The empirical facts and evidence for evolution remain whether one "believes in" it or not. I understand it's principles and have reviewed its evidences and I feel reasonably confident it is a useful model to explain certain realities and to accurately predict and aid in the study of extensive corollary theories and bodies of scientific knowledge. Biology, taxonomy, geology, embryology, genetic databases, criminology, sociology, anthropology and medicine to name a few. That kind of broad explanatory and predictive accuracy is compelling.

However, May I offer a side note?:

Evolution is the theory of speciation.

Abiogenesis is the study of the origins of life on Earth. There are some facts and working theories, but scientists have not yet advanced a detailed coherent theory.

Astrology and astrophysics are the study of the vast neighborhood of space and matter beyond the earth and the physical laws that pertain to the workings and origins of the universe of spacetime, matter and energy we find all around. The big bang theory (how the universe happened) would be part of this field of study.

Evolution=origin of variation in species of life on Earth.

Big Bang Theory=origin of the physical universes.

My point bring they are not all the same thing.

As to my step daughter, she was 15 years old. Nobody of consenting age was involved.

You have forgotten to deal with the issue of Jesus being fictional. As to consenting or not, poor decisions have consequences, we seem to not learn lessons when there is an easy out. Now this is a very major handicap to both the young lady and the child, but if she is consenting enough to choose to have sex and mature enough to decide to take a baby's life before it has a chance to choose isn't she consenting enough to accept the consequences? There are many, many couples that can't have babies that would love to adopt. That way she learns a huge life lesson and the baby is given a home with loving parents.

Lot of that going around. I use a smartphone as well, and a stylus as my hands are quite arthritic and the stylus makes it more comfortable. After a brief learning period, I believe the accuracy of my typing improved with the stylus. Not sure if that will help a big thumb problem, but worked for sore fingers...

Btw thanks for the tip

We can't have intelligent conversations because of people that resort to insults and degrading. Have you won me over to your side calling me an i***t? Have you done anything but drive a wedge deeper? This question has an answer.... No!!!!!

A lot of Christians are h**eful towards atheists like myself. Part of it is a self defensive posture of reciprocity, I suppose.

I speak with nondeferential clarity because it is closer to my authentic response to the ridiculous claims of religions.

And I have the temerity to expose and mock the crazy illogic and downright false teaching of the Christians, against whom I argue the most as I have more knowlrge and facility with those concepts due to my culture and experience.

I find fault in all religions as a departure from knowledge and facts, especially when religious people hurt others by acting upon false premises supplied by their religious leaders.

Like this a******n argument.

Of course no one plans to have an a******n if they are not already involved in a desperate pregnancy. It isn't fun, it isn't cool and it isn't pretty.

But sometimes in an imperfect world it is the choice that precludes unwanted, intolerable to horrifically unimaginable consequences of problem pregnancies.

I wish my oldest step daughter could have delivered her dead fetus in a more sensitive environment. I am glad my other, then sixteen year old stepdaughter was able to continue her life sanely and reasonably as she planned, instead of becoming another inadequate sixteen year old single parent of a child her government will begrudgingly feed and constantly denigrate.

When she told me she was afraid God would never forgive her, I advised she seek a God powerful enough for her needs, or discard the notion of forgiveness from gods and understand that her Dad and I understand and support her decision so no forgiveness is required. Grieving the loss was the next reasonable task. Though it's really, really sad, we supported her in it being right answer and her choice for her life and her child's.
He is a fictional character. br br A lot of Chris... (show quote)

Very thoughtful. I do ask why u say Jesus is a fictional character however. There are several sources outside of the bible that document his existence and none that prove that he was not resurrected. Granted, there are none that can be proven unequivocally that he was. So that leaves faith. You say that it is illogical to believe in the God of the bible but I propose that it is more illogical to believe in evolution as the chance of the universe happening as proposed by such is mathematically impossible. Now to your step daughter, it is sad that she was pregnant at such a young age. I must clarify, was her pregnancy the result of consensual sex?

but the real issue here is the same one that has been argued for the last 43 years and that is "what is it that is growing in the woman's uterus after conception?" Would we take a 5 year old and cut them up and suck them into a shop vac cause we didn't feel ready to care for them? Would we shoot our grandparents because they are old and a burden to us? Stupid questions right? A woman does have a right to do what she will either her body but once conception has occurred, what about the right of the child? Ask yourself this, where were you a week before you were born? Or a month, or three months for that matter.

According to a study of FBI statistics, using a gun in self defense is very rare in the US!

But how many crimes have been thought twice of and how many lives were saved because it was unknown if the would be victim, or bystander, had a gun?

Aw, he just went mad and ran off after some foreign rich man's wife. She dumped him. Won't come back. I'm good with it by now.

I regularly rebuke his children for not being more attentive to his needs.

He is not in a better place. I own two houses, while he insists he can't afford an apartment and sleeps on a mattress he keeps in the closet at his tiny retail shop that contains a toilet and a sink with cold water only. I decided I was content for now for him live as long as possible, considering the sorry state his life has devolved to. My town house brings in from $1000 to $10000 weekly as an airbnb rental, depending on the doings going on in Nashville.

My three bedroom, garage as barracks for six, farm house is full of an alternating group of young unmarried women with fetuses, or children they need me to watch while they work or deal with baby daddies' drama or government redtape. Most went to school with my sons.

I've been lonely and thus gabby here on OPP this week, as the ladies are becoming so self sufficient, I've taken a week off child care as they are covering it cooperatively with their free time.

Our pregnant girl left to follow the baby daddy who broke down and relapsed into addiction after she had to have gallbladder surgery during the pregnancy, and the two days missed work caused him to miss the last crucial payment on his truck. It was repossessed a week later and he lost his job.

Hopefully she may return befoere too much harm done.

I prefer to put my time and energy to making a practical difference, such as it is, by positively improving the lives of women who are or have experienced desperate pregnancy or parenthood rather than just offering thoughts on the internet or telepathically sending requests for help to a fictional Jewish Zombie.

I pose the question that what is e******y? Is affirmative action e******y? I think not. Let's face it, if I was a 150lb guy that had a 300lb guy coming at me I would shoot him too. It becomes about race because we want to make it about race. B****s and w****s want to always make it about race. Can I say..... All l***s m****r!!!!!! All I want is to get up in the morning, go to work, come home to my family and glorify the name of Jesus Christ all the while. If we continue to bring up race, then it will always be about race. Another issue is this term "African American". Are you American or not. I'm not saying forget your ancestry, but embrace the diversity that makes this nation so great and claim it as your own!!!!
