We are on a fixed income, and I understand the taxes won't hurt those people. However, most didn't really get a raise on SS, due to medicare premium went up. I didn't get anything more, same as the last 5 years since I have been on it. My brother got $7.00. They forgot to mention medicare costs going up when they promised us the raise. Medicare went up $25.00 a month, so there goes your raise. Some got $2.00 more. I understand Ryan wants to change some rules on SS and Medicare, but I believe that is for the ones not retired yet, either raising the age or something more. I know Trump said when running that he was not going to do anything to Social Security or Medicare. I guess time will tell. Hopefully not. Thank God I am healthy and can work. I feel sorry for those that was looking forward to the raise, and got disappointed like I did! That is the good old government for you! Promises, but does not deliver. The dems would never give you a raise, they are too greedy, and just want you to die, so they can keep your money. Bad enough that you lose a ss check when your spouse dies, you only get the higher of the two. So they keep that money for themselves. Doesn't seem right!

Lindajoy, that is exactly what we need to do more of. HopeTrump doesn't turn into a politician, however with Ryan sweet talking him into things he may not would do, that too could change. Hope not, we need more regular joes in office, not these career politicians who just lie to us to get in office, then just serve their donors, instead of the American people. Hope Ryan does retire.

Trump is not a politician, however, I am hoping he stays the businessman that he is and not turn political. That is the problem! They need to get rid of the lobbyist groups. I have a friend I Texas and her husband is a lobbyist. We get into heated discussions all the time, friendly ones, but they need to go. They convince all these Washington i***ts to not let this bill or that bill pass. I just want what is right for the American people. I don't want the elderly left out in the cold or
not be able to get their meds, due to high costs. I thank God that I am very healthy, as well as my husband. But many are not, and have contributed to this country all their lives, and should have the funds to pay their mortgages, and buy groceries. My husband and I were not fortunate to have great jobs that paid into a 401. Unfortunately, not all do. We are better off than many, but not as good as some. I trust in the Lord, he will never leave nor forsake me. I won't allow myself to be worried about the future, does no good to worry, just makes you age quicker, and brings on illnesses no one needs. I am glad the dems lost. They used to be a decent party, when Kennedy was potus, he was a good president. I was young when Kennedy was president, but my dad liked him, and I trusted his judgement. My dad was a democrat, but he would not approve of them today. None have been good since, other than Ronald Reagan. This country has turned into a cesspool, and we need someone to help us out of the mess we are in. I am hoping Trump will at least do some good for "We the People"!
