The only ones trying to make America a dictatorship are the Trumplicans with Trump being their preferred dictator. If you were honest with yourself, you would see this. Tell me, what steps have any others taken to RESTRICT v****g? ONLY the so called conservatives seem hell bent to RESTRICT the v**e. That SHOULD tell you a little something about your chosen party and their intentions, but it won't. The Democrats are no angels either. They have their obvious flaws as well, but at least they don't want to disenfranchise v**ers by knocking the legal v**ers off the v****g rolls and make it harder for them to get back on or to v**e. Republicans are trying to limit the v****g drop boxes, especially in urban areas and predominantly minority neighborhoods, limit the number of days the polls are open and severely cut back on the hours they are open, cut back on the overall number of polling areas, refusing to make e******n day a holiday, severely limit how many and who can v**e by mail. With the exception of making e******n day a holiday, all the other points in that last statement are specifically designed to not only make it harder to v**e but ALSO create longer lines at the polling places, another key way to discourage v**ers, long lines. Then to top THAT off, in some states, NOBODY is allowed to offer food or water to those waiting in line to v**e, regardless of party affiliation or even those without any party affiliation.
So, long lines, illegal to give aid or comfort to those suffering those long lines even if in a non-partisan way. Yeah, that shouldn't be considered trying to restrict the v****g in any way...
So, tell me again which party SEEMS more autocratic to you... Lower v**er turnout tends to favor Republicans, that is well known, especially to the powers that be within the Republican party.
I shall even post this below for you to consider, it is from Wikipedia but worth reading and considering.

Ease of v****g
Ease of v****g is a factor in rates of turnout. In the United States and most Latin American nations, v**ers must go through separate v***r r**********n procedures before they are allowed to v**e. This two-step process quite clearly decreases turnout. US states with no, or easier, registration requirements have larger turnouts.[100] Other methods of improving turnout include making v****g easier through more available absentee polling and improved access to polls, such as increasing the number of possible v****g locations, lowering the average time v**ers have to spend waiting in line, or requiring companies to give workers some time off on v****g day.[which?] In some areas, generally those where some polling centres are relatively inaccessible, such as India, e******ns often take several days. Some countries have considered Internet v****g as a possible solution. In other countries, like France, v****g is held on the weekend, when most v**ers are away from work. Therefore, the need for time off from work as a factor in v**er turnout is greatly reduced.
Many countries have looked into Internet v****g as a possible solution for low v**er turnout. Some countries like France and Switzerland use Internet v****g. However, it has only been used sparingly by a few states in the US. This is due largely to security concerns. For example, the US Department of Defense looked into making Internet v****g secure, but cancelled the effort.[101] The idea would be that v**er turnout would increase because people could cast their v**e from the comfort of their own homes, although the few experiments with Internet v****g have produced mixed results.[102]
A 2017 study found that the opening and closing hours of polling places determines the age demographics of turnout: turnout among younger v**ers is higher the longer polling places are open and turnout among older v**ers decreases the later polling places open.[103] A 2021 study that used an experiment in Philadelphia found that postcards by e******n officials encouraging registrants to v**e by mail boosted turnout in the 2020 primary e******ns by 0.4 percentage points.[104]

The Democrats have been pushing for easier access to the v****g booth, Republicans have been pushing for more "hoops to jump through", which party does it seem that WANTS more Americans to v**e? Which party seems to WANT LESS Americans to v**e? Which party SEEMS more autocratic, the one that wants MORE Americans to v**e or LESS Americans to v**e? Use logic, not fallacies and propaganda.
