The hunting sucks anymore because our game commission intentionally destroyed it. The fishing is fair. I was out in my canoe, caught but did not keep 5 pan fish and had a Bald Eagle land in a hemlock tree very close to me. These fools who spend their lives on their smart phones need to get out on a lake with a fish pole.

I am slowly removing a few trees. Some I will have to call for help on. For all of those tree huggers, I say trees are very dangerous creatures. Worse than lions and tigers and bears, oh my.
One nearby giant oak came down at a neighbor's place and flattened a garage and a vehicle. No storm, no wind, no rhyme or reason. Just dum luck nobody died.

This used to be rural and maybe it still is a little. We have a few music venues that get big music. I've seen Joan Jette, Ronnie Spector, the B52s around here. We get a lot of small bands and during the summer they put on free outdoor concerts within walking distance.

I have an idea you are in Georgia. I have a good friend with a band in Atlanta called the George Price trio. He has been playing since we were in junior high. I know what you mean about trees-- I clean up windfalls on my road every winter. I'm on the edge of town and we get a lot of wildlife around sometimes--Turkeys deer elk even bears. nice chatting with you.

Some of you are aware that I am an elected public official and this is the story of my struggle. I had just sold a property that I had owned and had to move quick. I made a phone call and bought another place over the phone sight unseen. The streets in the are were in horrible shape and I kept wondering when the road grader would come. The seller conveniently failed to tell me that the grader would never come unless I paid for it. It seemed I had bought into a property where it was deeded a private road -public access. Nothing on Gods' green earth was going to change that and my county absolutely would not do a stitch of maintenance on our little road system. That winter the roads mudded out so bad that the road disappeared and peoples yards became the new road--not exaggerating. The school busses refused to run and police and fire left us on our own. There are 73 tax lots and 200 residents out here. We tried going door to door for donations and got a whopping $35 that is it. A couple of well off retirees paid to get some rock delivered and the road graded. By spring the road was going away again so I took a week off and hauled rock all day long every day and put it back in shape by hand. I had a resident approach me with the idea of forming a road district to ensure we had money to do maintenance. A few of us pooled our money and got an attorney and then we went through several meetings with the county commissioners before we could call a special e******n to v**e our road district into being. Well the opposition to paying the 2.19 per thousand of taxable value caused us to lose by one v**e. We had no choice to maintain the road ourselves for next 2 years till we could get it on the b****t again. This time we won by a single v**e. Well the opposition started a recall petition the very first year that we were going to get tax money to bring in rock and a road grader. We beat the recall 2 to 1 with 66% v**er turnout. Once the people saw they were getting something they did not want to give it up. That recall cost us $1150 out of our budget of just over $9000. That meant for anther year we had to put our own money into the road again. For 9 years the opposition threw every stumbling block they could in front of us and hatred took over the minds of some on the district board. Now comes the moral issue---It is my belief that the purpose of government agencies is to provide services to tax payers and should not be withheld due to prejudice or animosity from the governing body. The individual who had given us so much pain became in dire straits with a flooding issue and needed our help. The solution would be a drainage ditch and a few culverts however the State did not require us to do so and the two other members of the board refused to help. Now since we were the taxing entity we also issue the permission to do work on the road frontage and the county road department oversees the work done. The property owner took out a permit then started digging a 3 foot deep ditch along the very edge of the road. Before I knew it the county was called in and the work stopped and the damaged road was left that way. Now became a 2 year battle for me to get this job done. This past winter 5 inches of rain fell in one night and a major 24" culvert going under the road plugged and flooded over the road and flooded 3 homes. I was president so I called an emergency session and we decided to put in the ditches and culverts needed to prevent this situation from happening again. I rented an excavator and did the work myself. This made the former president very angry and he turned me in to the special districts of Oregon and tried to get me in major trouble. I had done every thing right and the special districts took my side. The project is done now and the opposition has backed off.. I have 2 years to go on this term and I am trough. It has been an uphill battle but worth the years of putting up with opposition from within and without. Our road system is in very good shape now and I am glad I held to my beliefs.

Whereas Mad MAX SPECIFICALLY tells her listeners " And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere. "

He does not tell his supporters to take actions against others. Mad Maxine specifically tells her brain deaD followers to confront the people she has decided are evil. That is a great big difference. On campuses conservative speakers are shouted down, not allowed to speak because the Left wing Administrations of these education institutions are afraid of the Marxist students.

Trump and those on the right have nothing like that in their pockets.

Complaining about what Trump does will never be listened to until those doing the complaining clean up their own stables.

What if ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC were to actually report the t***h for awhile instead of reporting 98% negative about President Trump. Do you think that that might change the public's opinion about the news media. If they are going to go all negative all of the time then label as what they are and that is an arm of the democrat party. I wouldn't listen to someone who had nothing good to say about what I was doing and I suspect that the majority of people wouldn't either. If they want their message to be heard good bad or indifferent then start reporting the t***h and not the t***h that you perceive but the t***h that used to be published by old time journalists. Maybe you remember they went out and they dug up a story and they had their sources and they would lay the groundwork for their story and they would list those sources that allowed them to withhold the names of others. It was t***hful reporting that broke open Watergate it wasn't wishful thinking. Somebody did their legwork and broke the story to the public. We don't have news stories anymore all we have are editorials.

T***hful reporting in this day and age is the object of scorn among the radicalized and indoctrinated. Opinion pieces are just that and discernable from facts. It seem that fact checkers are not free from being labeled as f**e--It all depends on who is disagreeing with the answer they are given.

Washington (AFP) - Americans distrust the news media, but see government and political leaders as even more untrustworthy, a survey showed Monday.

The Pew Research Center found 69 percent of Americans say the federal government intentionally withholds important information from the public, while 61 percent say the news media intentionally ignores important stories.

Nearly two-thirds say it is hard to tell the difference between what is true and false when they hear elected officials, and almost half said the same about information they encounter on social media.

The survey highlighting growing mistrust among Americans in institutions and in each other, which could make it more difficult to deal with social and political issues.

Researchers found 64 percent of US adults believe trust in each other has declined, and 58 percent say it is very important to reverse that.

"Americans are worried that distrust in the government and in others is taking a toll on the nation," said Lee Rainie, head of Pew's internet and technology research.

"They believe that distrust gets in the way of solving some pressing problems, that it flows from a broken political culture and that it keeps neighbors apart.

"At the same time, people are full of ideas about solutions to trust problems. They range from muffling political partisanship to reorienting the news to creating community projects where people can work shoulder-to-shoulder."

Pew said at least part of reason for the lack of trust in government lies with President Donald Trump, who has repeated at least 10,000 falsehoods since taking office, according to one count, and who has repeatedly attacked mainstream media reports about him as "f**e news."

Asked why the level of trust in government has declined, 14 percent cited Trump and his administration, while 10 percent noted the performance of the news media.

The respondents said they believe the mistrust can be reversed: 84 percent believe the level of confidence Americans have in the federal government can be improved, and 86 percent said the same about the confidence Americans have in each other.

The report was extracted from Pew's American Trends Panel conducted November 27 to December 10, 2018 of 10,618 adults, with an estimated margin of error of 1.5 percentage points.
