The whole country is in the red, thanks to trump and the GOP's extravagant spending spree. Do you want more of THAT?

Okay, I'm going to play with words a bit. It will not be pretty, but here goes!

Ah, but one side
of the political divide
Wants to give everything free
to those who come here illegally.

Open the borders
Open the gates
Says the side who marches with h**e

All are welcome,
everything's free,
(Except to those here legally.)

Those who've worked all their lives
See-through the bullies and their lies

We're deplorable, expendable, don't you see
(Our sacrifices cannot be allowed to count)
Against those demanding everything free

"Stay in your houses,
don't go to church,
Don't see your families,"
Cry those throwing dirt.

We must not question,
We must not have a say,
As one side wins
No matter what way.

We are a nation of rules, a nation of laws.
But who thinks we're too stupid to obtain an I-D?

We're not stupid,
we're not dumb
We have that free education
available to citizens of this nation

Can anyone answer the following questions?

I need an ID to work, drive, bank, buy property, marry, get medical treatment, pay my taxes, get sued, and get on a plane--so why don't I need one to v**e?

And can anyone tell me why I got six pieces of mail--suggesting I need to v**e by mail?

Everyone must have a voice
Even those without ids
Legal v**es don't matter don't you see
Cause no id's required

Here's the new reality that will be needed to break the exploding v***s levels in states and regions, and here is the reality of it based on how it has to be. Our friend has a son that lives in Wisconsin who just got married this year. They think C***d is a joke, they go to bars and parties and act like it's no big deal, meanwhile several of his wife's family members and friends have gotten it, some hospitalized recently. He called her and said they were going to come to California at Christmas time. J said that wouldn't be a good idea, she is recovering from cancer surgery complications, her parents are in their 80's and strongly quarantining themselves, and his brother just had a new baby and would refuse to see them.

States that have a decent handle on this are going to have every right to adopt quarantine standards for anyone, especially from hard hit areas, doing what New Zealand does, you check into a 14 day quarantine camp. These are not the concentration camps the right will undoubtedly call them. They are nice rooms, have good food, and people are here because they choose to be there so they can enter into New Zealand because they want to.

Leaving a high C***d area to go to an area that has lower rates because they are containing it better is what being a super spreader is all about. This jerk came to California to get married, during group size restrictions, to defy our rules because they think this is a joke.

When you have been in contact with people who get c***d during their dangerous incubation period, you are supposed to self quarantine for 14 days and get tested toward the end of that period so that you can be sure you are not giving it to other people. This is the only thing that is going to keep people from giving it to several other people, it is part of stopping an exponential growth...which by the way is still not understood by many of those on the right in states that are going through record spikes that will get worse until these states get it and do something like Arizona and Kansas did.

Biden and democrats are not going to stand by and watch as over a million people die, which is exactly what will happen under trump's watch. Aggressive contact tracing will be implemented, and those exposed to C***d will not be under suggestions that they stay at home, it will be mandatory and enforced.

People's "freedom" cannot come at the expense of hundreds of thousands of people's lives. We will insist on self quarantines at a penalty for non compliance that could be k*****g other people. It starts with masks, goes to closing bars and operating restaurants with sensible standards, mandates CDC guidelines for businesses to offer safer work places (at penalty for non compliance), and will force regional full lockdowns for the few weeks needed to get a handle on dangerously overloaded regions. This is the new reality.
Here's the new reality that will be needed to brea... (show quote)

Okay! <snark>I don't see why certain fractions are against the Red states having deaths, they are all for k*****g unborn babies, assisted suicide, letting dangers felons out, not detaining illegal entrants in our country, and tramping on constitutional rights.

So...why is it okay to lock up those on the right just because they might be sick, they are American citizens and they disagree with the other side's politics? Evidently all those "peaceful" protesters in large elbow-to- elbow groups are safer than our church members. I'd love to see the science on time limits of a v***s that says only after 6-9 pm it is dangerous and you must shut down the business.

For all of you non-scientific persons out there, have you ever put blue food coloring at one end of a fish tank and red coloring at the other? Watch how they blend. That's all we're doing with these masks. Eventually, the air meets in the middle with the v***s.

It's easy to say, "I don't like that guy, I'm v****g for the other guy " every time you endure another political ad.

But there is power in your v**e, and it's a shame to waste it by tossing it into the polluted stream of whichever ad annoys you less.

Don't fall for the crap that floats by in the main stream. Instead take a break and thoughtfully consider the big picture. Google "democratic platform "and "republican platform "and read through them. It's easy and interesting.

Then forget about the two candidates for a minute. It will feel good. And think about what you just read.

We live with a two party government that runs the country mostly according to what you just read, not just according to what the president says. V**e to support the party having the platform most agreeable to you, and your v**e becomes a part of the country's foundation, and not just an opinion in a frivolous popularity contest.

And another thing you would do well to consider is that the issues addressed in a platform are not of equal importance. There can be trade-offs, boxes checked for this party and other boxes checked for that party, then what do you do? Tally the number of check marks for each of the two parties and go with the winner?

Or do you acknowledge the elephant in the room, the overarching issue that barely, if at all, is ever mentioned in this e******n process? It is the legal murder of 2000 babies every day which is clearly, strongly supported by only one of the two parties. An a*********n so reprehensible that they try to hide it under the cloak of "reproductive health care ". Make no mistake about it, they are not only referring to birth control pills, pap smears and breast exams! And there is nothing healthy or caring about brazenly destroying the product of a man and a woman's reproductive act. Pregnancy is not a disease!

And you might say, "so what? It's legal, it's the mother's choice, and what the poor minority people do with their unfortunate lives is of little consequence to me. "

Well, from a purely scientific view a******n is the k*****g of a pre-born human being. You can call it a choice, a clump, some tissue, a fetus, the mother's body but don't lie to yourself- it is a human baby! A unique individual with unique DNA, from the moment of conception, not just an appendage of the mother.

From a secular humanist point of view a******n is all of that plus the loss of a person that may have contributed greatly to society. Or at least a person with innate value. We have legally murdered 35 million such people in the wake of Roe v Wade. And it's young people, the greatest consumers, that drive a strong economy. Consider all the clothing, food, toys, health care, homes, durable goods, entertainment, vehicles etc. not produced because every day there are 2000 fewer people added to the market than there should have been. A compounding progression- by now there should be 35 million more consumers than there are. This t***slates to a 20% increase in demand for goods and services in what is already a strong economy, temporarily subdued by p******c.

And finally, what if we and the universe are more than just a super colossal coincidence of an almost infinite number of random things coming together in just the right, delicate way to form the reality in which we live? What if there is an intelligent design to it all? The great preponderance of evidence indicates this to be the case. And might that intelligent designer take issue with the wanton destruction of intelligent creation, namely, human beings? What if, at the end of our days, we must account for our actions? Again the preponderance of evidence indicates this to be the case. If you don't v**e against a******n, how many murders will you have tacitly supported? Will you try to negotiate, to justify your support of all that carnage with your economic, foreign and domestic policy, and p**********l intelligence and morality arguments?

Is a******n negotiable, just another check box in the party platform?

Do you want to take that chance?

Or does the elephant 🐘 in the room make the Democratic Platform null and void? Many of us v**e Republican just for that reason!

The majority of contributors to One Political Plaza are conservative so they are mostly pretty safe on this issue. I'm hoping and praying that this article may influence and ultimately save some souls in the audience of 23,000 casual OPP readers who may not be aware of the elephant.
It's easy to say, "I don't like that guy, I'm... (show quote)

In the constitution, it says all men are created equal, "in context with what was going on with England at the time, it really doesn't mean what a lot of people today think; however, taken at its face value...every life is created equal, so why are you k*****g pre-born infants, why are you neglecting those born and letting them die, why are you beating your children, your spouses, why are you advocating assisted suicide?

Why are we allowing cities to disregard Federal law? As those citizens not supposed to be following the same laws that the rest of the nation follows? Why are we allowing persons to push an agenda that goes against the Constitution?

Why did we allow politicians to pass laws that the rest of us have to follow and they don't have to follow?

Hum, I've been trying to v**e those in power out, didn't happen, but I try.

Now, I read the platforms and watched the actions and rhetoric of our leaders as they abuse our Republic. They need to be reminded that they are not "all that special," and we need new laws that strip away the "special" privileges they granted to themselves, or better yet nullify the laws that granted the special privilege in the first place. It will just be a little adjustment to existing law.

Pension, no pay greater than social security or a means test, pay raises--match social security highest allowed raise amount or even our military's raises, term limits, and oh, yes you do get speed tickets, parking tickets, and all the rest--just as if you are a regular member of our republic. You see you are "special," you just haven't gotten it yet, you are supposed to work for us, not line your pockets for yourself and your cronies. You were never meant to give your self privileges the rest of us don't have. You need to remember that "all men are created equal" thing.

Look at the results of political power and corruption. Listen to what they say, research what they have done. V**e!

Who? What? When? Where? How? Why? The first paragraph should answer the first four questions. The Why is speculative and included only if you have the space.

I write on this forum whenever a question catches my attention, using my computer.

I (who) write (what) on this forum (where) whenever a question catches my attention (when) using my computer (how).

(Why) The reasons for different posts vary depending on the subject matter being discussed or the tone or the way the information may be skewed or portrayed. Sometimes I post because I just cannot keep my opinions to myself.

Here's a thinking or debate topic, if you will.

Okay, I'm just going to say this once before I get trashed. What can I say, but "all men are created equal" and "have the right to life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness," has been taken to mean any race, all g****rs, any sex, all religions. Should't this include the unborn and the born, we are leaving to die after they draw their first breath after birth?

You see, we now have laws in some states that allow assisted suicide; we're defending aborting babies. Hum, but we are against the execution of criminals--no matter how heinous their crimes. There is something wrong with this picture--don't you think?

In classical debates, there is always a proposition to be debated and a Yes side and a No side, as well as judges that decide who wins the argument.

OPP, in contrast, is a free-form battle where the usual two sides are free to voice their opinions, with no defined judges, simply the debaters themselves banging at each other until they tire of the situation, or one side has done a good number on the other, and especially there are no formal and impartial judges to keep score and announce the winner.

This is not going to change.

However, if the posters have clearly established their fundamental positions on the 20 key questions facing all of us in advance, it would make the discussions far more effective and directed-- in my opinion, of course. So what are these fundamentals that sharpen the discussions?

1. Do you believe that every cause has an effect? Yes or No?
2. Was there Something before the Big Bang that Caused it? Yes or No?
3. Is Genesis the answer? Yes or No?
4. Has the scientific community proved that God does not exist? Yes or No?
5. Is Neo Evolution a correct theory? Yes or No?
6. Do you believe in moral absolutes? Yes or No?
7. Do Multiverses really exist? Yea or No?
8. Is society better off without religions? Yes or No?
9. Do you believe in God? Yes or No?
10.Do you believe in Natural Rights and Natural Law? Yes or No?
11.Do you support the Constitution as written? Yes or No?
12. Do you believe in Socialism and/or C*******m? Yes or No?

17. Are you an Independent? Yes or No?
18. Do you have a Bachelor's Degree? Yes or No?
19. Do you have an advanced degree? Yes or No?

My responses are as follows.

Unless I choose to disclose specific information, my answers to said questions are not necessary.

I believe the said items are put forward to further division and dissent. I think the attempt is to divide the group into tiers of "class," giving some a supposed "superiority" over others.

A competent person in a debate can express both sides of an argument regardless of a personal position on a said argument.

The major problem I see is this forum is the posturing of some participants who sink to rock-bottom levels using language that is, at best--bullying, or at worst--slander when that person attempts to generalize against other members on this forum.

The questions proposed, if answered, would allow some on this forum to use the answers against others as a club.

Therefore, I respectfully decline to join in answering such questions: any argument put forth should stand on its own merits.

Trump made a good point about the numerous vacancies for judges being in existence when he (Trump) took office. He and the Senate need to do their jobs, fill all the vacancies.

It is not packing the courts if they only fill open positions. Americans have the right to a speedy trial. We need all vacancies in our courts filled.

There have been too many "leaks" of "so-called information." This has been combined with speculative conclusions stated as "actual facts."

I remember a year that we paid more in taxes than a different president. Those that take risks also face losses as well as gains. It is no telling how much our stock lost during this p******c and our governer's continued lockdown. You better believe we'll try to take every tax advantage that is available. We pay taxes on the gains, we'll take credit on the losses when available.
