I suggest that Trump is not your common Conservative at all, but his proposed program of legislation was indeed more Conservative than Liberal, and far more Conservative than Progressive. Further, I suggest that Trump himself is prone to exaggeration and hyperbole as part of his very nature, and he is very combative, perhaps to a fault.

It is obvious that he underestimates the difficulties of getting legislation through Congress, which is surely a result of his lack of experience in DC. He uses Twitter to get around the media, which has some merit, but in general he hurts his image more than he gains. Trump has canceled many of Obama's Executive Orders already, which I consider a huge plus, and he has canceled a number of regulations Obama's EPA and other departments set forth which is also a big plus. His se******n of Gorsuch for the Supreme Court is an outstanding move.

This all said, I shudder to think of Clinton in the White House. It is beyond imagination to realize that she placed TS/SCI/TK information on her server unmarked, and (so far) has not been brought to full account. Had I done that, I would be sitting in Leavenworth right now. I abhor such a double standard!

A Few Sources for Our Constitution
(Derived from : "The 5000 Year Leap", by W. Cleon Skousen,
The National Center for Constitutional Studies, 2009)
Sources:
The Bible;
The Torah;
Avoidance of Ruler's Law;
Avoidance of Anarchy;
Avoidance of Collectivism
Early People's Law of Israel;
Early Greek Law;
Early Roman Law;
Cicero's Commentary on Law;
Natural Law of St. Thomas Aquinas;
Anglo-Saxon Law;
British Common Law;
The Federalist Papers.
28 Principles Derived from the Above:
1. Natural Law
2. Virtuous People
3. Virtuous Leaders
4. The Role of Religion
5. The Role of the Creator
6. All Men are Created Equal
7. Equal Rights not Equal Things
8. Unalienable Rights of Man
9. The Role of Revealed Law
10. Sovereignty of the People
11. How Government can be Altered
12. A Republic not a Democracy
13. Protection Against Human Frailty
14. Property Rights
15. Free Market Economics
16. Separation of Powers
17. Checks and Balances
18. A Written Constitution
19. Limiting the Powers of Government
20. Majority Rule with Minority Rights
21. Local Self-Government
22. Government by Law not by Men
23. An Educated E*****rate
24. Peace Through Strength
25. Avoiding Entangling Alliances
26. Protecting the Role of the Family
27. Avoiding Debt (???!)
28. The Sense of Manifest Destiny.

All of the above principles are easily found in the Constitution and the thoughts of the founders. What is not so obvious is the inclusion of most of the principles of Natural Law as well. In fact, to study the Constitution is to study the essential principles of Natural Law itself.

Today we see and hear little of the joyful spirit of our citizens in the newspapers or on television. But it is there nevertheless. America resides in our hearts and in our many blessings to have been born in this nation. We still have great p***e stemming from our beliefs in the system created for us by our forefathers, and defended against powerful enemies by our many dedicated soldiers, sailors and airmen.

It is with great joy that we celebrate our founding, and it is with deep respect that we reflect on how this nation was formed and how it has endured over 241 years. In further reflection on our nation we feel the hope and can-do spirit that guides us to make the nation even better in the future, and the fundamental spirit that moves us to venerate the Constitution, and to defend it passionately for the sake of the lives of our children and our children's children.
God Bless America!

The time you speak of 'back in the 50's' was a whole different time in that China was struggling just to stay alive. Now it's 2017 and they are alive and rich and as I stated with today's China " it's all about the money". They don't have much choice other than to reign in one loose mad dog especially with the potential of a 'nuke' war. Think about that just for a moment.

I grant you that the Korean War was a long time ago and China is in a wholly different economic and military position. However, they were willing to use their military then when they were relatively poor and had no nuclear capability. Now they have both riches, a large armed forces and nuclear weapons. They also believe that they can survive a nuclear war and have stated as much! From this state of affairs, it is not unreasonable to believe that they would support the NK if we attacked, and try to confine the conflict to the Korean area.

The relative trade between the US and China is such that if it were to be cut off, it would hurt both the Chinese and the US, but the Chinese mindset is such that they believe they would lose face if they didn't come to the NK's support, and never mind the money aspect. It is also true that they would make some attempt to head off a conflict, but even they find it very difficult to deal with Un and honor their long-term, solemn commitments to the NK, including defense agreements. We may have an enigma here, and I hope we follow a cautious path. I would not bet on their money motive alone...

My spirituality comes from Gods word, not that as defined by the different denominations.. Those are man made interpretations of what they believe or want us to believe, thus why there is so much confusion about God or our Lord or Savior or energy etc..

In its truest form there is nothing confusing about God other than that which has been construed by the different church..

My Faith in He above comes from my heart, soul and spirit to He above and not what man would have me believe..

lindajoy, that your faith comes from the heart and soul is wonderful. What confuses me is how you know what the word of God is unless you study the Bible very closely. What I have found out is that my reading of the Bible is significantly worse than that of, for instance, Chuck Missler, who has an astounding and wholly believable lecture on Genesis and other Bible books.

The Bible is a whole entity, OT+NT, and Jesus did not change the Commandments, but rather amplified them and made them more accessible. So, Christians still have to obey the Ten Commandments, especially the "do not k**l" command. A Christian cannot ignore the OT at all, it is essential for the message of the Creation, among other important messages. If you accept the Trinity, you must accept God as three entities: God/Jesus His Son/ and the Holy Spirit. To accept God you must accept His Creation event and his Trinitarian being, that is, the central message of the OT, and the fact of the existence of God and the books of the OT. These Scriptures are the written revelations of God or inspired writings from the time of Moses to that of John and make up the Christian Bible.

A******n is a moral issue, and it is very clear that Christians must obey the Ten Commandments and not have one or perform one. This supersedes the authority of the government, and the government should bow out except for regulating medical facilities. Thou shalt not k**l is the operative Commandment. All of the various attempts to justify a******n are simply empty words. Of course, we will not find out the full depth of the penalties for a******n until judgement day, but it will come.

It must be said that personhood begins at conception, and those who consider a fetus to be mere junk are dead wrong. In the many expanding cells of the fetus is all of the information required to form a person, thus making a fetus a protoperson, hence subject to the commands of God and the rules against k*****g or murder.

Any Christian that has an a******n has violated the Ten Commandments and the Bible verses that declare conception is the beginning of life for a person. Thus a******n is murder.

Does anyone know how many years we have tried to move China to rein in the North Koreans? Far too many! While a strong push to get China to do something significant about NK is certainly warranted, I would remind everyone that back in 1950 or so, after we had the NK on the run, China joined the fight and nearly drove us out of Korea. We lost over 55,000 dead and many more wounded in that war. If they were willing to fight for NK then, exactly what would change their decision this time?

The key problem for US planning is Seoul, with its 20 million SK people just 35 or so miles from the SK/NK border. The NK army has populated the border with many thousands of artillery pieces, all trained on Seoul. The NK could devastate Seoul and its population with barrage after barrage. In planning for any military action against the NK, those artillery pieces must be largely neutralized, or Seoul will suffer.

The only way I know to do this is to use multiple B-52, B-1B, F-15, and FA-18 launched JDAM-type missiles carrying SFW devices the would rain down on any large metal objects and take them out. This would have to be repeated a number of times until virtually no large metal object in the corridor above Seoul has been left untouched. If the NK army sends tanks and APCs down the corridor, a repeat raid or raids would have to be executed. This is entirely possible for these aircraft and weapons to accomplish tomorrow, along with a full missile and SFW attack on the NK nuclear facilities and missile sites. The number of sorties of our aircraft would be over 200 to 400, I expect.

SFW is a Sensor-Fused Weapon, CBU-105, that deploys small "skeets" to seek out their own targets, such as artillery pieces, tanks, APCs, missile sites and trucks and devastates them, and they are small enough for clusters of 40 of them to be housed in a JDAM air-launched guided missile. The one factor that may affect the attack is just how the artillery pieces are housed in caves or other holes. For them to fire effectively, however, they must be run out of their hidden positions, which makes the SFWs a solid answer, but our attack must be repeated a number of times to ensure we have most, if not all of the tubes neutralized.

After all of this, it is most likely that the NK would send its army south against the SK army and our division-level of troops in the SK. Again, their concentrations of troops would be attacked by SFW and personnel cluster weapons to inflict serious casualties on the NK army at or around the border. The ensuing ground war needs to be addressed as well, but I am not ready to do that, and others can do it justice better than I can.

In my opinion, there is no sense at all in arguing with a Liberal/Progressive person. You will not persuade them of your position, and the ad hominem attacks will drown out any semblance of rational thought. Some day, the t***h will dawn on many of them, perhaps when St. Peter interviews them for admission to Heaven, and they fail...
