I was a professional firefighter for nearly 20 years, Nik, so please don't make a fool of yourself trying to explain anything to me about fire science. Fires contained inside buildings, rooms, or any other enclosed spaces ARE NOT open flame fires, they are compartmentalized fires. Open flame fires are those in which the fuel and heat are both located in open air, such as brush fires, camp fires, or a wooden building fully involved in fire. Compartment fires are an entirely different animal.

All the fires in the twin towers were compartmentalized. Even though we see flames escaping through windows and blown out walls, the fuel and heat sources are still contained inside the building. For a host of reasons, fire behavior in enclosed or partially enclosed spaces can be extreme resulting in temperatures and conditions that are dangerous, not only to human life but to the structure itself. Combustion can occur in enclosed spaces where temperatures are very high yet no flame is produced, just superheated gases and particles. in such conditions temps can attain 1800 to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, or if you wish, 982 to 1093 degrees Celsius, and these conditions, known as flash over, have k**led many firefighters.

The 900 degrees Celsius that you quoted is 1652 degrees Fahrenheit, definitely hot enough to turn steel red hot and weaken it critically. Support steel under compression loads heated to this temperature will FAIL.

There have been hundreds of takeoffs and landings with remote control 757's for years ~ as a matter of fact, these landings are more accurate than humane pilot landings ~ If you watch the ground crews working on commerical airlines out on the tarmacs, you will see them hook-up their "roll around consoles" to these jets which takes over "full control" of these planes ~ Once connected the pilots have no control whatsoever over these aircraft ~

As for the building uprights, these were what the buildings were "suspended" on ~ sorta like free standing with attachments ~ it is absolutely impossible that these beams would all break apart with the same slanted cuts ~ if you were to buy the pancakel effect, then these uprights would have remained independant and would have remained mostly entact with some twists, etc ~ If was also a bit suspect that these [Thermite cut beams] were rapidly hauled off in a caravan of trucks that had GPS systems installed to monitor them so they could get evidence loaded on bargages and off to China for salvage sales??

Of all of the hundreds of unanswered questions, I find that the most "hard to swallow' is that a fairly fragile airframe of these jets can just blow right through 3 walls of 3 feet thick re-enforced w steel walls of the Pentagon?? Many small missiles will not even do this feat!!!

And for the noted scientist that were trying to explain away everything; I never heard their explanation of how all of these cars in the surrounding areas were catching on fire and explosing from the "INSIDE" out and and not ignited from the outside in by smoke and dust? EMP of their electrical systems....

And now for a simulation of what the Parkland shooting would have looked like if Nicholas Cruz had the most advanced firearm available at the time the 2nd Amendment was ratified...

He walks into the building carrying a British Land Pattern Musket. He stops for a moment to reach for a paper cartridge, bites down on the tail to tear it open. He half-cocks the musket and pushes the frizzen forward to open the flash pan. He pours a small amount of the black powder from the cartridge into the pan, then pulls the frizzen back. Meanwhile kids are gathering around wondering what he's doing. Next he holds the musket with the muzzle pointing up being careful not to spill the powder out of the pan. He pours the rest of the black powder into the barrel. Then he pushes a lead ball in the barrel. Next he wads up the empty cartridge and pushes that into the barrel. After that he removes the ramrod from the channel beneath the barrel and rams the paper wadding and the lead ball down the barrel into the breach. Then he looks up at the kids as he put the ramrod back in the channel. He raises the weapon... and he fires.

The kids all look at him with wide eyes... the shot breaks a window. He missed his target because it was too far away, he needs to get at least within a few yards for any accuracy but the kids panic a little and start backing away. The shooter shakes his head and reaches for another cartridge bites down, rips it open, half cocks the musket. A teacher comes out and says "what's going on?" One of the kids scream - "It's a mass shooting!" Suddenly the whole school is freaked and they start running for cover, meanwhile the shooter having poured some black powder into the flash pan, pulls the frizzen back and carefully tips the musket upward, again being careful not to spill the powder, and pours the rest of the powder into the barrel, followed by another lead ball then the wadded up paper cartridge. Then he uses the ramrod again to push it all down to the breach, put the ramrod back in the channel then tries to find a target... Ah, the kid on crutches I can catch him he thought but no, the kid managed to escape through the exit. The shooter looks out a window to see kids running around and screaming and a deputy Sheriff hiding behind a car on the radio calling for back up.

"Sir there's a sho, a sho, a shooting..."
"At the school?"
"Yeah. I need help"
"How many?"
"One shooter."
"What's he got?"
"A Land Pattern Musket."
"A what?"
"A Brown Bess!"
"Well go in there and take it. Damnit"
"But he might hurt me."

Suddenly there's another explosion and a plume of smoke.

"What was that?"
"That was him he just fired again."
"Get him now... He can't fire again until loaded that gives you like 30 seconds."
"Oh, yeah."

So the deputy jumps out from behind the car and runs toward the door where the shooter is pouring black powder into his flash pan, for dramatic effect the deputy starts running in slow motion. The shooter pulls back the frizzen and tilts the musket upward... The deputy takes another slow motion lunge... "Aaaaaaaaargh!!!!" The shooter pours the rest of the powder in the barrel, then another lead ball then the paper wad. The deputy is within range now still screaming and running in slow motion. The shooter takes the ram rod to barrel and pushes ball and paper down to the breach, the deputy jumps on him, takes the musket away and becomes a hero.

Total casualties... one broken window, one destroyed locker and one shattered perception that the Founders who wrote the 2nd Amendment could have ever thought one kid with one gun could possibly k**l 17 kids in six minutes.

Don't even start, Trump supporters don't have a clue what the constitution is, and they don't give a damn when the GOP writes their own rules when it suits their purposes. They change the rules to fit their agenda, then when dems try to do the same thing Mitch McConnell gets all indignant and forgets the rules he used for things like senate confirmations as one example. McConnell submitted a comprehensive list defining how Obama confirmations would be done, that they would not happen until the FBI and OGE vetted them. If the GOP had complied with the rules they enforced for Obama nominees Trump still would not have a single one, they never would have gotten through the FBI and ethics part of the process.

Not that I need to ask, but what did you think of McConnell refusing to confirm Obama's SCOTUS pick Merrick? Wait until the e******n to serve the will of the people? Let the people decide? One year was plenty of time, the people already spoke when they elected Obama the second time, the people wanted Obama's person to go through the confirmation process. Yeah, the right is all about following the constitution.

The constitution says it's legal to have an a******n, conservatives think the constitution takes a back seat to the bible. E******n laws mean nothing to red states with majorities and supermajorities, they do what they want in obvious violation of constitutional laws, when challenged and blocked by their state supreme courts they just move it up to the US supreme court. The right doesn't care about the law. Trump has been blocked by circuit courts for violations of the constitution several times, that is Trump's regard for the constitution.

This is a far better supporting link. One problem I see is they combined evidence from well respected unbiased sources such as the CDC, with biased propaganda organizations such as Guttmacher Institute. If you look just at the CDC, the conclusion is opposite of what this study reached. The other problem is that when a woman dies from complications after having an a******n, the death certificate will not mention a******n. No where in the article is there a breakdown on what the cause of deaths were. They simply numbered the deaths. For example, the direct immediate cause may be either emboli or stroke due to a blood clot. Yet the clot may be due to the a******n. The death certificate will list the stroke or emboli but not what caused the clot in the first place.

So while I find the study to be interesting and based on much factual information; the inclusion of biased reports and the elimination of certain other information (such as the causes behind the "cause of death"); it results in this study being flawed. But I applaud you on making the attempt!

OBJECTIVE: To assess the safety of a******n compared with childbirth.

METHODS: We estimated mortality rates associated with live births and legal induced a******ns in the United States in 1998–2005. We used data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Pregnancy Mortality Surveillance System, birth certificates, and Guttmacher Institute surveys. In addition, we searched for population-based data comparing the morbidity of a******n and childbirth.

RESULTS: The pregnancy-associated mortality rate among women who delivered live neonates was 8.8 deaths per 100,000 live births. The mortality rate related to induced a******n was 0.6 deaths per 100,000 a******ns. In the one recent comparative study of pregnancy morbidity in the United States, pregnancy-related complications were more common with childbirth than with a******n.

CONCLUSION: Legal induced a******n is markedly safer than childbirth. The risk of death associated with childbirth is approximately 14 times higher than that with a******n. Similarly, the overall morbidity associated with childbirth exceeds that with a******n.

LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: II

There may be some unborn babies floating around in the wombs of protesters who will be at Saturdays March march against school shootings & the NRA. It would be a shame to see them die under a false f**g for the purpose of some political agenda.
