Our government is made up of hundreds of thousands of employees. The vast majority are hard working, have a vested interest in doing a good job and most importantly are good patriotic Americans. Do I trust my Mailman, doctors at the CDC, the inspector who insures safe food production, the air traffic controller who guides the aircraft my family flys, the soldiers, sailors and marines who serve us around the world? In a nutshell the answer is yes. I realize that in any organization there are some who are dishonest, the same is true of government but to believe there is some great conspiricy of tens of thousands of public health careemployees to somehow arbitrarily lock people in mental institutions is ludicrous.

Our government should have no role in mental health screening, especially with regard to treatment. The track record of government shows that they are ineffective and over-zealous. They have shown that they will find a way to either tax or make a profit on anything they become involved with. The Federal government is already "drunk with power" over people (including the USSC), to give them even more power is ludicrous as well as dangerous. They already use the 10th amendment to manipulate situations to their advantage. They screwed up health care, energy, etc. They could screw up a solid steel ball.

Do you remember how much e******n f***d there were in the last two national e******ns? Do you know how much noise there has been about picture ID or not for these e******ns? If you remember all that here is an example of what is going on in New Hampshire these days. I would not be surprised to learn that maybe even thousands of non-registered v**ers v**ed there yesterday.

It seems little headway was made by the New Hampshire legislature when they were told to clean up their v****g laws.

The Democrats pick an isolated case like this to prove their broad general point. It's political, not a human issue which is their goal. Picture ID is required for almost everything we do today including applying for a library card, cashing a check, picking up a prescription or as a new patient at a doctors office or in an emergency room. So why not require it where fraud is very possible like in v****g? They claim to be progressives, so why not show it by living in the 21st Century world for heavens sakes? Even though it is i***tic and unreasonable, they will probably push this down our throats like the l*****ts do everything else in this tanking country.

The First Amendment was intended to prevent organized religion from gaining the political power that the Churches in Europe exercised. The Roman Catholic Church's power in both France and Spain rivaled and sometimes exceeded that of the secular government. It was, in effect, a State Religion. You could not become a Spanish subject unless you converted. I believe the same was true of France. The line of separation between Church and State was so blurred it was indistinguishable.
The nonsense about prayer in schools, (legal for most of this country's history ), and religious observances in public places, prayer before Government functions has been a fixture for most of our nation's history, and has only been re-written in the last 50 years or so by activist, Liberal Judges who think they are Congressmen.

OZ: I find a defect in your logic. U may not realize that welfare up or down does effect you. I effects America. All monies that are paid out in entitlement is borrowed. The question is not that your taxes do not go up, it is when will they go up. And they will, When money is not borrowed it means that the ND (National Debt) will stop growing. If it does not stop growing the results will be the destruction of the economy. It does not mean that the ND will get any smaller; it is such that taxes have to be raised in order to stop the borrowing. There is a gamble with the interest on the ND. For every 1% rise increases the costs to $200,000,000,000. Analysis project the interest on the ND to be $808 billion in 2025. Being in business 40 years, I have analyzed my cash flow and balance sheets for a long time. Taxes can be trippled but cannot pay for a ND reduction and all other components of society as of today. 3/4 of a billion was paid last years to i******s for health insurance. Obama promised that would not happen. Remember Congressman Brown calling Obama a liar. He was right but, the pansy ass Republicans castrated him and gave Obama everything he wanted except Obamacare. Hundreds of billions of moola is spent foolishly or just wasted, like 10s of billions paid out by the IRS to fraud. The ND and the interest owed on is is the biggest Nuke to ever hit the USA.

Louie, The meaning of the First Amendment is clear. The Congress shall MAKE NO LAW respecting the establishment respecting the establishment of a religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, etc. In Everson v Board of Education (1947) the court called for " a wall go separation between church and state " as Thomas Jefferson called for. This separation is what gives us freedom of religion. For those that disagree with the First Amendment, I suggest a vacation to The Islamic Republic of Iran to check out what society might look like without freedom go religion. This amendment is one of the great things about America, lets not screw it up!
