In the 70's I worked for a non-profit and we hired a lot of college work/study students. I asked one black 'student' what he majored in and was told "The history of the drum". I said "Wouldn't it be cheaper to go to the library and get a book?" But then I realized that I was paying for his college education and the professor's salary that was teaching him about drums. I hope the new Education Secretary looks into some of these 'programs' and starts cutting funds.

Everything in moderation. Automation is wonderful - to a point ! There's a lot of talk lately on self driving cars and delivery drones, both of which are already in real world testing. Does nobody see the problems here? Do you think no one is already working on ways to hack these things? How long before gangs or criminals start intercepting those delivery drones? But bigger than all that is control, he who controls the technology controls the users. If you think the government's toying with digital currency is a great idea wait till you're deleted from the 'system'. Some things are better off left alone. But one thing is certain the U.S. had better bring manufacturing back home if we're to survive the long haul. We've become dependent on other's for just about everything we use on a daily basis.
Actually I believe the failure began in Korea when Truman halted McArthur from taking on the Chinese. Look what the result is today. Had we done so both China and N. Korea would likely be allies like Japan is today. War is Hell, been there done that and what we should've learned is that our job is to win, quickly and decisively. We have the power but refuse to use it which results in a much higher than necessary U.S. casualty rate. It's high time to review the politically correct 'rules of engagement'. If we're not going to kick ass then stay home.

Or because he wants to reduce the size of our government which has intruded on every part of our lives? Or because he complains, and rightly so, about a media that is anything but impartial or concerned with finding the t***h? C'mon lady, step back and THINK ! Get beyond the emotion of your favorite interest and look at the whole picture.
Would it be too insane to form groups representing all of the varied healthcare interests including a diverse age group of citizens meeting separately at first to come up with idea's that each could live with. Knowing that each group would have it's pressure points that could be pushed and each would likely have a hardline 'non-negotiable' item. Each group presents their idea's to a committee representing a member of each, that was not involved in the original meetings, and three 'independent' members. This committee would hash out the pro's and con's and see if they couldn't come up with something that everyone could live with.
