That's just a stock photo, but it's very similar to how things look around here when it snows...many farm houses all by themselves all decorated up! I'm sure you have similar sightings there in Minnesota, although I think you might be a bit farther north than than we are. Minnesota is a beautiful state! You've shown some pretty pics yourself!

That's more in the bigger cities, I think, where parking is a problem, etc. These small farming communities are full of friendly people. There are a fair amount of Amish/Mennonite/PA Dutch families who have small farms and sell their fruits and veggies in their side stands (along with home-made pies, jams and other goodies).

When I lived in Boston, people were like you said - putting chairs and other things in the street to "save" their parking spaces....and fighting with people when someone parked in the spot you spent hours shoveling out...no, I don't miss that.

Sure! People come out of their shells during a storm...helping each other with the shoveling out and making sure the elderly neighbors are "taken care of". It's a nice little community. And snow brings out the "we're all in this together" in everyone. I'm actually looking forward to the first big storm!

I live in upstate New York....near the Finger Lakes. About an hour south of Lake Ontario. We get the usual snow storms, but we also get the "lake effect" snow off the Great Lakes. When that happens, we get footage! One year - I think it was 2014 or 2015 - there was seven feet (yes, FEET !!!) of snow near Buffalo, which is about an hour and a half west of where we live.

Me too! We had our first snow a few days ago. Nothing accumulated, but it was coming down pretty well, and gave us that feeling that we best be getting ready. So...our snow blower is tuned up, filled up and ready to go. The shovels are on the deck and the jackets, boots, hats, scarves and gloves are all clean and ready for the first "real" snow!

I hope it's a White Christmas this year!

I agree! I just CANNOT imagine a woman (A) being stupid enough NOT to do something to keep herself from getting pregnant; and (B) being malicious enough to even THINK of going to an a******nist and watching him or her torture and scrape her baby out of her.

One really good way to stop a******n is to make it the crime it is - murder - and deal with it according to the laws of our land on how to deal with murderers: Life in jail or even death.

First-degree murder is the most serious of all homicide offenses. It involves any intentional murder that is willful and premeditated. Women who use a******n for birth control should be held accountable the same way anyone else would be held accountable if they k**led the baby that was growing inside her.

If a******n was called what it is: first degree murder, women would find other ways to avoid going to jail....and it wouldn't be back ally coat hangers, either. It would be called BIRTH CONTROL.....and fortunately, she already has many ways of obtaining birth control methods that would KEEP her out of jail! Women need to STOP being stupid about this!
