There are apologies that are not apologies.

You can spot a non-apology when it uses words like “mistakes were made,” or “If I offended anyone …” or “that’s not who I am.” You know language like that is not an apology.

Then there’s a real apology. Like the “full-throated apology” of l*****t Naomi Wolf, regretting being “duped” by the false narrative regarding the Capitol incursion of J*** 6, 2021.

Essentially, Tucker Carlson’s airing of raw footage from the breach of the U.S. Capitol prompted her change of heart.

And she realized “there is no way to avoid this moment. The formal letter of apology.”

“I made mistakes in judgment,” wrote Wolf — who is a liberal progressive feminist author, journalist and former political advisor to Al Gore and Bill Clinton — in her online “Outspoken” column.

But she didn’t use that as an excuse, as her apology continued with, “[t]hese mistakes, multiplied by the tens of thousands and millions on the part of people just like me, hurt millions of other people like you all, in existential ways.”

How can people disagree with the fact America subsidizes Europe’s quality of life? We have a massive military presence there meaning they don’t have to spend nearly enough on defense. This in turn allows them to allocate more taxes to welfare.
Actually the European NATO countries have an even more massive military presence in Europe. The US personnel in Europe are there to be support services for US military stationed all over the world.

US military personnel stationed in Europe 67,000. Size of NATO military personnel 3.3 million. US military personnel stationed in Europe is about 2% of NATO personnel.

The US maintains a slightly larger percentage of it’s budget for military, about 1% more BUT it isn’t a case of they are all for Europe. US has military stationed all over the world. European military tends to be for their defense, not for having bases in the Indian Ocean, South Korea, the middle east, Japan, Africa, Central America, Australia.

They pay less than the US does per capita for medical care. their welfare systems vary depending on which nation you are talking about, some are more expensive some are less. One thing they have in Europe is a far lower crime rate and a far lower imprisoned population. They spend less on prisons. They spend more per capita on education. They spend more on infrastructure and maintenance. The US spends more about 3% of GDP on the military. European nations average about 2% but the US military is stationed all over the world not just in Europe. IT isn’t a massive presence in Europe.

The US has low taxes compared to European Countries. quite a bit lower. We borrow and then we have to service that debt. Most European nations have far less debt BECAUSE they are willing to tax themselves up front and meet their costs with far less borrowing. They also invest in things which makes their nations stronger and have a better quality of life. The US government invests in giving nice perks to donors, and in maintaining the massive prison complex it runs and maintaining bases all over the world almost all unnecessary and which buy us little defensewise. Europe more than meets it’s own defense needs and it also makes sure it has an educated population with a low crime rate and excellent medical care for less money than the US wastes on our prison population alone

“Arizona Sheriff Reveals What I******s Say to Officials After Crossing US Border - Bad News for Biden

“Arizona officials sounded the alarm about the devastating, pervasive impact the mass i*****l i*********n being incentivized by the Biden administration is having on their communities.

“Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb testified Tuesday before the House Committee on Homeland Security as part of its hearing titled “Every State is a Border State: Examining Secretary Mayorkas’ Border Crisis.”

“Lamb blamed President Joe Biden for incentivizing unfettered i*****l i*********n that fuels horrifying human and drug trafficking by violent cartels.

“When we ask people why they came here, they said, ‘Because Joe Biden said we could.’ And this is the reality of what we deal with every day,” he said.

“So clearly, the policies that have been — whether you call them open borders or not — they are affecting people coming here, and the cartels are taking advantage and marketing to people in other countries to come.”

“The sheriff noted that the i*****l a***ns themselves are being abused, raped and ens***ed by the cartels “that our policies have encouraged.”

“We, and by default, our lack of policies or weak border security is actually bringing those people to the doorsteps of the cartels to be ens***ed, to be taken advantage of,” Lamb said.

“ The sheriff said in addition to the property destruction and rampant littering that accompanies unfettered i*****l i*********n, the migrants themselves are often brutally victimized during their dangerous journey.

“The people are being tricked and trapped into coming here by these cartels because of our policies, or lack of,” Lamb testified.

“When they come here, the women are being raped. We had a woman we caught a while back that had a baggie full of pills.

“And we said, ‘What are these pills?’ And she said, ‘When I came across the border, I knew I’d be raped multiple times. These are morning-after pills,’” he said.

“Lamb continued: “Have we lost our moral compass so bad that we put politics in front of people? They’re raping the women … raping the children, using them as pawns, oftentimes putting them into the sex trade here in America. S***ery is … super-prolific nowadays.”

Think about that title for a moment. What kind of thoughts does it conjure up in your mind? Be honest, at least with yourself.

Did you think first about the children? Does it outrage you if it is true that children are being abused (let alone “systemically” abused, meaning “by the system”)? If so, I say good for you. We should care about our children and how they are being handled, or we could say, how they are being “g***med.”

Or, were your first thoughts, ‘oh boy, here comes some homophobe wanting to discredit the L***Q+ community’?

What if I were to tell you that the title is a quote from a coalition of concerned citizens who call themselves “Gays Against G***mers”?

That’s right. “Gays Against G***mers” is a coalition of gays who are up in arms about, in their own words, the “Mass scale child abuse being perpetrated on an entire generation…”

Ironically, I was challenging a l*****t sympathizer on another thread here on OPP and he accused me of being h********c for my being outraged that children in America are being exposed to things like “d**g q***n story hours” in our schools. (https://www.onepoliticalplaza.com/t-271765-2.html#4434745)

I wasn’t aware of it yet, but as it turns out, there are “millions of gays” who are as much or maybe even more outraged than I am about it. How can I say “more” outraged? I mean, isn’t being outraged for the benefit of our children’s mental, emotional, sexual, and at times even physical well-being and health strong enough? Well, what makes them even “more” outraged than I could be is because they are being held “guilty by association” with these child abusers because it is being done in the auspices of being supported by, and for the benefit of, all gays, when it decidedly is not.

They are uniquely offended because they want no part in being associated with the systemic and systematic “sexualization and indoctrination of children… [including] d**g q***n story hours, d**g shows involving children, the t***sitioning and medicalization of minors, and g****r theory being taught in the classroom.” Those aren’t my words; those are words from “Gays Against G***mers” quoted from their about page…

Gays Against G***mers directly opposes the sexualization and indoctrination of children. This includes d**g q***n story hours, d**g shows involving children, the t***sitioning and medicalization of minors, and g****r theory being taught in the classroom.
“The activists, backed by school boards, government, woke media, and corporations, have been speaking on our behalf for too long. When fighting for e******y, our goal was to successfully integrate ourselves into society, but now these radicals aim to restructure it entirely in order to accommodate a fringe minority, as well as seek to indoctrinate children into their ideology.
“We’re saying NO.
“There are millions of gays within the community that want nothing to do with this Alphabet religion and join the fight with parents and concerned people everywhere to protect children. We also aim to return sanity and reclaim the community we once called our own.

“The gay community is not a monolith. Those pushing this agenda do not represent or speak for us all, nor do we want to be associated with them in any way. What we are witnessing is mass scale child abuse being perpetrated on an entire generation, and we will no longer sit by and watch it happen.”
https://www.gaysagainstg***mers.com/about

Think about that for a minute.

But what we really need to ask is how has this been allowed to happen? What is the driving force behind this movement? How has America so lost its way as for its primary institutions to not only not look the other way, but to actually condone, implement, support, and adamantly defend the “Mass scale child abuse being perpetrated on an entire generation” in this country??? That’s what every American really needs to ask themselves.

Have you ever heard of the word “bipartisan”? That’s the noble situation where two political parties work with each other for a common good.

This issue has “bi-sexual-orientation” support. That means members from both hetero and homo sexual parties are in agreement that this atrocity being foisted on our children needs to be condemned and stopped. This isn’t an issue that only (falsely so-called) “homophobes” are outraged about!

Gays Against G***mers SLAMS California school board for pushing g****r t***sition on students

“At a school board meeting in California on Tuesday, Mario Presents of Gays Against G***mers issued a scathing speech against the school district regarding the teaching of g****r identity and sexual orientation to young students.

“Presents told the Conejo Valley School Board that he is the uncle of two students in the district. "It has come to our attention," he said, "that the district intends to teach t*********rism to children under the age of 10 without parental consent."

If I were to teach your child about my sexuality without your consent or involvement, I'd be arrested. But when the school district does, its education. Districts are teaching t*********rism when they should be teaching science, math and language. Instead, teachers are hiding student pronouns from their parents under the guise of g****r affirmation," said Presents.

“He noted that there would be an "uproar" from parents if the school was "evangelizing or baptizing children" without consent of the parents.

"Isn’t that sort of what you’re doing?" He asked.

"You don't tuck these children in at night. You don't teach them to stand up to bullies. You don't pay their medical bills. And you certainly don't hold their hands in the hospital. These parents do," Presents said.

“In order for society to flourish, Presents said that "simple t***h based in science" needs to be upheld.
"The gross indoctrination we're seeing is creating a lifetime of medication and hormones because you can't simply pause puberty. Men cannot become women, and sex c********es are encoded into the fabric of our DNA," said Presents.

Simply affirming a teenager's g****r is akin to affirming anorexia. Both are body dysmorphic disorders yet we don't teach the starving teenagers how to binge and purge or affirm that they are indeed overweight. However, school districts including yours seem to have no issue secretly teaching girls that they can be boys because they feel uncomfortable in their bodies."

He said that "grown women can’t get a hysterectomy without extensive medical forms and doctors visits," and yet "Dr. Sofia over the hill in Sherman Oaks is willing to do top and bottom surgery, sterilizing children for life."

"Parents must be a part of the education process when teaching sexuality to students. And it definitely doesn't need to happen under the age of 10 years old," he concluded.

“This school board meeting comes months after another board meeting where parents expressed their outrage over the fact that their young children were being taught about g****r identity and sexual orientation without their knowledge.

“One family discovered that this was being taught only when their young daughter came home and told them that a female student in their class had been reintroduced to classmates with a male name, and the teacher read the book "Call Me Max," which centers around a t*********r student, to explain what was happening.

“Parent Steve Schneider spoke at that school board meeting along with other parents, stating that "No matter your position, I think we can all agree that schools need to include parents before teaching things other than basic education."

"I came to CV USD in the past and voiced my concerns only to be brushed away like I meant nothing. There was no inclusion then, there's no inclusion now. I'm not sure how or why you would think that an eight year old could understand what t*********r even means," Schneider said.

“Schneider said that the book had only confused his daughter more, telling the school board that "I wonder if people consider this or if you had discussed inclusion in one breath and in the other you exclude parents."

"I received an overwhelming amount of support in the last few weeks including parents with kids in the same class as my daughter," he said. "The quiet ones are starting to speak up and you should be concerned."

“Ahead of Tuesday’s school board meeting, Schneider along with 30 other parents handed out over 5,000 fliers to 22 different schools advertising the meeting.

"Conejo Valley School District is not telling you everything," the flier states. "Teachers have spoken out against the board and you need to see what’s happening."

"This is NOT Misinformation like you’re being told," the flier continued. "Come see for yourself and hear the stories of what other parents and their children have gone through. You’ll be shocked. Stay alert Conejo."

“Speaking with The Post Millennial following the Tuesday school board meeting, Schneider said "the Conejo Valley Unified School District Board seems to think I co-parent with them. I don't."

“In response to concerns raised by Schneider in June, the Superintendent sent out a letter reaffirming their commitments to "inclusion" and "unity," stating that "In the Conejo Valley Unified School District we proudly serve ALL students and even more proudly affirm to be a place where ALL students belong."

Did you notice that Mr. Presents said, “Districts are teaching t*********rism when they should be teaching science, math and language.” If a heterosexual had said that, the perpetrators would claim it meant “don’t say gay”! But how can they deny it (or how will they spin it now) coming out of the mouth of a gay man?

If around 200,000 gays (representing they claim “millions of gays”) are outraged enough to form a coalition to “directly oppose the sexualization and indoctrination of children… [including] d**g q***n story hours, d**g shows involving children, the t***sitioning and medicalization of minors, and g****r theory being taught in the classroom”…

Then shouldn’t the rest of us non-gays hear what they have to say and support them? (and not, as we have seen right here on OPP, accuse the whistleblowers of being “h********c liars” or “h********c exaggerators”? If this issue were about Hollywood casting couches and the sexual exploitation of actresses and actors by directors and executives, would that be your type of response to those who were outraged by it? So, these folks who are trying to cover up and defend the “Mass scale child abuse being perpetrated on an entire generation” by calling those who are outraged by it “h********c” are no better than those who would cover up and defend any other type of sexual exploitation. In other words, these are the enablers, because if these enablers were outraged instead of placating, the true offenders would be at the least shamed out of society if not prosecuted for their crimes against humanity.

"Gays Against G***mers" are not rallying and speaking out for their own sakes, but for the children. So if you are on the opposite side of this issue, where does that put you?

I’d rather be falsely accused of being a “homophobe” than sit by and say nothing... just like these folks at “Gays Against G***mers” have the fortitude, resolve, and outrage to form a nation-wide coalition to “directly oppose the sexualization and indoctrination of children.”

Which "side" are you on?

Turns out, my position against “d**g q***n story hours” in school is something I have in common with “millions of gays”.

I guess, in your estimation, if you are consistent in your argument against my statements, that you would have to claim all these millions of homosexuals are h********c because they are bothered by other homosexuals exercising what you claim is benign “freedom of speech.”

Notice how this coalition of gays group “t*********ring” children as of the same ilk with their protest of d**g q***n story hour. You see, they recognize, like some of us more savvy straight folks, a Trojan horse when they see one.

Who said this question was confined to part of the the school official “curriculum”? The point is, it is being promoted and done in schools (plural) and you claimed to say so, period, was a “h********c lie.” Now you are trying to cover up your lies by redefining the statement on your terms.

Backdooring (pardon the pun) this program makes it even more despicable. It means they haven’t gone through the proper channels to get it approved. You know, like checking with parents and being upfront about it.

D**g Q***n Story Hour is back in New York City schools and libraries as though it never left— because it hasn't. After outrage from parents who didn't feel that their children needed to be read to about pronouns and non-binary toddlers by men and women costumed as the opposite sex, the City of New York continued funding, and expanding, D**g Q***n Story Hour programs.
D**g Q***ns funded with taxpayer dollars dress up and read to children in libraries, schools, parks and green spaces all over townand in every borough. D**g Q***n Story hour is funded by New York City Councilmembers, who are able to use their discretionary funding to pay for the d**g q***ns and kings to come read to children, and help them put on d**g q***n makeup…
“D**g Story Hour NYC routinely shares images of d**g q***ns reading to students, whether in schools, libraries or elsewhere. They shared images of students at Queens middle school IS 93, where Bella Noche spoke to children.
The post said that Noche was discussing the children's book Melissa, by Alex Gino, with the students. The book is about a boy who wants to be a girl, and so really is a girl. "When people look at George, they see a boy. But George knows she's a girl," the description reads.” https://thepostmillennial.com/d**g-story-hour-continues-taxpayer-funded-programming-in-nyc-schools-libraries

^^^notice the title of the article in the url^^^ “d**g story hour…taxpayer funded…in nyc schools”

Okay, that’s NYC. But, again you were in error when you claimed it was “only one city”…

Then there is Philadelphia…

“Parents of first-graders at a popular Center City Philadelphia public school were outraged after they were sent a notification for a forthcoming d**g q***n story hour with their classroom.
“Fox News obtained an email sent to parents of a first-grade class at the Albert M. Greenfield School near Rittenhouse Square, telling them their child's classroom will be participating in D**g Q***n Story Hour, with the missive going on to highlight the program's attributes and recent awards.” https://www.foxnews.com/media/d**g-queen-story-hour-graders-philadelphia-school-outrages-parents

Then there is Thornton CO…

“THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) — A school district has apologized to parents after hosting a d**g q***n as part of a career day. A spokesperson for Adams 12 Five Star schools said Rocky Top Middle School staff should have notified parents a d**g q***n would be speaking to their children before allowing the speech to happen…
“The d**g q***n, identified as a woman who goes by "Jessica L'Whor," is a relative of one student. The district confirmed she was invited to attend career day.” https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/adams-county-career-day-d**g-queen/

So, a d**g q***n who goes by the name “Jessica L’Whor” is invited to speak at “career day”, and you think my concern comes from “homophobia?

Wrong! I don’t personally care if people are homosexuals. I have never had any homosexual tendencies, you’re just wrong in your imaginations in that regard. You’re just grasping at something you can charge me with to make yourself look better.

I care about them indoctrinating children who aren’t mature enough to consider such topics. Just like I would be concerned if prostitutes were to dress up in g-strings and nipple tassels and called it “whore-story-hour”, I’d be just as outraged. Or for that matter, even if a heterosexual couple came into age-inappropriate settings (like schools or libraries) and started flaunting sexually suggestive activities. Nope, not acceptable either. The way these activities and topics are being presented to young school-age children is simply not appropriate, it is downright immoral and amounts to sexual abuse of minors.

That is simple concern for children. Which apparently you and I have different morals about. Fine. You or they can teach your own children in the privacy of your own home. Oh, darn, homosexual relationships don’t make children on their own by which to “model” their “families” by. Surprise, surprise! Maybe there’s a reason for that! Maybe there’s a reason homosexual relationships are sterile and thus do not reproduce. I assure you, there is, whether you like it, accept it, or not.

You clearly didn’t dig deep enough. But first…

“Q***r - of, relating to, or characterized by sexual or romantic attraction to members of one's own sex : GAY entry 1” Merriam-Webster Webster

When someone calls themselves “q***r” it is generally understood they are referring to their sexual orientation as being “homosexual”.

Now then, if you would have read the “agenda”, the stated mission, of “d**g q***n story hour”, it is specifically to promote a “q***r” lifestyle. This is their own words from their “about” page…

“What is D**g Story Hour?
“It’s just what it sounds like! Storytellers using the art of d**g to read books to kids in libraries, schools, and bookstores.
“DSH captures the imagination and play of the g****r fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly q***r role models.
“In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid g****r restrictions and imagine a world where everyone can be their authentic selves!”
https://www.d**gstoryhour.org/about

If they truly wanted to be good “role models” how about them simply acting like other adults and not flaunting their sexuality in front of kids, and instead be good role models as parents of stable households? Is that asking too much?

People’s “authentic selves” are who their c********es biologically determine them to be. That is what children should be taught in school. That is biological fact, science.

Show me one L***Q+ wh**ever who was ever able to change their c********es by choice or by thinking about it. They are in denial of who they are, and they are pressing toward demanding we comply with their “choices”. Being in denial of who you are is typically considered a mental health problem, not a “socially acceptable alternative lifestyle.” Such has been the”norm” that has served mankind well for all of man’s past known history. The relationship of one man and one woman is the basic building block of all of human society. If all of mankind converted to homosexuality the whole human race would be extinct in that generation. That is how unfruitful, and deadly, homosexuality is. It is destructive to the continuity of the “circle of life” of human beings, if not destructive to their individual moral being. Are they teaching that at “d**g q***n story hour”? But I digress.

Still not convinced their agenda is to indoctrinate young minds? Here, how about a personal testimony from one of the “storytellers”…

“Self-acceptance and self-love are what lead me to do d**g. Once I learned how to embrace my femininity, I wanted to explore that and express it in a creative way. D**g is the perfect outlet for me to do so. Through DSH, I hope to be a positive, q***r role model for kids. It’s important kids know that it’s okay to be different. Diversity is part of what makes humanity beautiful, and I’m just one example or facet of what that looks like."
-Cholula Lemon, Storyteller, DSH NYC, https://www.d**gstoryhour.org/press

You and I obviously have different views of morality. And that is why there remains “irreconcilable differences” between us.

You will never convince me that it is socially or morally acceptable to flaunt homosexual lifestyles to children. Don’t change the subject as being about “free speech” in general. Now that would be a strawman!

An opinion piece was published in The New York Times on Tuesday called The Mask Mandates Did Nothing. Will Any Lessons Be Learned?” giving yet another example of how even the Left is waking up to the nonsense of the C***D restrictions.

The piece, written by Bret Stephens, quoted Oxford epidemiologist Tom Jefferson, who said, “There is just no evidence that they [masks] make any difference. Full stop.”

For almost three years New York Times pushed mask mandates, promoted masking and double-masking, and viciously attacked any scientist who expressed skepticism about these policies.

Now they admit they were wrong...

Amazing, isn’t it? It only took three years for the mainstream media to admit what was known by “conspiracy theorists” in March 2020. This sort of statement would have gotten you banned from YouTube until about 15 minutes ago, but apparently, it is now permitted at the Times.

Now, the critic might retort that it is only non-medical masks or simply cloth masks that do nothing. However, Jefferson said that even if one were to don an N-95 mask that it “makes no difference – none of it.”

Asked about why mask mandates were enforced despite the now obvious evidence showing they do absolutely nothing for the general population, he said that the policies were based on “non-randomized … flawed observational studies.”

Again, those of us who are not predisposed to trusting everything the powers that be declared knew this a long time ago.
No protection at all

It did not take a genius to look up the size of a v***s particle and compare that to the size of the pores in even a medical mask to realize that using a mask to stop a respiratory v***s was like holding up a chain-link fence as a shield to stop yourself from getting wet.

Masks have long been used in medical settings when properly fitted in order to stop the t***smission of bacterial debris, which makes perfect sense when you consider how risky it could be for spittle and other fluids to make their way into an open wound. But the fact has always been that if you can breathe through something then you can pass along what you breathe.

Add to that the fact that people used all sorts of materials for their masks – I remember a woman in a drive-through using the top of a winter toque – and what we had was billions of people walking around with loose handkerchiefs over their mouths as if they were C***D-bullet proof vests.
Unsettling science

I can’t be certain if any of the experts ever said things like “the science is settled” about the efficacy of masks, but they definitely acted as if it was. The fact that people were d**gged off trains, planes, and out of supermarkets for not donning the muzzle definitely made it seem like the “science was settled.” It was so settled that you had a hard time participating in society if you didn’t act like it was settled.

I fought them the whole time and walked out of places run by sheep. There are many many sheep in America.

Hey, “straightup”,

Before we even get into a discussion…

Let’s see if you are able to admit and retract when you are wrong. I’ll just provide one example for now.

You said…

So let’s ask if d**g q***n hour at schools is or isn’t a thing… you called it a “h********c lie”. Pretty strong words! And, pretty adamant words. But totally wrong!

New York is showering taxpayer funds on a group that sends d**g q***ns into city schools — often without parental knowledge or consent — even as parents in other states protest increasingly aggressive efforts to expose kids to g****r-bending performers.
“Last month alone, D**g Story Hour NYC — a nonprofit whose outrageously cross-dressed performers interact with kids as young as 3 — earned $46,000 from city contracts for appearances at public schools, street festivals, and libraries, city records show.
“Since January, the group has organized 49 d**g programs in 34 public elementary, middle, and high schools, it boasted on its website, with appearances in all five boroughs.”

Do you really not understand the difference between male actors dressing as women in plays versus men dressing as women to go to public schools to indoctrinate young innocent yet impressionable minds towards homosexuality?

Honestly, I can’t bring myself to envision any conversation you and I may have going well if you can’t see, accept, and understand the gravity of the perverseness this topic, and the differences between actors and sexual d*****ts being allowed to influence young children for the sole purpose of making their deviance openly socially acceptable. I mean, society should be outraged if it were prostitutes going to “prostitute hour” to teach kids it’s okay to visit whores.

Does that make me “prostitution-phobic”. If not, why would you accuse me of being “h********c”?

This is not about homophobia. This is about, What do things that adults do in their bedrooms have to with what underage children are taught in school?

So, are you ready to admit you were wrong in claiming there are no “d**g q***n hours” in schools?

Auntie - thank you for presenting Ryan McMaken's analysis. His thoughtful approach to the issue was far more intelligent than the knee-jerk responses I was getting from my post on MTG's proposal. https://www.onepoliticalplaza.com/tpr?p=4430341&t=271604

But he doesn't actually dispute either the of the claims I made in that OP. My first claim was that 14 of the 28 red states take more from federal reserves than they give. McMaken's charts actually worsen the picture by indicating that 19 of the 28 red states take more from federal resources than they give. Of course he worsens the picture for the blue states too, by indicating that 9 of the 22 blue states do the same.

One of the sources of discrepancy is that he is only counting the money collected by the states and not the money collected by residents of those states as individual benefactors, such as Medicare patients. Either way, the net effect is the same... Half the red states (or the majority of them according to McMaken) take more from federal reserves than they give and yes... that DOES makes them dependent. So you essentially debunked your own claim.

I'm not saying that red states will roll over and die if we close the spigot, I'm sure they would adjust one way or another, but that was never my point. My point is that if the red states want a divorce as MTG is suggesting then it would mean the blue states wouldn't have to fund them anymore.

The other thing to point out is his explanation for why *some* red states actually do better. Twice in his article he says that states like Texas and Florida do better because they have large metropolitan areas. To that I would add that those metropolitan areas tend to be blue, even in red states. Here's a a look at Texas during the 2022 e******ns.

https://static.onepoliticalplaza.com/upload/2023/2/25/t1-360359-red_blue_texas.jpg

Those blue bubbles are basically all the major cites where most of the GDP is produced. Dallas/Ft Worth, Houston, San Antonio, etc..

One thing that McMaken stated that does make sense is that blue states naturally produce more GDP because they have more people. But then he goes on to claim that "blue states contain about 54 percent of the US population and they produce about 59 percent of GDP. In contrast, the red states contain about 46 percent of the US population and produce 40 percent of GDP. But the fact is most of the GDP produced in the wealthier red states actually come from their own blue regions.

MTG isn't the smartest cookie in Congress, she doesn't seem to understand that the partisan divide between blue and red doesn't run along state lines. In fact when you look closer it's easy to the division is more between urban regions and rural regions. 83% of the American people live in urban regions including those blue regions in the red states and yes, that 's were 90% of the GDP comes from and yes, they are overwhelmingly blue.

This actually takes me to the second point that I made in my OP... the fact that the moderate-to-liberal "blue people" that make up the majority of the American population and generate almost all the GDP are getting pretty tired of being dictated to by the hard-right "red people" that only make up a minority of the population by virtue of the disproportionate representation in Congress. But that point was forgotten in all the fussing over blue state vs red state BS.

Like I said... If "hard-right" people like MTG want a divorce, by all means do it. Let's see what McMaken numbers look like when the those blue bubbles in Texas refuse to go along with the plan.
Auntie - thank you for presenting Ryan McMaken's a... (show quote)

Another factor you aren’t considering is how much l*****t policies have been imposed on all of us which means nothing is “pure”. Neither the left nor the right has a monopoly on anything, anyone, or any place in this country. And the reason any of the populated areas are predominantly blue is (arguably) because of massive propaganda campaigns from marxists both in media and education. And secondly the overall apathy of Americans to learn and understand what the principles were that produced this great country, which certainly are NOT being fairly taught in our education systems. Therefore, to dictate policy by such exercises in data like this would be in themselves a type of an exercise in “tyranny by the masses” which is repugnant to the American principles upon which the constitution was founded.

The discussion on whether or not to separate isn’t a geographical issue, but a moral one. Is anyone actually saying that? Or are they simply proposing that as part of the solution or outcome of the “divorce”?

There are those of us who will never go along with the idea that an unborn human being is merely a lump of tissue, and thereby a “choice” of convenience to be made.

There are those of us who will never go along with the notion that male and female are “a choice” and are not determined primarily by their c********es and secondarily by their g*****lia (considering only the rare cases of hermaphrodites, for example, as exceptions, and not “choice” particularly in regard to children).

There are some of us who will never go along with allowing “d**g q***n hours” and the like in schools or any other place where children are present.

Do positions like this make me “extreme right”?

Are these positions compatible with l*****ts who constantly put forth laws, rules, and other social impositions, to force me to comply with such idiocy?

Which raises the question, what is “extreme right”? And who determines it? You?
