As long as my motivations stay where they're at right now, I should be able to help a lot of people. I'd like to see American return to the Teddy Roosevelt-era "Rugged Individualism" where the government was terrified of how badass the everyday person was.

I think the article linked is fairly alarmist, I wouldn't take it at its word, as evidenced when it mentions that Trump threatens to drop "The Bomb". Trump is trying to pull out of the deal because it leaves us with two realistic outcomes: Either the EU backs Iran and the US is more isolated from the rest of the world, which many Americans would see as a return to form for the US a la the days of President Washington, President Theodore Roosevelt, or President Monroe, or the EU falls out of the treaty as we did and Iran gets s**t on because of it. Both of these outcomes work in America's favor and he is, in my mind, testing the loyalty of the West to itself and the limits of American influence whilst also rearranging the pieces on the board to give us a better bargaining hand. I don't want to call it a brilliant move, but I believe he is making the best of a fairly bad situation that President Obama left us in.

I've been an on-and-off user of OPP for maybe 3-4 years, just made a new account so I can start fresh and hopefully get back into it. I'm currently active duty in the World's Finest Navy (E-3) and looking to enter politics or some form of public service after I get out of the military, and I thought the best way to improve myself in my debating capabilities and my ability to articulate exactly what I believe and more importantly why I believe it is to speak, and OPP has provided that for me in the past and hopefully continues to do so in the future.
