malestrom-you forgot to mention that it is the democrats who created the nanny state and continue to expand programs for the lazies paid for by the workers of both parties. It is the democrats who are hell bent on giving 12 million i******s amnesty so they can increase their v**er rolls. It is the democrats who are all knowing and all caring and believe they nobody can take care of themselves and need their assistance from cradle to grave. It is the democrats who control government who bear the responsibility for having 23 million unemployed and 47 million on food stamps. It is the democrats who have burdened the private sector, with regulations they themselves do not understand, and caused jobs to disappear. It is the democrats who think government can create jobs when in fact they have trouble organizing a one care funeral procession. We know all about the democrats in power and how disastrous this scandal ridden administration has been. They spend more time and money trying to cover their tracks then serving the American people. We are well aware of the Liar-in-Chief, Slimy Harry, Botox Nancy and the rest of the mind numbed robotic l***hes sucking the country dry. Good Luck America !!!

Medical research has indicated that people like schizophrenics, or people suffering from mania, cannot distinguish between voices outside of themselves and the self-talk that goes inside their head. It’s just a simple biologic matter of that particular brain not being able to make that distinction.

Democrats have that same problem.

And here’s why: the only voices that are truly outside Democrats’ heads are voices from the opposition that they pay no attention to.

Criticism to Democrats is like a dog whistle. They just can’t hear that frequency.

The media, the bureaucracy, the economists, the government funded nongovernmental organizations and academia all speak inside the Democrat brain. And Democrats can’t distinguish this internal self-talk from legitimate outside praise.

So like people who suffer from delusions, it’s just a simple matter of Democrats not being able to make the distinction between self-talk and reality.

Yesterday on Ransom Notes Radio we ran a clip of Mike McKee, the eternal optimist for Bloomberg (media), talking about how the numbers indicated that we could be looking at 4% annual growth in GDP this quarter.

Of course I made fun of him, and today it's hard for me to see how recent consumer spending numbers would be consistent with that type of robust GDP growth. We have yet to see sustained economic growth under the Obama administration, or the Carter administration for that matter.

For the second day in a row the Commerce Department released numbers that caught economist off guard and demonstrated once again that all the "happy talk" about the economy is premature. In April consumer expenditures fell rather than rose, as economist widely expected. From Bloomberg:

Household purchases, which account for about 70 percent of the economy, dropped 0.1 percent, the first decrease in a year, after a revised 1 percent gain the prior month that was the strongest reading since August 2009, Commerce Department figures showed today in Washington. The median forecast of 77 economists in a Bloomberg survey called for a 0.2 percent April rise. Incomes advanced 0.3 percent after climbing 0.5 percent.

And since they can't blame the weather in April, what's the rationale to explain how they missed the decline in consumer spending? They blame the weather of course-- again.

Economists are saying the pent-up demand in March--because of the terrible winter weather prior to that-- skewed the numbers upward, and that in April we are just coming back to a more realistic spending pattern.

“A lot of pent-up activity took place in March and now we’re coming back to more normal levels of spending,” said Stephen Stanley, chief economist at Pierpont Securities LLC in Stamford, Connecticut. Stanley was one of economists who correctly predicted the decline. “The risk at this point is that the consumer is falling back into a pattern of mediocre spending growth.”

And herein we see the problem: I don't know what alternate reality economist live in, but certainly a 1/10% drop in consumer spending isn't mediocre spending growth. Either Stanley or I have the math wrong here. So if I carry the 2, divide by 13, use only whole numbers... yes: a drop in consumer spending is STILL the opposite of growth.

Yet, the media, the bureaucracy, the economists, the government funded nongovernmental organizations and academia are only hearing their self-talk inside the Democrat brain.

We are six years into this same pattern. And the Democrat brain is still saying the same things, even though the reality says something very different.

The bond market is telling us that this economy is in trouble. Stock markets do rally during recessions, so don’t take this market top as a sign that everything’s great. And… inflationary pressures are beginning to heat up a little bit. Get ready for stagflation. Oh, wait, it's already here.

At what point do Democrats start to scramble for self-preservation? Because if the pattern holds true, this economy is going down, not up. Quantitative Easing, at least in the short term, made up a bit for all of the policy initiatives from Democrats that k**led jobs.

Those days are over, as even the liberals at the Fed have indicated.

And as I pointed out, mid-terms are coming up…really soon.

I truly believe that the Democrats can no longer distinguish between their own internal self-talk and reality.

And that’s why before these things get a little better, things are getting a lot worse.

The Republicans are courting extinction with the voices in their own heads. These voices are elderly, white, and cranky. The voices in their heads that they try to ignore?

Those would be the voices of B****s, Hispanics, and women of child bearing age. You know, the folks who provide the margin of victory in p**********l e******ns.

The voices they listen to, include the inaugural addresses of President McCain and President Romney.

Your tough-man attitude just goes to show just how badly you DO need a stand your ground law to protect you, the shooter, if you ever have to shoot someone who threatens your or your families life. These laws are enacted so some slick lawyer can't come back in a civil trial and sue you for everything you have and will ever have. A good sound stand your ground law have provisions that protect the shooter from this ever happening. So get off your high horse, Rambo, and start using a little common sense for a change.

............... and this is the way it should be.. I'm so s**k of having to listen to an operator say... Click 1 for English and Click 2 for Spanish... I not only have to listen to that crap constantly. .. but when you go anywhere.. they ask you the same thing.. This country was not built on Spanish.. It was built on English.. and English is what we should speak.. if the i******s wanna live here... they need to speak English.. why should we as US citizens have to learn their lingo for..

It not just that way on the phone.. but if you go to a Dr. office.. they will have a Mexican clerk there.. who speaks both languages... what has this country become.. Mexico... I feel like learning Chinese and see if they will answer me in that language... it's d********g..

These places seem to cater to the i******s and not the citizens of this country... WHY????

This has been a little like "Press 1 for English" on steroids. This morning I went to the ATM at my local bank to withdraw some cash, and there was a question on the first screen which asked what language I wanted to proceed in. This was a new one on me. Then I went to Denny's for a late breakfast and I was given a menu in Spanish! This was also a new one on me. I immediately pointed this out to the hostess and was given a menu in English.

Hasn't this gotten a little out of hand? You know this is a result of i*****l i*********n, and anyone who tells you that the problem is going away because of lower numbers of i******s coming into the country is just lying or ignorant. Wh**ever happened to immigrants assimilating and learning our language? English was the language of this country and immigrants were expected to learn it until now, when apparently the citizens of this country have to cater to the immigrants, even the illegal ones. I don't know exactly what can be done, but this needs to stop before we lose our country, and losing our language could be the first way that will happen. They don't call this state "Mexifornia" for nothing.
