Ronald Reagan preached the evils of government for years - no one seemed to listen

It seems to me that , since politicians are merely PEOPLE, it MUST be the power they get once elected, that turns them into wh**ever being they become. It is not only the huge companies, but different associations also, that have somehow gotten too much power. Since this power is NOT v**ed on to be given to them, exactly how do they GET it? By trampling on the rights of the very people who PAY THEM, and who they are SUPPOSED to be working FOR. I think it is time for everyone to BAND TOGETHER and take these powers from them. I just don't know how to go about it. But I DO know that if we ALL decided on a plan , and followed through with ht, they cannot jail, or harm us all. We fought against one tyrant and won, we CAN win again.....as ONE.

One may try growing a thicker skin so to speak. I to have been criticized and been called names as have others on here. After all there is a natural progression here you state an idea or wh**ever and someone disagrees with your idea and states their idea. OK if we left it there it would be fine. But we as humans can't leave it there can we? We have to fight for our idea be it good or be it bad. After awhile we start calling people names, you are still an individual and you can choose to either coll people names or not your choice. I choose not to and will stop answering name callers and disregard their remarks. Does it do any good I don't know you would have to ask them. If someone else joins in on that forum that does not call names I will answer them and not the name caller. Hopefully after awhile maybe people will get the message.

That seems to be a pretty good strategy hahaha SOUNDS right any way.

There's plenty of bad to counterbalance the good. Happy hunting

I decided to stick around a while and just listen in. See how much I can learn anyway. I just wish we could all learn to be civil and not mistrust people so but I also guess there is plenty of reason , on ALL SIDES not to. I don't know how to change that because you cannot MAKE people have ethics, and you can't MAKE them be honest. :?:

Sorry to hear that, but I don't see why we should have to stand by and be painted as things we are not,,,, I have been abused since signing on, and cannot seem to get some folks to lighten up,,, but I am going to keep try ing.

I would like to think there could at least be an equal exchange of ideas. I have found, since becoming independent, that both sides want , basically, the same thing , or they are so close it can't be called. It's just that both sides express things in ways the other ASSUMES to understand...but don't,...and rather than ASK what was the meaning they just continue to ASSUME ( and you KNOW what THAT does!! ) they already know what the other person meant because they have preconceived ideas of what they are going to say and mean , and are not willing to LISTEN and FIND OUT if they are correct in their assumptions. As long as the Nation is so devided because of these silly, often really STUPID, preconceived notions, we will NEVER be able to have an exchange of ideas that actually get anything DONE. PLEASE!!!!! I am BEGGING you. Set aside the thinks you ALREADY KNOW about other parties and take the time to get to KNOW how they express themselves and what they REALLY mean when they say certain things. And if you DON"T KNOW what they mean, politely ASK them for an explanation. WHAT is SO HARD about doing that? We are all anonymous on here , so even if you were to meet the person you are talking / listening to;o tomorrow neither would KNOW the other . We MUST come together here or we will all be no more.

I guess I was wrong about this site. I told a dear friend this morning that I had found a site where both major parties actually seemed to be talking and LISTENING. After reading the posts after I signed out last night I see i was wrong, and there is truly nothing new here. I am disappointed but will move on and continue my search. :( :( :(

Just wanted to take a moment of your time to introduce myself:
I am a newbie, just joined today, and I need first to read and learn. I have my views and my thinking but I can be persuaded to listen to clearer heads than mine. To Ve'hoe : Back 5 or 6 'Grands' my Grandmother was a full Cherokee. Don't know if that makes me anything but proud, and will be terribly glad to get to know you as well as the others on here. I am scared to death of what is going on with ALL politicians today, the farce that is this mess in Syria , ...and of Obama.
I hope I don't get booted off for what I am about to say but it does at least show I can learn. I am a former Democrat who has switched parties, but neither am I a Republican, rather an Independent. I really don't hold out much hope for either party at this point because both are so convinced THEIR view is the ONLY correct one. B ut the way I see it, the only correct one is the view that we are all on this planet and what one does severely effects all the others and if we can't get the current powers OUT of power, and actually LEARN something from the fiasco that is playing out even now, We will soon have a self proclaimed king in power and we will all be serfs to that one. Thanks for listening.
