Did you actually look at anything on the WH site? Do you know that he issued a number of other proclamations on that day?
For instance...
A Proclamation on National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, 2024
A Proclamation on National Donate Life Month, 2024
A Proclamation on Cesar Chavez Day, 2024
A Proclamation on National Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Month, 2024
A Proclamation on Arab American Heritage Month, 2024
A Proclamation on National Public Health Week, 2024
A Proclamation on National Child Abuse Prevention Month, 2024
A Proclamation on Care Workers Recognition Month, 2024
........
All of these and more were all on the WH page dedicated to various statements and proclamations by the President. ALL were proclaimed the same day. Good Friday. March 31..
It's a customary thing in government - even at the local level - to issue all the proclamations for any given month or week on the same day. Yet the right AND left chose to focus ALL the bandwidth and news coverage on the one that has been on the same day for many years.
Meanwhile, the Proclamation naming April as the "Month of the Military Child" -
https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/p**********l-actions/2024/03/29/a-proclamation-on-month-of-the-military-child-2024/- got absolutely no airtime because all the focus was on the f**e outrage from the right on the one they disagree with.
I have two grandchildren who have not seen their dad since last July because he is deployed. Our son didn't see his 5 year old daughter go to her first day of kindergarten. He didn't get to hug and comfort her when other kids picked on her because her daddy couldn't come to Daddy's day at school.
This girl is a total "Daddy's girl" and misses him terribly.
Every. Damn. Day.
But no one on the right cares about that, or about every other child whose parent can't be with them or whose parent may be lost to them forever. All they care about is that one "outrage" because "proclamation day" happened to fall on Good Friday. Know why THAT was? Because it was the last working day before the month of March ended.
So please stop with the f**e outrage and read the rest of the proclamations. Maybe spare a few thoughts for the people they celebrate, even if you choose to ignore or deplore t*********r Americans.
