Fascinating irony! This position, as another commentator noted, was before the great recession, which changed situation may have required temporary change of position. However, the statement suggests Obama may indeed support not only discussion of measures to reduce spending with Republicans but also be willing (or even eager) to negotiate spending cuts and revenue toward balancing spending and revenue.

The reality is that it's the Democrats who have most at stake in making federal spending for their programs and initiatives workable and it's the Republicans who have since Reagan used tax reduction as a measure to prevent adding to those programs and initiatives if not to actually roll some of them back. Perhaps both sides have over-reached and placed us in a situation difficult to resolve without painful sacrifices.

Has it came down to this? I believe it has. For years now this Administration, "Obamas administration," AKA his, as this fool president is so fond off telling us all. Now has brought us to this level. Dam this fool for bringing this country to this stage. Congress should have impeached Obama a long time ago. For the life of me, I can not understand why they have not. Pole after pole, all across the nation have shone at a minimum of 68 to as high as 83 percent of the American people want this fool removed from office. Well it just might happen. It does appear that Obamas chickens have come home to roost. I pray that no one will get hurt, but if that be the case. It will be on this current administrations head. If you listen to the speaker of the senate, Reid. He and the president knows better what the people want, more than the people do them selves.
