The politics of medicine. If they can approve a v*****e this fast, why does everything else take years to get approved? The medication I take for pulmonary fibrosis was available in Europe, Canada, Mexico and South America for ten years before the FDA approved it, for a disease with a one hundred percent mortality rate, yet they shuck and jive their way to a warp speed approval of an experimental v*****e for a disease with a less than one percent mortality rate.
Read the news lately? All sorts of "fully v******ted people" are getting sick. The head of the CDC said the v*****e's effectiveness was down to fifty something percent in some places.

It takes years because there is bureaucratic red tape. Trump cut the red tape with Operation Warp Speed. Even Trump said it’s good. There are medicines that have been available in the EU for a decade for cancer that aren’t available or are in clinical trials in the US. Unless you can afford to travel there and stay for treatment you are out of luck and have to wait years.

People are having “breakthrough” infection because the v***s has mutated because it has enough no v******ted body to host from.

I’m sorry you are dealing with the fiasco that is insurance and Big Pharma and your individual health problems. It’s frustrating.

My own personal experience today involved spending two hours on the phone with my insurance company where one poor soul on the phone with me suggested I pay out of pocket and get reimbursed for a prescription I get. I asked her if she had an extra $117,000 because that’s how much it costs…every month! Friends and colleagues suggest the same thing until they hear the costs involved. The costs are insane!!! I had hoped insurance was going to change but the insurance companies don’t want it to so politicians don’t want it to.

Kind of like the v*****es that are being rammed down everyone's throat. I have never seen such warp speed approval of a treatment for a disease that still has a less than one percent mortality rate.

Just one death is too many for something that is preventable. My dear husband has lost one aunt and one uncle to C***D in the last week. His uncle was 93 years old. He lived to an age that many of us would pray to live to, but it is still heartbreaking to lose him. You have to be one heartless person to say he was old and it was his time. It wasn’t his time! He was fit as a fiddle and sharp as a tack. Some unknown i***t infected him and our family has lost a great man. I’m so angry I’d sue them if I knew who they were. We also lost a woman who was the matriarch of her family and leaves a desolate family behind. A family who tried to get her to stop eating out, to wear a mask, to get an injection. If you don’t want to be a sheep to the wealthy and powerful. If you REALLY feel that way then stop v****g for the people who are supported by them. V**e for the libertarians who truly do believe in small government and civil liberties. V**e for Bernie because he really doesn’t like corporate greed and the swamp of DC and has been saying it his whole life. For those who say I am full of s**te and lying I don’t care. Is your life so small that you never had big dreams and did anything to achieve them. That’s what I did in life. I’m the woman in Tombstone who wanted room service for the rest of her life. I HOPE that what I do matters but it probably doesn’t. I’m not trying to change your mind. Go ahead and believe what you want to but make sure it is the t***h. Personal responsibility means taking care of those around you. Having compassion.

The sheeple are the ones who blindly believe what they’re told. The pharmaceutical companies own both parties and have way too much influence over the FDA. A ‘lobbyist’ should know that.

It is effective in other countries where big pharma doesn’t have as much influence. People know that. But some aren’t careful with it. Its been used for many years on humans and is safe when taking the correct dosage.

Look I agree that our insurance and pharmaceutical companies have FAR too much power in this country. I was in Spain and got sick. I paid $50 for a doctor to who came to my hotel room. He prescribed medication and I went to a pharmacy two blocks away. The man at the pharmacy pulled the box off the shelf and gave it to me and I left. The whole thing cost less that $75 and I didn’t have to have insurance. That’s the kind of system I wish we had. But we don’t and until the insurance and pharmaceutical companies can stop paying politicians we won’t. We need term limits and campaign donation caps.

Not all sects of Islam see Jesus as a prophet. I didn’t say you said the religions are the same. I said they aren’t remotely the same. Try to keep up.

Just like there are different sects of all religions. Orthodox, ultra orthodox, fundamentalists, radical, ultra conservative, traditional, contemporary…all considered under the same umbrella of a specific religion but each very very different in their practices and beliefs.

In the Christian religion Jesus is the Messiah. In Islamic religion Jesus is a prophet. In Judaism he is a historical figure, but not the Messiah.

The Dome of The Rock is a visual reminder and tangible symbol of not only the underlying unity among the Abrahamic religions but also their discord and rivalry. The story is that David built the temple, Solomon expanded, Jesus studied and prayed there, the Romans sacked it, the Muslims rebuilt it and the Jews believe that the Messiah will appear when it is in their hands again. It is supposedly the spot where Mohammad met with the apostles Jesus, Abraham and Moses and ascended to Heaven with the arch Angel Gabriel.

Three different religions with their stories intertwined. Religion is fascinating. My faith has carried me through tragedy and joy. Your belief is all that’s important.

I didn’t say Christianity and Islam are the same. Not real high reading comprehension sk**ls. Probably too excited about your pithy reply.

Islam and Christianity are two of three religions who believe in the same omnipotent God. One thinks Jesus was the Messiah, one believes he was a prophet and one does not believe he was the Messiah.

Islam is a religion just like Christianity that believes in God. The same God that Christians believe in. They even acknowledge Jesus and respect him as a prophet. Some Muslim women cover themselves, some Catholics cover their heads in cathedrals, some Protestants wear the best clothes and wear hats, some Buddhists wear robes, etc. etc. etc. You are confusing Islam with radical Islamic views just like there are fundamental Christians and ultra Orthodox Jews or any fundamental extremist religion.

They k**l your entire family and or village. Wait and see. As many afghanis lose there wives and daughters their will be a resistance movement. People with nothing left to lose are dangerous.

There will be resistance. There already is. Warlords are gathering according to reports. You are ABSOLUTELY right that culturally and historically it is a country of tribes. When the British conquered the lands they drew boundaries. The boundaries don’t mean anything to nomadic tribes with warlords and that has historically been the problem in the Middle East. Perhaps they will fight back. The average age is 25 in the country. It’s a very young and able population who have grown up with freedom.

That’s bad news for Trump because now the courts can show that the people who stormed the Capitol building did so because of what he said that morning. To walk to the Capitol. To take it by force. What the FBI said is not good news for Trump and goes along with the defense of many there that said they were doing what there president told them to do. Legally it puts the blame in Trumps actions that day.

I agree. I find it strange that the Taliban can fight so well and the homegrown men can't. Who trains the Taliban so well but we can't train the homegrown men as well?

There are Afghans coordinating defense in other cities. There will be a fight among themselves. The odds that the Taliban can use the arms, ammunition and humvees are good. Biometrics too unfortunately. It’s questionable whether or not they have anyone who can fly an Apache or fighter. Half of the aircraft were flown out to Uzbekistan but now we don’t know who will get them and half of the heavy equipment was dismantled or destroyed by afghan soldiers. The arms can be sold for quick cash. There will be an assortment of US weapons in insurgents hands. Not unlike the 1980’s.

I fear nuclear plans for reactors sold to UAE far more than the Taliban with weapons that they can’t use or repair over time although the short term right now for Afghans is terrifying.

If they want a nation supported by other counties with humanitarian aid and to be taken seriously this time they won’t resort to the terror and strict sharia law they tried to implement twenty years ago. They are dealing with a population that is mostly under the age of 25 and have had freedom for most of their lives. It won’t be as easy to restrict the people.

They are also having to defend Afghanistan from ISIS. That will take resources.

It’s a very complex issue. I don’t think the blame can be with one person. If you go to the start it’s the British government who divided up tribes into a country. It’s Russia who started a war. It’s the US who gave the weapons to fight Russia and told them the weapons were from Allah instead of the infidel Americans. It’s Bush who invaded. It’s Obama who stayed there. It’s Trump who signed a peace plan and t***sfer without a plan to leave and empties the prisons. It’s Biden who didn’t seem to think the withdrawal through. It’s very complex and I don’t have an answer.

Damn Meddlesome, that one helluva liberally biased chart.

Would we expect anything else?

I’m not even a liberal.

You can end the discussion here or you can read further…
Perhaps you aren’t familiar with my story. I am a registered gold card carrying Republican and lobbyist who works in Washington DC. I worked for Bush one, Bush two and worked with Republican lawmakers under Trump. My personal opinion after v****g for him changed when I learned that most of what he personally campaigned on was lies. He wasn’t a billionaire, he isn’t a wunderkind developer with a successful thriving company, his father didn’t help him out with a small loan, he isn’t an A student from a prestigious prep school or university and my own late husband warned me about him but I didn’t realize what he was talking about until I read the reports of sexual assault and rape. Which mortify me! When he walked out of that trailer after telling a reporter that he could assault women every hair should have stood up on my arms. He is very disarming, charming, charismatic. A campaign that utilized cruel and underhanded psychological means to rev up a base that I witnessed and was shocked by (THATS A STORY I WILL GO INTO LATER) all make me personally think he’s a con artist who doesn’t have the best interests of America and Americans at heart. All Americans, as the president is supposed to do! I think he is morally and ethically corrupt and I have witnessed some helluva t***sactions in the last four years. He is making money from Saudi Arabia off of the arms that he sold them!!! What do you think his Israeli Peace Plan was? Why weren’t Republicans praising it from the mountain tops?! We knew it enriched Trump. He wasn’t a billionaire literally when he ran for office, but he is now. If you think I’m a liberal, which I don’t have a problem with since the root word for liberal means free, I have some beautiful toxic land in Texas to sell you which just happens to be my most recent business interactions with our esteemed Republican leadership. Believe me those who fully support are few and the rest don’t speak out. They try to walk the line as the wheels and cogs of government and the issues facing the world slowly grind forward.

You should be VERY concerned that ANY president tried to steal an e******n, but Trump isn’t the first. Most recently W did with the help of Al Gore and the SCOTUS. That would have been a disaster if Gore hadn’t done the best thing for America democracy. This same scenario would have played out twenty years earlier. As it is 9/11 was the result of the delay in the t***sfer of information during the post e******n time. At the time I was a Bush employee and rejoiced over the decision, but W took also took office with a respect for the office and the American people. He understood the MAGNITUDE of the office and revered it. We all wore our best in that room. We took the work seriously. Trump only thought what the office could do for him. Now we have testimony that Trump literally asked the DOJ to call the e******n corrupt and tried to convince state attorney generals to declare their counts inaccurate to steal an e******n. That’s terrifying! And he continues to lie that he unfairly lost the e******n. He’s doing it again today at one of his never ending donation/campaign rallies. It was a very close race, but it was a fair loss. He is polarizing and now he has lost 60% of those who v**ed for him and their support! Do you think that makes my job easy? NO!

My ten year old thinks he’s nothing but a “big baby sore loser” A child can see that! I am repulsed by anyone who thinks otherwise over the age of 50 who can read and has a decent IQ and reasoning sk**ls. The only good thing is that I can ignore his most ardent supporters at work and I don’t have to hear him on social media anymore. We have more important things to do than rehash a lost e******n for a year! We have the opportunity to make America great and all anyone can do is call each other names and become more divided. Those there for the right reasons didn’t close up shop when he left office. We care about the country.

Open your freakin brain and educate yourself. If you don’t like this particular chart wait. It will change over time. This is a big world and you are a speck. Only by working together does the wind make a tornado. No e******n or party is a life or death matter. If my views seems liberal it’s because I’m for freedom and democracy compared to someone who only thinks in terms of you are ultra conservative or you’re wrong. I don’t want the authoritarian rule. It doesn’t work out well for the dictator or the people historically. I try to v**e for the best PERSON and not the party anymore. I have chosen to v**e country over party. For me it’s the compassionate grandfather/father figure in office now with the servants heart and the wisdom to work together and I support him for his term. It doesn’t mean I’m a liberal. It means I’m human and have compassion.
