We celebrated thirty-six on the 18th.

I have a philosophy about marriage. It obviously has worked so far.

Would that be, "as long as Auntie get's her way, everything is fine?" LOL
I hope you know that "all is fair in love and politics(war)".

Judging by the foaming-at-the-mouth bitterness exhibited by the far right, I would place my money on the Democrats capturing the White House again in 2017. The winners (metrosexual males and uppity educated women) will dance at Hillary's inaugural ball. The losers will stay home, get drunk, say things like "shut up and deal" while they watch re-runs of Duck Dynasty. Already the conservatives daily slogan is "Shut up and deal". Nothing like the desperation of losers...and the Republicans very much reek of desperation. They are doing their best imitation of the Whig Party. Wh**ever happened to the Whigs?

i have been married for 55 yrs and as we aproach the end i have nothing but absolute love for her.she has stuck with me through thick and thin and there was a lot of thin.now we just support each other .

I had my Grandparents who were married for over 70 years-both died within a year of each other, but I remember the one thing grandpa would tell all the grandkids. He'd say", when you get married, always remember that it takes two people to make an argument, so never blame the other, just accept the difference's between you and compromise, it makes things work more smoothly in the long run".
I have never forgot that and TRY(not too successfully at times) to abide by that with my wife.

Superbowl Sunday from a Marine Corps Colonel in Afghanistan: "So with all the kind ness I can muster, I give this one piece of advice to the next pop star who is asked to sing the national anthem at a sporting event: save the vocal gymnastics and the physical gyrations for your concerts. Just sing this song the way you were taught to s ing it in kindergarten - straight up, no styling. "Sing it with the constant awareness that there are soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines watching you from bases and outposts all over the world. Don't make them cringe with your self-centered ego gratification. Sing it as if you are standing before a row of 86-year-old WWII vets wearing their Purple Hearts, Silver Stars and f**g pins on their cardigans and you want them to be proud of you for honoring them and the country they love - not because you want them to think you are a superstar musician. They could see that from your costume, makeup and your entourage. Sing 'The Star Spangled Banner' with the courtesy and humility that tells the audience that it is about America, not you. And please remember, not everything has to be sung as a Negro spiritual. We're getting a little weary of that. Francis Scott Key does not need any help." Semper Fi !

Do they give the Marine's a citation for "Patriotism for the t***h in the face of pure disrespect to the National Anthem"?? If not
This ARMY puke will contact my Congressmen and see if we can work one out!!
THANK YOU COLONEL FOR SAYING WHAT ALL TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOTS SHOULD BE SAYING!!
Keep your head down, and thanks for your continued service to this great country!!

15 years ago we had a couple of the small Spanish fighting bulls on the property, they were the frienliest guys as long as you stayed outside the fence. They loved to be petted and pampered by the small kids-but you had to be on horseback to even open the gate to get to them, ornery and unpredictable, you never turned your back on them, even the horses weren't safe, seen one bull take a horse right down to the ground and try to gore him. We sold them to Rob Smets ,(World Champion Bull Fighter) who took them to his ranch up north of us about 2 hours.

We don't have black angus any more, but I can agree with your observation about meadow muffins. I also discovered that they can growl -- such a low menacing moo, no doubt in your mind what message they are trying to convey!! I have a lot of respect for anything that weighs a minimum of 1200 lbs. and still leap over a fence.

...or through a fence!

I don't post on a lot of topics because I already know where the conversations are headed. I have found it much safer to just be a voyeur and "watch" -- my blood pressure doesn't rise that way and I don't pop as many antacids.
I tried being a "voyeur" but I'm just a hands on kinda guy I guess!! LOL
And I can't keep my mouth shut when some moron bashes America and the Constitution! Just a character flaw I guess!! Too many years in the ARMY maybe!

You do remember that I live on a farm, correct? That said, before I tackle the national debt, how 'bout I consume some of that catalyst and figure out how to solve my farm debt? You been doin' a little more OPP surfing that has given you the :hunf: face?

I can remember as a kid of about 5, going into the barn when it was cold and curling up with the horses in their stalls and falling asleep-never the cows, they didn't care where they did the business! We had one gelding that would lay down on purpose to get us to come in and curl up with him, he was a very "social" horse-just don't fall asleep with him if you had candy in your pocket, he would find a way to get at it. LOL

Since we seem to be expecting a few more arctic surges -- I'll experiment -- hey, something constructive to do with my time. I'm thinking the alcohol might play a role -- might need some of those really arctic mornings.

With the alcohol as the catalyst, why not try to solve the national debt? You certainly couldn't make it any worse than it is!

Well, I'm no expert, but I would assume that just under freezing would be perfect for the right viscosity of the drink.

If you try making them, let me know when you have it 'down pat'!

I will help you sample all the trial runs! It could take a while to get the right mix, so we could be at it a while, OH boy!!
