database immediately under certain established rules, even a high school kid could do this with a "cookbook" approach!
2.- There is apparently no connection between gun shops and the FBI, and much less connections between all of the gun shops, otherwise how could the murderer in Vegas collect so many automatic rifles?

Comments please

I have a question about the Vegas slaughter: How did the k**ler buy 18 automatic rifles? As far as I have heard, this point is either a mystery or it is being covered up!
Maybe I am all wet or the background check system that the FBI runs does not include keeping track of someone buying an arsenal without any questions. I do know that the FBI background check system is very unreliable mainly because local Law enforcement does a lousy job of updating the system, or shall we say only about 7% of felonies are reported to the FBI. What is so hard about putting some high school or college kid on the payroll charged only with updating the FBI immediately as to nut cases and felons? As far as keeping track of how many weapons and the types, is just as easy and should be done by the gun stores as soon as they sell a gun or guns.....

If you think that the Social Security payments you receive are fair, read this!

NEW SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS
Keep in mind that a self employed person pays the full 15% in Social Security.

A woman died at age 65. She paid into the system for almost 50 years and collected NOTHING?

Keep in mind all the people that die every year that were paying into the system and got nothing!

And these governmental morons mismanaged the money and stole from the system, so that it's now going broke.

BEAUTIFUL!

And they have the audacity to call today's seniors "vultures" in an attempt to cover their ineptitude.

DISGRACEFUL!
The real reason for renaming our Social Security payments is so the government can claim that all those social security recipients are receiving entitlements thus putting them in the same case as welfare, food stamp recipients.

THIS IS WORTH THE FEW MINUTES IT TAKES TO READ AND DIGEST!

F.Y.I.  By changing the name of  SS contributions it gives them a means to refute this program in the future. It's free money for the government to spend under this guise.

It is really sad to think that most people will just roll over and accept this as if there is nothing that can be done, but maybe there is if we make a little noise about our displeasure with what they have done to today's retirees.   I will pass this on!!!!!

The Social Security check is now (or soon will be) referred to as a *Federal Benefit Payment*?

I'll be part of the one percent to forward this. I am forwarding it because it touches a nerve in me, and I hope it will in you.

Please keep passing it on until everyone in our country has read it.
The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a "Federal Benefit Payment."

This isn't a benefit. It is our money paid out of our earned income!  Not only did we all contribute to Social Security but our employers did too. It totaled 15% of our income before taxes.

If you averaged $30K per year over your working life, that's close to $180,000 invested in Social Security.

If you calculate the future value of your monthly investment in social security ($375/month, including both you and your employers contributions) at a meager 1% interest rate compounded monthly, after 40 years of working you'd have more than $1.3+ million dollars saved!

This is your personal investment. Upon retirement, if you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per month.

That's almost three times more than today's average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration. (Google it – it's a fact).

And your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you're 98 if you retire at age 65)! I can only imagine how much better most average-income people could live in retirement if our government had just invested our money in low-risk interest-earning accounts.

Instead, the folks in Washington pulled off a bigger *Ponzi scheme* than Bernie Madoff ever did. (Lyndon Johnson)

They took our money and used it elsewhere. They forgot (oh yes, they knew) that it was OUR money they were taking.  They didn't have a referendum to ask us if we wanted to lend the money to them.  And they didn't pay interest on the debt they assumed. And recently they've told us that the money won't support us for very much longer. (Isn't it funny that they NEVER say this about welfare payments?

But is it our fault they misused our investments?  And now, to add insult to injury, they're calling it a *benefit*, as if we never worked to earn every penny of it.

Just because they borrowed the money, doesn't mean that our investments were a charity!

Let's take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security and Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into our government.

Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going for the sake of that 92% of our population who need it.

Then call it what it is:  Our Earned Retirement Income.

Yes Kemmer, Bush got elected twice and we endured one war for oil, and a second one for drugs. On a like note we elected JFK and got Lyndon Johnson and the Vietnam war which, according to the party line, was to stop the spread of c*******m. All in all Vietnam was a sham, a disgrace, and changed the face of warfare. No longer were the battle lines defined, no longer could you find the enemy and k**l him, but he could find you! 51,000 plus dead service men and countless lives ruined!

This thread has brought up some great thoughts such as SCOTUS making up Laws.
1.- Tell me please how SCOTUS could approve the ACA by calling it a "Tax", when the framers thought they were building a terrific new Health Care Law and Oh, by the way, 25 new or increased existing taxes?
2.- Tell me how SCOTUS could wave a magic wand and reword the subsidy portion of the 3,300 page debacle called the ACA, to cover everyone?
3.- Tell me how SCOTUS could ratify the Act that counted LLC's and Corporations as people rather than cash machines allowing big business to pepper money all around to get the people elected that they wanted elected, anonymously?
4.- Lastly, how can SCOTUS be comprised of Justices selected for their political leanings? It makes absolutely no sense to me that a Judge at that level, should harbor any Liberal or Conservative background at all, Judges are not politicians as far as I know, oh, I get it, I am an i***t who thinks that a Judge at any level should be unbiased and incorruptible. My bad!
