Health director who approved Obama birth certificate dies in plane crash

The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday.
Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday.
The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed.
Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to access certified copies of his birth certificate, signed by the delivery doctor, Obama’s mother and the local registrar. His mother, then 18, signed her name (Stanley) Ann Dunham Obama.

Shopper SHOCKED When He Found A Receipt and Saw The EBT Balance

Food stamps and similar programs help millions of people across America get the food they need to make sure their families eat well. When it comes to getting food on the tables of needy Americans, EBT and other food stamp programs offer a tremendous help. In recent years, stricter regulations have been put on these programs including work requirements and drug tests making sure only the truly deserving obtain the service.
But recently, one shopper was stunned when he found a receipt crumbled up on the ground. He picked it up and took a look. That’s when he noticed a shocking sight. The food stamp recipient had a huge balance available for grocery purchases. This must be some kind of mistake…
After an EBT participant carelessly dropped the receipt on the ground, the nosey shopper picked it up and stole a look at the details on it. The person immediately noticed the $38.85 bill for groceries which was normal enough.
But right below that the EBT food balance was listed as $5583.42. That means the food stamps recipient could spent nearly $5,600 on food at the taxpayer’s expense…
As you know, none of the money used to buy grocery on food stamps comes out of the recipient’s pocket. The taxpayer is the one footing the bill.
The shopper had purchased their food at the Save a Lot in Liberty, Kentucky. Some people now say they’re moving to Kentucky is the government supports it’s poor like that.
It is well known and documented that some welfare balances can be shockingly high. Sometimes people get up to $10,000 to spend on necessary things.
“When you first told me about it, I was surprised. I’ve been involved with this for years and I had no idea why they would have balances of those size,” Joele Potts, of the Ohio Job and Family Services Directors Association, told WBNS.
Fortunately, most people who rely on government support are honest and hard-working people who just need a leg up in life. They’re usually down on their luck and programs like food stamps help keep them going.
“What we found in general is these are people being extremely frugal,” Potts said.
There is an eligibility formula that determines how much each food stamps recipient will receive from the government. Factors like number of child and whether or not the recipient is married vary how much money the taxpayer hands over to the qualified person.

At a news conference at police headquarters, Superintendent Eddie Johnson lamented the gun violence that ensnared the city’s West and South sides, casting much of the blame on “anti-police sentiment,” and the judicial system’s lax sentencing guidelines for repeat gun offenders.
“In many instances, the individuals who chose to pull the trigger are repeat gun offenders emboldened by the national climate against law enforcement and willing to test the limits of our criminal justice system,” Johnson said. “… These emboldened criminals are responsible for destroying families and communities as well as dozens of attacks on Chicago police officers in 2016.”
Data kept by the Chicago Tribune tallied at least 781 homicides for the year; the Police Department statistics do not include k*****gs on area expressways, police-involved shootings, other homicides in which a person was k**led in self-defense or death investigations.

Nearly 20 years ago, acclaimed sociologist Elijah Anderson warned of its coming in his 1994 study titled “Code of the Street: Decency, Violence and the Moral Life of the Inner City.”
“The inclination to violence springs from the circumstances of life among the ghetto poor — the lack of jobs that pay a living wage, the stigma of race, the fallout from rampant drug use and drug trafficking, and the resulting alienation and lack of hope for the future,” wrote Anderson, a professor of sociology at Yale University.
The code of the street has not changed, but other components of daily life in distressed neighborhoods have.
“The gangs are more splintered today, but also gang members have social media at their disposal. This is one reason why you can have so many k*****gs at one time, say over a weekend, over Christmas,” Anderson said.
“At one point, gangs were better organized, which limited the violence and the k*****g. Today, more young people are freelancing,” he said.

As humans continue to heat the planet, a northward shift of Earth’s wind and rain belts could make a broad swath of regions drier, including the Middle East, American West and Amazonia, while making Monsoon Asia and equatorial Africa wetter, says a new study in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
The study authors base their prediction on the warming that brought Earth out of the last ice age, some 15,000 years ago. As the North Atlantic Ocean began to churn more vigorously, it melted Arctic sea ice, setting up a temperature contrast with the southern hemisphere where sea ice was expanding around Antarctica. The temperature gradient between the poles appears to have pushed the tropical rain belt and mid-latitude jet stream north, redistributing water in two bands around the planet.
Today, with Arctic sea ice again in retreat, and the northern hemisphere heating up faster than the south, history could repeat itself. “If the kinds of changes we saw during the deglaciation were to occur today that would have a very big impact,” said the study’s lead author, Wallace Broecker, a climate scientist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
Marshaling climate data collected from around the world, from tree-rings, polar ice cores, cave formations, and lake and ocean sediments, Broecker and study coauthor, Aaron Putnam, a climate scientist at Lamont-Doherty, hypothesize that the wind and rain belts shifted north from about 14,600 years ago to 12,700 years ago as the northern hemisphere was heating up.
