To My family and friends. AN URGENT PLEA!

On April 18, 2023. I will be 98 years old. And like
I did it on my 97th. birthday, it is my intention to
go to the Alameda Aero Club at the Oakland
International Airport and take my wife Vicky
and a friend flying in a Cessna 172. And with
all good luck, it is my wish to do it again at age
100.

I have accomplished many things in my life that I
am very proud of, culminating as a Test Pilot on
the Apollo Project (The Lunar Landing). I have
traveled extensively, but I have one outstanding
thing on my bucket list that I have yet to do. I
Have NEVER been to Europe.

As a Retired Navy veteran who joined the military
before WWII started, then served for 30 years,
(twenty active and 10 in the fleet reserve), I am
wishing to fill my bucket list by getting someone
to sponsor me and my wife to the next celebration
of our landing on the beach in Normandy.

Any individual or veteran’s group who might know
how this final dream can be turned into a wish come
true, is asked to contact me by postal mail, email,
or by calling directly to 510-541-6154.
