Exactly true. Someone must have read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" 😉

But that's just it don't you see. Moral certainty is defined by the compass you choose to follow. For you, morality is a constant - never changing. What was immoral 100 years ago is still immoral today. For others, moral codes are defined by society and society is ever-changing (I believe it is referred to as enlightenment).

Who is to say which is right? We must all go our own way and see who makes it out of the forest. I am confident it will be me, so I will not be persuaded to change course ... regardless of how many names I'm called or titles I'm given. As I stated earlier, I do not have a say in the matter. My Creator has made those decisions for me. If he is wrong, then my compass does not point true north and I am lost.

Whether it be gay-rights, same-sex marriage, a******n choices, or a dozen other moral hot-button issues of the day, time spent arguing morality in America today is most definitely time wasted. Either we are led by our religious convictions, in which case we are obliged to follow the moral instruction of our Creator, or we choose to subject ourselves to the ever-changing mores of the society in which we live. Either way we have very little say as individuals beyond the act of choosing the one and ignoring the other.

Imagine for a moment you and 5 of your friends are lost in the forest on a cloudy day. You’re not exactly sure where you are but you know there is a road out just north of the forest. You have a compass in your pocket that you are certain points true north. You decide to follow that compass. Your friends get together and decide collectively to follow their own path. Now you may wish to stand and argue the merits of either choice but progress is not made until the journey begins.

You may decide you don’t want to be alone in the forest and therefore choose to ignore your compass completely and follow the crowd. Conversely, one or more of your friends may be convinced of the certainty of the compass and decide that following his or her friends is not in their best interest. Either way, you are either following the compass or following the crowd.

Thankfully we still live in a free society (for the time being) in which we are allowed to choose which ‘moral compass’ to follow. Arguments will be made, ad nauseam, as to who is most enlightened or which choice is the more progressive in an attempt to bully us into making one choice over the other. In the end, all that will matter is who gets out alive and who remains lost in the forest.

Has anyone seen the email going around showing Obama holding a book entitled: The Post-American World by Fareed Zakaria? In the picture he's holding his place with one finger as if to be somewhere in mid-read. According to the email, Obama was "...furious to have been caught on camera and the picture published." I've seen the image ... and if true, I'm baffled as to why a sitting president of these United States would be reading such things.

Thanks Raylan. I appreciate you setting me straight on this fact. I will have to go back and re-watch that Discovery Channel documentary on Mount St. Helen. :) Cheers!

Fact: Man made CO2 emissions dwarf volcanic emissions!

Sorry, link doesn't seem to be working. If interested, look up Time Magazine archived issue dated June 24, 1974. It's an interesting read.

I love this. Forty short years ago the ice age was coming with no hope of reversal in sight. Now, we are infinitely smarter and realize we had it exactly backward... the Earth is being warmed by man-made CO2 gases. But wait ... mean temperatures are dropping once again around the globe. Maybe we had it right back in 1974. Wait, no ... wait, I don't know ... we're cold - we're hot - we're cold again. Who can keep up? ... Well, at least were told 97% of the scientific community agree on something ... :)

For those interested in t***h, and who have the time and inclination to do scientific research, read about the emission of CO2 gases from a single volcanic eruption. Take Mount St. Helen for instance ... more CO2 gas released into the atmosphere from this single eruption than mankind has ever emitted in its relatively short existence on planet Earth. It's just a fact ... an inconvenient t***h as it were. But those who cling to the religion of man-made g****l w*****g will not be dissuaded by anything as bothersome as fact.

It is the arrogance of Man to think we somehow possess the power to effect the Earth's permanence. I liken it to the ant who believes its incessant digging and redistribution of earth somehow effects the rotation of the planet. After all, there are over 1 trillion of them living on this increasingly fragile little blue ball. Oh if only we didn't drive so many SUVs or throw endless number of plastic water bottles in our landfills. In less than half a century, we the mighty are destroying what took billions of years to create. What once survived numerous ice ages and horrific meteoric events now can not withstand the onslaught of mortal man.

Standard tactic of the statist: Repeat your position over and over and over again until it is excepted as fact. Then, paint all naysayers as ignorant, r****t, ill-informed, heretical, neanderthals. Once the naysayers have been permanently silenced, taught the 'fact' that 97% of the populace agrees with your position. You see this again and again with every controversial position in modern society as the left moves toward NWO and dissidents are systemically eliminated. The fact is: man-made g****l w*****g science has been thoroughly debunked. They only one's still clinging to this fantasy (other than the useful i***ts) are the people who gain monetarily and/or politically from the continued propagation of disinformation. If there were money or power in it, they'd still be trying to pedal the notion the moon is made of cream cheese.
