The Clinton campaign’s recent attacks on Donald Trump for his comments about a beauty queen’s weight problems were months in the making, according to an opposition research report uncovered in emails released by WikiLeaks on Sunday.

Democratic p**********l nominee Hillary Clinton invoked those comments during the first p**********l debate on Sept. 26. Near the end of the showdown, during a sustained riff about the Republican nominee's past remarks about women, Clinton cited the case of Miss Universe 1996 Alicia Machado.

“And one of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest,” Clinton said. “He loves beauty contests, supporting them and h*****g around them. And he called this woman ‘Miss Piggy.’ Then he called her ‘Miss Housekeeping,’ because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name.”

Trump responded: “Where did you find this?”

The answer is: in a 157-page opposition research file that Clinton’s campaign had been using since at least Dec. 19, 2015, the day research director Tony Carrk emailed it – and research files on Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio – to Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta. Podesta’s emails were subsequently hacked and more than 25,000 of them have been released so far by anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks.

In a section on Page 31 titled “Trump Has Devalued And Demeaned Women Repeatedly Throughout His Career,” Trump’s comments to “This Morning” in 1997 are t***scribed under the heading “Trump On Miss Universe Pageant Winner.”

“She weighed 118 pounds, or 117 pounds, and she went up to 160 or 170,” Trump said on “This Morning.” “So this is somebody that likes to eat.”

Machado is not identified by her last name, and her first name is misspelled “Alisa.” The supposed “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping” put-downs do not appear either. However, Trump’s printed comments on Machado in the document seemingly show the Clinton campaign began considering using the episode against the business mogul before the primaries even began.

While Machado had supported and campaigned with Clinton since June 2016, her name and story didn’t gain national political attention until after the September Hofstra debate – and Trump’s comments and tweets about Machado in the following days, which extended the dispute. Clinton’s campaign was quick to capitalize, coordinating media appearances and using Machado in campaign ads.

Several other avenues of attack outlined in the 2015 Trump report have also appeared during Clinton’s campaign against the GOP nominee. Much of the material was also used by Trump’s Republican primary rivals.

The Clinton campaign Trump file includes headers such as: “Reliance On Chinese Goods”; “Support From W***e S*********ts”; and “Trump University.” A subsection in a unit on immigration is titled “Conspiracy Theories.” Subsections on Trump’s personal life include notes on “Net Worth,” “Dodging Personal Bankruptcy” and “Comments on Fidelity and Pre-Nuptial Agreements.”

Meanwhile, other emails in the Podesta trove show Clinton aides’ initial reaction to some of President Obama’s first comments about Clinton using a personal email address for government business, a controversy that has dogged her p**********l campaign.

Obama told CBS News on March 7, 2015 that he learned of Clinton’s email practices through news reports at the same time the general public did. Campaign aides quickly circulated a New York Times article featuring the president’s remarks and appeared confused by Obama’s claim. Clinton Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri emailed senior Clinton adviser Philippe Reines early on March 8 with a suggestion.

“Suggest Philippe talk to [White House press officials]. They know POTUS and HRC emailed,” Palmieri wrote, using acronyms for president of the United States and Hillary Rodham Clinton. “Josh has been asked about that. Standard practice is not to confirm anything about his email, so his answer to press was that he would not comment/confirm. I recollect that Josh was also asked if POTUS ever noticed her personal email account and he said something like POTUS likely had better things to do than focus on his Cabinet’s email addresses.”

The following day, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest tried to clear up any confusion during his daily press briefing.

“The point that the president was making is not that he didn’t know Secretary Clinton’s email address, he did,” Earnest said. “But he was not aware of the details of how that email address and that server had been set up or how Secretary Clinton and her team were planning to comply with the Federal Records Act.”

Think again. There's always more, and this is a doozy.

"The White House is like a subway. You have to put in coins to open the gates."

Such were the immortal words of one Johnny Chung, who admitted to a Senate committee in 1997 that he funneled $100,000 from the Chinese military to the Democratic National Committee. In the Clinton White House, it was pay to play all the way. That either Bill or Hillary had a political life after their treasonous run on Asian piggy banks is a testament to the ever escalating corruption of the American media.

The White House honcho who made the subways run on time – no shock here – was Hillary Clinton. It was she who convened the secret meeting with adviser Dick Morris in the White House treaty room a month after the Democrats' historic drubbing in November 1994. Blamed for the debacle, the Clintons were running for their political lives. To preserve those lives would take huge amounts of money, much of it, if not most, raised and spent illegally.

"The president and his top advisors took control of the DNC and designed a plan to engage in a historically aggressive fund-raising effort, utilizing the DNC as a vehicle for getting around federal e******n laws," the U.S. Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs, also known as the Thompson Committee, reported in March 1998. "The DNC ran television advertisements, created under the direct supervision of the president."

The deepest pockets the Clintons plundered belonged to the Riadys, an ethnic Chinese family that worked out of Indonesia. The Thompson Committee cited any number of large-scale Riady joint ventures in China, their principal partner in the People's Republic being an enterprise called China Resources, "a company wholly-owned and operated by the PRC government." The Riadys had invested in Bill Clinton back in Arkansas and bailed him out during the 1992 primary campaign. As payback, they were allowed to put their man John Huang in the Commerce Department.

And what were Huang's talents? A letter sent by an Asian outreach advocate on the stationery of the then-president pro tem of the California state Senate was frank to a fault: "John is the Riady family's top priority for placement because he is like one of their own." The Riady family, in case anyone needed reminding, "invested heavily in the Clinton campaign." To some, those were credentials enough.

Huang's actual work was icing on the cake. The Thompson Committee makes this striking admission: "[a]lthough Huang's first day at Commerce was July 18, 1994, he was granted his first security clearance in January 1994."

Huang proved his worth in June 1994. With Clinton crony Webster Hubbell on the ropes after a scandal forced him out of his job in the Justice Department, Huang arranged a $100,000 Riady payout to Hubbell. This occurred two days after Huang and James Riady met with the president in the Oval Office and a week after Hillary met with Hubbell. That payout – and $300,000 more – helped buy Hubbell's silence. Despite a ton of legal pressure, he never talked.

It should have surprised no one that the Clintons would head for Indonesia a week after the November 1994 debacle. They saw it coming and planned ahead. Not only did the Clintons have to impress the Riadys on their own home turf, but they also had to start squeezing the CEOs accompanying them in a more systematic way. It was about this time that the $100,000 donation to travel with the Clintons morphed from a discreet expectation into the price of admission.

The Thompson Committee described what happened during the next two years. "The president and his aides demeaned the offices of the president and vice president, took advantage of minority groups, pulled down all the barriers that would normally be in place to keep out illegal contributions, pressured policy makers, and left themselves open to strong suspicion that they were selling not only access to high-ranking officials, but policy as well." This was business as usual for Bill and Hillary Clinton. "Millions of dollars were raised in illegal contributions," concluded the Thompson Committee, " much of it from foreign sources."

Nothing the Clintons have done in the last thirty years matches the scope of their treachery during this two-year period. In the way of example, among those who enjoyed an intimate "coffee" with the president was one Wang Jun, chair of Poly Technologies, a company controlled by the People's Liberation Army. One of Poly Technologies' profit centers was satellite production. Another was the "importation and distribution of semi-automatic rifles for the U.S. domestic market." Between 1987 and 1993, the company and its affiliates sold more than $200 million's worth of these guns in the United States. Clinton pal Charlie Trie had greased the Wang Jun meeting with a $50,000 payment.

To the president's humble credit, as the Thompson Committee would later report, Clinton did admit that the meeting with Wang Jun was "clearly inappropriate." The president did not apologize, however, for signing waivers for four more satellite launches by Chinese rockets on that same February 1996 day. The president approved these waivers despite reports the month before that China continued to export nuclear technology to Pakistan and missiles to Iran, the latter deal suspected of being brokered by Wang Jun.

Just a week or so after Wang Jun's excellent Washington adventure, a Chinese Long March 3B rocket carrying the Loral-built Intelsat 708 satellite crashed just after liftoff and k**led or injured at least sixty people in a nearby village. This was the third Long March failure in the previous three years involving U.S.-built satellite payloads.

Loral CEO Bernard Schwartz, the largest single donor to the Clinton campaign, dispatched a Loral-led review team to China to assess the February 1996 failure of the Long March 3B rocket and suggest refinements. The Cox Committee would later describe Schwartz's actions as "an unlicensed defense service for the PRC that resulted in the improvement of the reliability of the PRC's military rockets and ballistic missiles." The White House pulled serious strings to prevent Schwartz from being prosecuted.

In the most outrageous deal of all, two months before the e******n, the president "unilaterally" declared a new 1.7-million-acre national monument in Southern Utah. CNN's Wolf Blitzer did not shy from the implicit controversy. He reported that the people of Utah were "furious." They claimed that it was "a land grab" by the federal government "at the economic expense of the state."

Blitzer raised the issue of coal, perhaps $1 trillion's worth of clean, low-sulfur coal that would never be mined. Blitzer, however, did not know the deeper significance of the coal. Clinton did. Said the president of this grand environmental gesture, "We can't have mines everywhere, and we shouldn't have mines that threaten our national treasures." No, not everywhere, just in Indonesia. In a stroke of the pen, Clinton had handed the Riadys a monopoly on the world's supply of low-sulfur coal.

Although Blitzer did not make the connection, the FBI did. As an FBI agent observed after his interview with John Huang, "HUANG laughed in response to questions concerning j. riady's interest in Utah coal restrictions."

Huang and the Clintons and their cronies are laughing still. They have convinced some healthy percentage of the Republican establishment that making a crude comment eleven years ago is a greater sin than betraying America for campaign cash.

The New York Times editorial page warns this weekend that Hillary Clinton is dangerous because of her “establishmentarian type of folly.”

Ross Douthat opines:

The dangers of a Hillary Clinton presidency are more familiar than Trump’s authoritarian unknowns, because we live with them in our politics already. They’re the dangers of elite groupthink, of Beltway power worship, of a cult of p**********l action in the service of dubious ideals. They’re the dangers of a recklessness and radicalism that doesn’t recognize itself as either, because it’s convinced that if an idea is mainstream and commonplace among the great and good then it cannot possibly be folly.

Almost every crisis that has come upon the West in the last 15 years has its roots in this establishmentarian type of folly. The Iraq War, which liberals prefer to remember as a conflict conjured by a neoconservative cabal, was actually the work of a bipartisan interventionist consensus, pushed hard by George W. Bush but embraced as well by a large slice of center-left opinion that included Tony Blair and more than half of Senate Democrats.

Likewise the financial crisis: Whether you blame financial-services deregulation or happy-go-lucky housing policy (or both), the policies that helped inflate and pop the bubble were embraced by both wings of the political establishment. Likewise with the euro, the European common currency, a terrible idea that only cranks and Little Englanders dared oppose until the Great Recession exposed it as a potentially economy-sinking folly. Likewise with Angela Merkel’s grand and reckless open-borders gesture just last year: She was the heroine of a thousand profiles even as she delivered her continent to polarization and violence.

This record of elite folly — which doesn’t even include lesser case studies like our splendid little war in Libya — is a big part of why the United States has a “let’s try crazy” candidate in this e******n, and why there are so many Trumpian parties thriving on European soil.

The New York Times has endorsed Hillary Clinton, with an endorsement that sounded remarkably similar to Clinton campaign literature.

The Clinton campaign is running commercials showing a woman saying that she does not agree broadly with Clinton, “but she’s reasonable.” Oprah Winfrey endorsed her as well, saying, “You don’t have to like her.”

Republican New York Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney is warning v**ers against supporting Hillary Clinton citing Clinton’s “failed” record in New York state.

“[Clinton’s] failed policies– NAFTA, pay-to-play, corporate welfare– all those things have destroyed central New York,” Tenney told listeners on Breitbart News Saturday. “Can you imagine if she’s President what’s going to happen to the country? It’s going to be terrible NAFTA deals on steroids, pay-to-play, the entire White House is going to be for sale. It’s a nightmare. Those policies have caused this problem right in our area.”

Tenney, who is running for the U.S. House seat in New York’s 22nd Congressional district, explained that Clinton “promised 200,000 jobs when she was running for Senate” in 2000, but Tenney says Clinton failed to deliver. Instead “we’ve lost probably three or four hundred thousand manufacturing jobs out of the state,” Tenney said. “We have the largest out migration of population. We have some of the highest taxes, probably the highest taxes in the nation. We have the second highest energy costs. We are the least free state in the country.”

Tenney told Breitbart that there are “very few manufactures left in central New York” as a result of the trade policies backed by Clinton such as NAFTA.

My grandfather started [our family business] 70 years ago in 1946 right in the heart of [New York’s 22nd Congressional District]… We do pharmaceutical packaging… but our business is a perfect example: we are one of the very few manufactures left in central New York because of NAFTA. We actually lost jobs because of these bad trade deals… We had a customer who was in New York that moved to Mexico because of a Mexico trade deal and now we lost about $800,000 a year in manufacturing on our side… but it’s happening not just to us, but to businesses all over. Every day you read in the papers about somebody leaving for other areas.

New York state, Tenney explained, has become “the home of corporate welfare, we’re the home of crony capitalism, of pay-to-play. I mean, just look at what has happened in New York state… And who is the biggest, croniest corporate welfare, pay-to-play person besides Andrew Cuomo? Hillary Clinton. And she’s running for president.”

Multiple reports have confirmed Clinton’s failure to deliver the type of job growth she had promised her constituents. In August, the Washington Post reported on Clinton’s record in a piece titled, “As Senator, Clinton Promised 200,000 Jobs in Upstate New York. Her Efforts Fell Flat.” The Washington Post wrote:

Despite Clinton’s efforts, upstate job growth stagnated overall during her tenure, with manufacturing jobs plunging nearly 25 percent, according to jobs data. The former first lady was unable to pass the big-ticket legislation she introduced to benefit the upstate economy. She turned to smaller-scale projects, but some of those fell flat after initial glowing headlines, a Washington Post review shows. Many promised jobs never materialized and others migrated to other states as she turned to her first p**********l run, said former officials who worked with her in New York. Clinton’s self-styled role as economic promoter also showcases an operating style that has come to define the political and money-making machine known to some critics of the former first couple as Clinton Inc. Some of her pet economic projects involved loyal campaign contributors, who also supported the Clinton Foundation.

The report also highlighted Clinton’s decision to join forces with the controversial Indian outsourcing firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and help Tata open a a software development center in Buffalo. Clinton, who then co-chaired the Senate India Caucus, “came under fire for aligning with a global leader in outsourcing that relied heavily on foreign workers who were in the United States on temporary visas,” the Washington Post wrote, further noting that:

Clinton defended outsourcing, telling CNN in 2004, “You know, outsourcing does work both ways.’’

Ron Hira, an outsourcing critic then in Rochester, branded the Tata deal an obvious Clinton outreach to “the Indian American donor class.”

“From an economic development perspective, bringing in Tata was just a terrible idea,” said Hira, an Indian American who is a professor at Howard University.

Interestingly, the Washington Post notes that Tata has donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Clinton Foundation: “Although foreign nationals cannot contribute to U.S. campaigns, Clinton has won campaign support from the Indian American community, records show. And Tata has remained friendly to the Clintons. Tata Consultancy Services contributed between $25,000 and $50,000 to the Clinton Foundation, and Ratan Tata, then chairman of the Tata Group, was a speaker at the Clinton Global Initiative conference in 2010.”
