Of course the rabid right deflects when asked what rights have been revoked since january 2009.

The "Patriot" Act, which gave government the right to secretly collect information and generally shred the constitutional right to privacy, was adopted by a Republican Congress and signed into the by a Republican president. That Obama hasn't repealed all of it is a shame on him. (he has replied parts of it, but not all. There's no move in the Republican house to send the "Patriot" act.

Free speech zones for protesters were started by George W. Bush, who purposely had the Secret SErvice set up venues for those who opposed his policies, zones usually blocks, if not a mile or more, from where the president spoke. I've heard that Obama has done similar things and shame on him if he has. But the practice is not as pervasive as it was under George W. Bush.

There has been no federal government action that prevents you from seeing any one particular doctor. That's mostly insurance companies that tell you a doctor is "not in your network." The ACA is a cluster**k of a law because it does nothing but force people to get insurance from private insurance companies. Nothing to lower the cost and increase the availability of health care will be done until the government forms some sort of agency or allows for a government-reulated non-profit monopoly to control all health care in the US. Our "free market" system is the reason why a clonoscopy costs between $1,500 to $5,000 in the US and $400 in Canada. It's why the price of the new cure for hepatitis C costs $28,000 in the US and $2,500 in Canada. I've received health care in Canada after a serious auto accident in 1988.

Within two weeks of my arrival a public health nurse came to my sister's house 9where I was staying) to evaluate my needs. Within a week, a public t***sit bus picked me up at curbside and took me to a world class physical rehab facility where I received care as good, if not better, than in the US. And my insurance company loved it. the costs were 40 percent lower than similar care would have cost in the US.

Gun control? Well, I'm sure Obama would like to ban assault weapons, but that's not going to happen. As will nothing to keep firearms out of the hands of crazy people. I'm a firm believer in the Second Amendment, but would find no problem with laws requiring firearms owners to report the theft of a firearm or any law that would require people with serious mental illness to relinquish their firearms. As it is, a person only has firearms seized if they are committed to an mental institution by the courts. My brother, who has a serious organic brain injury (from brain surgery gone bad) applied for federal disability in 2002. Between 2002 and when he received his disability in early 2004, he was able to get 10 handgun permits in the State of New Jersey, a state with what are considered onerous gun control laws.

I think the issue of the Prozac class of drugs is probably one aspect of gun control that is overlooked. Although it often isn't stated, some research on my part showed that most of the young whackos who committed mass murrders in Newtown, Tucson, colorado (including Columbine) were all on the one type of the Prozac class of drugs (SSRIs or SRRIs?) Perhaps it would be appropriate if anyone under 25 or 30 should be deprived of firearms ownership if they are on this class of drug. Drastic, but probably as effective as keeping firearms away from law abiding citizens.

And I have no problem with a national firearms registry or a background check of ALL firearms purchases. WE have so many firearms in this nation and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Keeping track of where they are doesn't violate the Second Amendment as long as it's no used to deprive someone of the right to buy or own a firearm.

But rabid right wing paranoia has no bounds. there is this attempt to claim the basic relationship between the government and it's citizens has changed rustically since 2009. It's just not so. Obama is nothing but another member of the Bush Crime Family. Nothing more, nothing less.

the Annenberg Challenge is a private organization that gave tensor millions to schools across the nation. Obama served as chairman for a short while and Bill Ayers was one of a dozen authors of the organization's original mission statements. Some righties have criticized the organization because they prefer a voucher system. Annenberg, of the Time Magazine empire, believed in public schools and helped bring more money from more private non-profits into public schools nationwide.

Is this sinister?

Bill Ayers has never been convicted of a crime. In our society, a person has the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

Those two right wing nut jobs who k**led five in Las Vegas including two police officers execution style will get their day in court. But I notice a complete lack of mention of this incident by the right. It's "Bill Ayers belonged to the Weather Underground 45 years ago."

But I know-the right can do nothing wrong and the slightly left of center is responsible for all of the nations ills. Keep the blinders on.

Lies, big lies, and damned lies. The Obama team offers a disingenuous blend of fact and fiction in trying to cover up the true relationship between Obama and Ayers. The devil is in the detials and details do matter:

Ayers is just a guy who lives in my neighborhood, a tenured professor, and adviser to the local mayor

Ayers does live in Barack’s neighborhood (or vice versa). In fact, Barack and Bill currently live about two blocks apart on Greenwood Avenue and 50th Street. And before Barack’s “boneheaded” deal with convicted felon Rezko to purchase the Greenwood mansion, Obama lived about 1-1/4 miles from Bill. But the dismissive “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood” is a lie because Ayers was not just some fellow Barack bumped into at the corner market. They have a relationship that goes back nearly 20 years. Ayers was Barack’s friend, employer, colleague, and political supporter.

Ayers also is a tenured professor and multiple reports indicate he also is a buddy of Chicago’s Mayor Richard Daley. In fact, Mayor Daley has defended him during the campaign saying they’ve worked together, that Bill Ayers is a respected educator, and valued member of the Chicago community (Chicago Tribune, April 17, 2008).

It is unfair to say that Ayers’ actions 40 years ago when I was only eight should reflect upon me; anyway, charges against him where dropped and he did not serve any jail time. Plus, I’ve condemned the group’s actions

False. It is entirely fair to judge Barack by the people he surrounds himself with. Bill Ayer’s may have beat the terrorism charges but he has remained resolutely unrepentant about his actions. In 1981 David Horowitz quotes him bragging “Guilty as hell. Free as a bird. America is a great country.” In 2001 he is quoted saying “I don’t regret settings bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” (New York Times, September 11, 2001). Bill’s wife, Bernadine Dohrn went to jail rather than aid the government after the deadly Brinks armored car robbery. I like the comment at Hot Air (February 24, 2008) where See-Dubya expresses concern about Barack’s “…frightening tone-deafness toward terrorism, and a blithe ignorance of the evil and chaos these radicals represent.”

Any connection to Ayers is phony, tenuous, or a stretch. It is ridiculous to suggest any tie with Ayers

False. Everything discovered to date undeniably document that Barack Obama and Bill Ayers have personal, professional, and political ties that span nearly 20 years. Steve Diamond believes they likely first met in 1988 following Chicago’s teacher’s strike. Barack was hired into a Woods Fund sponsored position with Developing Communities Project that was a member of Bill Ayers’ Alliance for Better Chicago Schools (ABCs) (Global Labor and Politics, June 7, 2008).

Consider as well:

In November 20, 1997. Michelle Obama, then Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of the University of Chicago Community Service Center, organized and participated in a panel that included Barack and Bill, Should a child ever be called a “super predator?” at the University of Chicago. See also, Chicago Tribune.
In 1997 Barack wrote a review of Bill’s book “A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court”. Chicago Tribune published a blurb from Obama about books he was reading. See also USA Today.
April 19-20, 2002, Barack, Bill, and Bernadine participated in a conference and panel “Intellectuals: Who Needs Them?“. See also, Chicago Tribune.
February 2005. Barack and Bill participated in a conference and dinner for Rashid Khalidi at Columbia wherein they offered testimonials to Khalidi. Mayor Daley also attended this h**e-fest. (See The Sun and Campus Watch for some commentary. Khalidi subsequently lost his position at Columbia because of his comments, see New York Times.)
Ayers did not help launch my career

False. Back in 1995 after Barack Obama had returned to Chicago upon graduating from Harvard Law School, Bill Ayers hired the young Barack, then a third year associate at Davis, miner, Barnhill & Gallad. Together they spent upwards to $160 million dollars over the next seven years. As well, Bill and his wife Bernadine Dohrn feted him to the community as then-State Senator Palmer’s successor.

Early in Barack Obama’s career, he attended one reception in his honor at Ayers’ house

Not the whole t***h. This was not a meet and greet reception. And Barack had more than one isolated sit down with Ayers and Dohrn. The Ayers/Dohrn home is where Barack Obama launched his campaign to oust then-State Senator Alice Palmer. This reception is reported in numerous articles including Ben Smith in Politico (February 22). Maria Warren writes about this gathering in her blog Musings & Migraines on January 27, 2005, “When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They were launching him–introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread.” Ari Berman also reports in The Nation (May 1) that Bill hosted a fundraiser for Barack in 1996. (Possibly an error on Berman’s part as this might be the 1995 event since there is no other mention of a 1996 fundraiser.)

Ayers had nothing to do with my joining Annenberg Challenge. He did not recruit me, nor did he serve on its board

False. Bill Ayers founded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, secured the initial $50 million from Annenberg Challenge, and claims to have co-chaired the Collaborative it with Barack Obama. While there is nothing to explicitly prove that Bill recruited Barack, it is simply not credible to say that Bill Ayers had nothing to do with Barack Obama joining the organization.

I do not exchange ideas with Ayers

Really? Can you say the same thing about your communications director, David Axelrod? According to a source who attended the Democratic National convention in Denver, an old friend of Ayer’s bragged that Axelrod and Ayers are in regular contact and coordinating on how to respond to the claims about the Ayers/Obama relationship.

Ayers has not ‘officially’ endorsed me

Really? So he’s backing McCain? The issue is not who Ayers has endorsed. The issue remains–why did Barack hang out for so many years with a guy like Ayers. Endorsement or not, it is a question that matter.

Ayers has been a politically active member of that community for years

True. First, as a home-grown d******c t*******t, then since around 1987 as a community activist, organizer, and financier. As Lynn Sweet wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times (March 3), “Hyde Park welcomed William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn to the neighborhood after they resurfaced as local civic leaders following their years on the lam as members of the Weather Underground.” She notes Ben Smith observing in Politico (February 22), “While Ayers and Dohrn may be thought of in Hyde Park as local activists, they’re better known nationally as two of the most notorious — and unrepentant — figures from the violent fringe of the 1960s anti-war movement.”

Considering that, it’s actually remarkable how little the two have to do with each other

Oh yeah?! Now this is where the lying really begins. As is increasingly clear, they worked together and shared the same circle of friends and families, same business associates, and same political associates.

They also were separately asked by a charitable organization to serve on that organization’s board

Not true. They were involved in at least three different “charitable” organizations. There was the Woods Fund of Chicago, which Barack joined 1993 and Bill Ayers joined in 1997. But what about the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Ayers founded and worked on with Barack Obama from 1995 through 1999. While Barack chaired the Challenge, Bill co-chaired its Collaborative arm. This was actually three connected organizations: Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC, the Board), Chicago School Reform Collaborative (the Collaborative, and Consortium of Chicago Schools Research (CCSR).

And that’s it. There’s no friendship between the two…

Ben Smith in Politico (February 22) writes that Dr. Quentin Young, a prominent Chicago physician, told him that they were “friends”. At the time Smith dismissed this for lack of supporting information and the denial by Barack Obama. (I wonder if Smith has since reconsidered?). Mayor Daley now says they are friends. Even Bill Burton acknowledges that they were friends.

…no relationship

False. They have family, community, business, and political ties. The only tie they appear to not share regards religion.

…no history of working together

False. Why is the media so reluctant to explore the CAC relationship?

At the risk of being redundant, sometime in 1987 Bill and Bernadine returned home to Chicago, where both had family. Michelle likely already knew both through her Robinson family ties and then in her 1988 work at Sidley Austin, where Bernardine was also employed. It is likely that Barack at least knew of Bill Ayers because he was already involving himself among with the Ayers family and their players in the community. Bill Ayers operated in relative obscurity until February 2008 when his ties to Barack and Michelle Obama became a matter of discussion in Barack’s p**********l aspirations.

As a community organizer in Chicago from 1985 to 1988 Barack Obama received funding from and worked with numerous groups, such as Developing Communities Project. Bill Ayers joined in this arena upon his return in 1987 through his own group, Alliance for Better Chicago Schools (ABCs). They both surely crossed paths as Ayer’s father, Tom, provided funding to Barack and Bill through Chicago United, a group of businessmen concerned about race and education issues in Chicago. Tom Ayers was once CEO of Commonwealth Edison (now Exelon) (Steve Diamond, Global Labor and Politics, June 18, 2008). Michelle, the Robinson daughter, continued her own involvement but details are murky at best. Barack Obama shows up again in Chicago after graduating from Harvard Law School, ends up at Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland, and joins the Woods Fund board, 1993, as a freshly minted 32 year old law school graduate, where he remained through 2002 and continued association with until gaining a seat in the U.S. Senate. Bill Ayers formally joined the board in 1999 but had ties throughout the earlier years, including receiving funds from the group.

Anyway, in 1993 Bill began organizing the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Despite his unrepentant terrorist past he succeeded in securing nearly $50 million from Annenberg Challenge and immediately named Barack as his co-chair. Together over the next five years they spent at least $110 million for “radical” school reform in Chicago (Steve Diamond, Global Labor and Politics, June 18, 2008 and August 18, 2008). Then, or shortly afterward, the remains of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge was handed over to Chicago Public Education Fund.

This was a small circle of people, families, and businesses. They were figuratively partners in crime, Chicago’s political mafia enriching themselves through their political position, through federal, local, and state funding, and through their positions and funds given from private organizations, especially, of immediately focus here, from the Woods Fund and Annenberg Challenge. It is likely that there are other organizations and people involved and this needs to be explored further. Stanley Kurtz, Steve Diamond, and others are now beginning to look into what Annenberg Challenge did with its more than $160 million in private and federal dollars.

But first, let’s get back to Barack, Bill, and Bernadine. Again, Michelle plays at least a bit role in this but to what extent is still unclear. Over the years Barack, Bill, Bernadine, and Michelle show up together, along with other Chicago figures that include Rev. Wright, Minister Farrakhan, Rev. Meeks, Rev. Pfleger, Sen. Jones, and many, many more. Throughout this Barack also had his early ties with friend, businessman, and political financier Tony Rezko and Rezko’s partners and associates. And finally, let’s also not forget organizations that received funding from Barack and Bill, such as:

Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN)
Arab American Action Network (AAAN) founded by husband and wife Rashid and Mona Khalidi.
Maoist Mike Klonsky, another terrorist member of the Weatherman
Children and Family Justice Center, Bernardine’s organization.
Trinity Unity Church and Rev. Wright.
Finally, what role did Barack’s position as a sitting state senator play in all of this?

Summary

Fairly or not, Chicago has a long reputation as a corrupt political city. It is increasingly clear that Barack joined and became a willing partner in this corruption. The families, organizations, and businesses involved enriched themselves off of the private and public funds that Barack controlled. That Barack Obama lied and continues to lie about his relationship with Bill Ayers is a smokescreen and the tip-of-the-iceberg about the depth of his involvement in what are, or may be, corrupt practices among these people and their organizations.

Hence, the Chicago Way ploitical style with which O is running his administration continuing the anti-American agenda of his and bushie's , etc....puppet masters.

The idea that Michelle Obama is a man comes from the same far-right fringe types that say he is offering us up to Muslims for slaughter, that he is a closet Muslim and that he is trying to collectivize the US economy. I guess that's why his signature health care bill gives the pool of healthiest Americans to any number of private health care companies. Or why he continued the policy of bailing out private US automakers. Or why he appointed the former CEO of GE, a multi-national that has sent half of its jobs overseas, as "job czar." Some claim that Obama even invented the word 'czar" to describe an appointee even the the term has been used since the Nixon administration.

Obama h**es America-this is the whopper that really floors me. It's made by ignorant fools and demagogues who label anyone who disagrees with their narrow radical views left or right. It's on the same level as claiming Michelle Obama is a man-it totally disrespects anyone with a different vision than your own.

George W. Bush did many things to damage our country. He lied us into a war in Iraq and he cut or eliminated any regulation of questionable fiscal 'instruments' like mortgaged-backed securities that helped lead the nation to the brink of fiscal collapse..

Did W. h**e American? I serious doubt it. His inflexibility, much like your own, did damage the nation despite his intentions, honorable and otherwise. That's the difference between you and me. In my view, people don't have to think like me in order for me to claim they h**e America. Listen and learn from all points of view. Treat people with respect and you get it back ten-fold. YOu and rufus respect nothing but those with mirror images of your viewpoints.

I don't know why i even waste my time trying to reason with unreasonable people. The weather is bad so I'm stuck at the desk for a few days. Maybe I should break out the crossword puzzles.

All bills are written by congressional staffers and glommed together, often with no one reading the entire bill. This has been going on for decades if not longer.

I tried reading Clinton's initial health care bill and the Republican version of the same. At 3,300 pages for Clintons and 2,700 for the Republicans, both were written in gibberish I defy anyone but a lawyer to comprehend.

One caveat that was included in both was:

"Nothing in this legislation shall (must) not be construed to apply to members of Congress, their staff or families." Both bills had it in it.

A Democrat from Oregon spend years trying to repeal this caveat added to EVERY bill passed by congress. He could not find a cosponsor from either party for this effort in the 12 years he was in Congress, including the six years Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and the White House. He quit in disgust in 2008.

What we have is a bi-partisan cluterf**k in our federal legislature yet you refuse to mention as an example ANY screwing you get from Republicans. That makes you a blind hyper partisan fool.

Right, just having some fun twisting history to suit your own blinded hypter-partisan views. Sure, Clinton was responsible for 9/11. Not at fault were members of the Bush administration, and Bush himself, who had a CIA report that said Osama bin Laden bland to use domestic airliners to attack the nation, most like the World Trade Center and the Capital, using hijacked airliners as weapons. It was enough pf a warning for Rumsfeld, Cheney and Ashcroft to wan their friends and family not to use commercial airlines months before the attack, yet not enough to give a warning to the general public.

but Clinton didn't k**l bin Laden when he had a chance, right? At least he tried, which is more than you can say for George W. Bush who publicly proclaimed he didn't care if bin Laden died or not. (OBL was a visitor to the Bush family ranch in Texas, as we leading members of the Taliban. Just as previous administrations, Bush I and Reagan, funded OSL's terrorist organization while OBL was fighting russians.) At least Clinton finally cut funding to al Al Quada.)

People like you, self-described right wing extremists, are what's tearing this country apart. Everything, from the LIndbergh kidnapping to the missing Judge Crater, are the fault of the Democrats in general and President Obama in particular. You are a regular hyper partisan clown.

The interventionist foreign policy of the United States has been in place for 65 years and has garnered widespread bi-partisan support, yet you only see the follies of the Democrats.

The push towards alleged " free trade " has been a bi-partisan effort for the last 40 years-and yet you blame the Democrats even though it was Richard Milhous Nixon who instituted and Ronald Wilson "deficits don't matter" Reagan who stepped up our trade with taxing nations that observed no rights of workers to organize, no environmental regulation and starvation wages for it s workers.

You are, in short, a partisan fool, a dangerous one who uses the language of violent action and yet steps aside when someone takes your word for it.

You fail to see that the perpetrators of our current multi=national oligarchy are laughing at your being do duped into blaming this on "partisan' politics. They must be wetting their pants in glee with those who divvied so they may conquer. Maybe one day you'll actually wake up.

Trying to engage in informed dialogue with you is futile. You are under the spell of evil and destructive forces.

Republicans have had de facto control of Congress for years through use of cloture and the filibuster on more occasions than all previous Senates combine. It's minority rule that stifles even debate on an issue.

A case in point was a recent filibuster of a bill that would have extended to all veterans benefits now given only to "post 9-11 (2001) veterans. Republicans said the bill's $22 billion price tag was a "budget buster."

As s VFW spokesman noted these same Republican senators had als recently v**ed to give $2.2 TRILLION in tax breaks to the wealthiest American taxpayers. As the spokesman noted "The Republicans have made their priorities known."

and Republicans claim Obama is against veterans.

the filibuster or culture is not in the Constitution and therefore, if you are a strict constitutional constructionist, it should be eliminated.

I keep writing this, a provable fact, yet no one seems to listen.

In 1981, the nation debt was about $900 billion. For the next 30 years, Republicans held the White House for 20 years and both houses of Congress for 12. Republicans held at least one house of Congress for an additional 6. During this time, a Republican president NEVER submitted a balanced but to the tender mercies of Congress, including the six years Republicans held both the White House and both houses of Congress.

Between 1981 and 2009, the federal debt increased more than 1100%. Ronald Wilson" deficits don't matter" said his annual deficits would "k**l entitlements for the next 100 years" meaning he was counting on deficits to force legislative changes he couldn't get through Congress. This is tantamount to government by sabotage.

In 2009 the INTEREST on the national debt was not much lower than the TOTAL national debt in 1981.

To say Republicans are not responsible for our fiscal debt is delusional at best, an outright lie at worse. Most of our government policies, including an interventionist foreign policy and wasteful spending on the military industrial complex, have ben bipartisan issues. Only Libertarians like Ron Paul are close to addressing what's really wrong with our government.

And you are a fool who swallows the partisan garbage coming out of the far right.

Thanks for the insight, only I lived it too. I do find it interesting how people only remember what they want to remember. W/ rufus's point what has obama accomplish since he took office? Takes responsiblity for nothing. He had full reign and spent more money than any other president. He didn't fix anything, & throwing money at a problem only lasts so long, and now "the desimated alqueada" his words is stronger than its been in 8 yrs. The immigration problem is the worst its ever been, they're sending they're children over in thousands now to take advantage of us. Republicans had nothing to do w/ this. How long do you think going further and further in debt will last? I know you understand this, meanwhile you still blame republicans. Any funds handed out during the TARP program were paid back. Nothing this administration has put money into has made money and it because of they're policies. If you work for a living then I know you feel it everyday. Unless maybe you don't work and can't understand why I m getting pissed off at how my money is constantly going into Harry Ried and Pelosi pockets, 9 million she made in one yr from insider trading on tax payer funded projects, and that's fine by you. Meanwhile you attack the tea party for failed policies that couldn't even get off the floor. You blame republicans but you never really tried to work w/ them. Just dictated how it was going to be and they said "NO" so no we have a situation of a president breaking the law that MOB RULE CHARISHES SO MUCH. Based on momentary lapses of judgement due to crisis situations(just like we all got fooled by the patriot act) that usually fit an agenda other than protecting Americans. Even Rachel Madow from MSNBC of all people broke it down and couldn't figure it out Sorry so long, but I got like 4 of ya hitting me at once. Once again it seems that one feeds the other, but I just don't see what you see, have to agree to disagree.

So you are defending Bill Ayers? Who also k**led police officers. Is it because they were black?

1-It doesn't sound like a defense of Bill Ayers. It just sounds like someone got his facts straight-Bill Ayers had no personal or political relationship with Ayers.

2-Bill Ayers k**led policemen? No, not at all. He was part of a plot, and not the principle, that bombed a building that mistakenly k**led a security guard. The bombing was done when the plotters thought there would be none one in the building. And Ayers didn't plant the bomb. He was not charged because of the widespread abuses by the federal government in collecting information.

Are you defending those two nut jobs who k**led two cops by shooting them in the back of the head? ARe you conflating an indecent where two people went on a murderous rampage with the act of bombing a building that they perpetuators thought was empty? Are you trying to compare the guilt of two people who went on this murderous rampage two days ago with a crime that occurred nearly 50 years ago? Sound like you have the problem.

Look it up on youtube. More than a dozen videos making the claim. And you, by your own admission, are part of this group. Ridiculous as it may seem, that's what many of your comrades are claiming. Glad to hear you don't believe it, but you believe he's a Muslim agent and t*****r. Not much of a jump between Michelle as a woman/Obama as a Muslim t*****r. Both are completely ridiculous as is any claim that since 2009 there has been a large and fundamental change in the way our government operates or how it conducts its relationship with it's citizens.

Coke/Pepsi. About the same difference between Republicans/Democrats. the TEa Party is simply Dr. Pepper-coke with a little cherry-flavored southern bigot in it.

I am a conservative right wing extremist but i don't agree that Michelle is a man. That is ridiculous. She has very wide sturdy hips that are traditionally associated with many black women from Kenya. I realize our perverted scientists have done some strange things but they are not capable of making those hips. Those are real.

I know the Right gets a tingle when we blame this i***t Bush for anything, but he was a shallow and callous man almost completely under the thumb of an amoral Cheney. History will eventually rank Cheney in the same category as Goebbels, Himmler, and perhaps Hitler himself.

I'd say more clueless than callous. And while Dick Cheney probably had more influence that was healthy, I think there was much more to George W. Bush than we give him credit for. He was immovable in his opinions. He didn't seem to accept anything that challenged his worldview. Shallow? One word for it. One-dimensional is more like it.

Yes, he will go down as one of the most destructive presidents we've ever had as far as foreign and fiscal policies go. Bush ranking up with Goebbels? No. Cheney might get close, though.

When he

Cheney got a heart t***splant. I said "what heart?" The fact he waited for a donor a mere seven weeks is what got me. I've had three friends, or siblings of friends, who died after years on the waiting list.

We live in a oligarchy where the rich get what they want when they want it, even life-saving health treatment, while the rest of us wait until "market forces" determine whether we'll get anything at all.

Another real peeve is that the states that receive more in federal dollars from the federal Treasury in federal benefits and programs than they send to Washington via taxes are the states that are mostly Republican states (Texas and, more recently, North Dakota).

Let them cede from the union? Sure, as long as they pay the money back. Get the government off their backs? Sure, we'll just withhold the bennies. Then listen to them scream bloody murder.
