It would appear this persons desire to strip citizens is stronger than objective fore thought in what that outcome really means.

Tunnel vision often limits the "big picture." Until THEY need a gun, which I hope never happens but in today's society is not a luxury it is a need!

Let them eat crow when and if they should ever "need a weapon" to defend them self or others. Most of these people would be hiding anyway. Your life isn't anything to them.

My state has just filed a petition to open carry and I believe it will go through with flying colors given the present escalation of violence against police and citizens for that fact. Cops are rightfully gun shy and jumpy right now.Lend support to them is just as much our obligation to them as they give us each day!

Three well known prominent Sheriffs have come out publicly and said arm, load and carry.Tells me they are aware they do not have the means to protect all and want help as well..

I recently read about your daughter, Linda shared her blog page with me .Stand strong and Lord help you all. I will be visiting it later today as well. She is a real trooper!

Okay, how many of you liberals really believe, and agree with Obama, that the following parts of Sharia law are compatible with “everything that we stand for as Americans”?

According to Sharia law:

• Theft is punishable by amputation of the right hand (above).
• Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran is punishable by death.
• Criticizing Muhammad or denying that he is a prophet is punishable by death.
• Criticizing or denying Allah, the god of Islam is punishable by death.
• A Muslim who becomes a non-Muslim is punishable by death.
• A non-Muslim who leads a Muslim away from Islam is punishable by death.
• A non-Muslim man who marries a Muslim woman is punishable by death.
• A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old.
• Girls' clitoris should be cut (Muhammad's words, Book 41, Kitab Al-Adab, Hadith 5251).
• A woman can have 1 husband, who can have up to 4 wives; Muhammad can have more.
• A man can beat his wife for insubordination.
• A man can unilaterally divorce his wife; a woman needs her husband's consent to divorce.
• A divorced wife loses custody of all children over 6 years of age or when they exceed it.
• Testimonies of four male witnesses are required to prove rape against a woman.
• A woman who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s).
• A woman's testimony in court, allowed in property cases, carries ½ the weight of a man's.
• A female heir inherits half of what a male heir inherits.
• A woman cannot drive a car, as it leads to fitnah (upheaval).
• A woman cannot speak alone to a man who is not her husband or relative.
• Meat to eat must come from animals that have been sacrificed to Allah - i.e., be "Halal".
• Muslims should engage in Taqiyya and lie to non-Muslims to advance Islam.
• The list goes on (see Sharia law in USA, UK, Europe & Saudi Arabia, Hitler & Islam).
http://www.billionbibles.org/sharia/sharia-law.html

Obama continued to say:
“And we will win this fight by staying true to our values, values of pluralism and rule of law and diversity and freedoms, like the freedom of religion, freedom of speech and assembly, the very freedoms that the people of nice were celebrating last night on Bastille day.”

Oh really? How is this Pluralism?: “Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran is punishable by death” or “Criticizing or denying Allah, the god of Islam is punishable by death

This is why you liberals can’t see what he’s doing: “Muslims should engage in Taqiyya and lie to non-Muslims to advance Islam.”

That is what Obama has been doing, advancing Islam by lying to you, and you blind followers of the blind are lapping it up!

And how is this even the rhetoric that is being pushed down our throats about “Moderate Muslims”!? You see, in defending Sharia law, Obama has stepped way beyond his lies about only supporting moderate Muslims! By supporting and defending and attempting to justify Sharia law as being “true to our values” as Americans, he has shown his true colors!

You can’t have “pluralism” (such as is true to American values) when one group is attempting to establish laws that make the other group illegal and punishable by death. That is the opposite of pluralism Mr. Barak I’ve-got-this-Taqqiya-thing-down-to-a-science Obama!

This is typical one-sided liberal hypocritical insanity! What about Christian’s right to freedom of religion to verbally denounce homosexuality as against God’s law? Gasp, outrage, why we’d rather allow Sharia law in our country than allow that kind of h**e speech! Hypocrites!

Here’s what Jesus Christ said:

Matthew 5:43-48
43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and h**e your enemy.'
44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who h**e you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
45 that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don't even the tax collectors do the same?
47 If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don't even the tax collectors do the same?
48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

How does Sharia law in any way compare with such as the high moral standards of Jesus Christ?
“On Friday, Barack Obama called Newt Gingrich's pl... (show quote)

Obvious difference of the two, Newt knows what the hell is needed and right.
Obama has to protect the ones he helps in over-throwing our country.

The Islamic movement isn't about religion, it is about world domination.

Forget the religious attack argument and understand the move to take our country.

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference. See U.S. Const. amend. I. Freedom of expression consists of the rights to freedom of speech, press, assembly and to petition the government for a redress of grievances, and the implied rights of association and belief. The Supreme Court interprets the extent of the protection afforded to these rights. The First Amendment has been interpreted by the Court as applying to the entire federal government even though it is only expressly applicable to Congress. Furthermore, the Court has interpreted, the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment as protecting the rights in the First Amendment from interference by state governments. See U.S. Const. amend. XIV.

Two clauses in the First Amendment guarantee freedom of religion. The establishment clause prohibits the government from passing legislation to establish an official religion or preferring one religion over another. It enforces the "separation of church and state." Some governmental activity related to religion has been declared constitutional by the Supreme Court. For example, providing bus t***sportation for parochial school students and the enforcement of "blue laws" is not prohibited. The free exercise clause prohibits the government, in most instances, from interfering with a person's practice of their religion.

The most basic component of freedom of expression is the right of freedom of speech. The right to freedom of speech allows individuals to express themselves without interference or constraint by the government. The Supreme Court requires the government to provide substantial justification for the interference with the right of free speech where it attempts to regulate the content of the speech. A less stringent test is applied for content-neutral legislation. The Supreme Court has also recognized that the government may prohibit some speech that may cause a breach of the peace or cause violence. For more on unprotected and less protected categories of speech see advocacy of illegal action, fighting words, commercial speech and obscenity. The right to free speech includes other mediums of expression that communicate a message. The level of protection speech receives also depends on the forum in which it takes place.

In other words protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference...

As Floyd Brown wrote:
This Nation was founded by people many who came here to avoid religious prosecution.

The general idea of the Founding was to allow people to worship as they wished.

There was to be no official State Religion.

pretty clear summation right there....

Nor was it established and written as it is to keep religion out of the government and politics.....It merely cites the right of freedom of religion, not to be attacked, limited or forced ...The government holds no authority over the right of or that which is chosen by a person......Freedom of Religion means just that, especially when you consider why they left their homeland and the persecution that forced them to leave...Think of their mindset, a strong mindset given what they endured in the name of "one chosen religion" being forced upon them....

http://virginiahumanities.org/2012/03/james-madison-religious-freedom/

<snip> Plenty more to the article ~

Now Madison was always the practical man; he had a solution: Members of Congress, just like their constituents, should pay their ministers; there should be no free ride for politicians. “[L]et them like their Constituents, … [discharge their religious duties] at their own expence. How small a contribution from each member of Congs wd suffice for the purpose?… How noble in its exemplary sacrifice to the genius of the Constitution; and the divine right of conscience?” James Madison was concerned not only with religious freedom, but setting a precedent for politicians’ use of the public purse.[3]

There are many other examples, but space does not permit.

Importantly, Madison was not opposed to religion. If you read Madison, it is clear that the former student of theology was personally, deeply religious. But he did not see his religion as in any way inconsistent with his commitment to religious liberty and a strict separation of church and state.

Some homework is necessary: Read Madison’s Memorial & Remonstrance – it is easily located on the web. What you will find is that he is still speaking to us about religious freedom, and from deep conviction. We should listen.

Thank you James Madison.

Hi, lindajoy
When you hit a topic your reasoning and summation are spot on.

Not many people know of the Federalist Papers or what they explain, let alone read any of them.

Madison could be seen as the maker of religious belief for this country. Dev**e Christian he was, he knew the pitfalls of allowing a merging between State and government.

As you say, freedom of Religion to participate as we wish without limitations or government force or decree, nothing more.
