THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
R.I.P.
The constitutional United States of America ceased to exist on June 28, 2012, the day The Supreme Court released its decision on Obamacare. That decision has effectively rendered the idea of a limited federal government defunct. It was the epitaph of The United States of America.
The United States of America has turned a corner and there is no going back. Irrespective of any Republican attempts to repeal Obamacare, the Supreme Court decision has established a principle and it can not be reversed unless another similar bill is challenged. Such a process would take a long time and, by the doctrine of stare decisis, The Court would be unlikely to reverse it. This happens very rarely and thus the crucial precedent is established. The federal government can legislate anything it wants and if Congress or the Executive argues that its a form of taxation, the court will fall into line.
More & worse is to come. Just realize how long it took to even bring the action before the Supreme Court which didnt have to agree to hear it. Dont forget, it was under Republican Pres. Richard Nixon that wage & price controls were emplaced.
In collaboration, Obama, and Congress, all now know there is no limit to the power of the federal government and they will all proceed accordingly, Republicrats and Democ****es. They will act in a loose conspiracy to advance their individual agendas but, with a few exceptions, there will be no voice raised in advocation of the proper federal role in our lives.
It has been long since it was possible to declare any action by anyone illegal. It is also now possible to declare any inaction illegal simply by claiming its a tax. The federal government can order anyone to do anything it wants. All it has to do is place the order within the framework of some national need such as safety, health or national security.
Realize, that means the limits of power are the imagination of the collectivists. That was the stated opinion of a prosecutor on the occasion of the twenty fifth anniversary of the RICO Act. When you consider this decision with things such as RICO, the Patriot Acts and The National Defense Authorization Act, we have no constitutional guarantees to our personal freedom either. For actions and inactions, you can be declared a noncombatant enemy, spirited out of the country at the discretion of a petty bureaucrat and imprisoned indefinitely without trial and your very existence denied. This is no longer The U.S. of A. that we have been taught to love.
With this latest nail in the coffin of freedom, is it worth it to recite The Pledge of Allegiance (which I have been very suspicious of for a long time; after all, why pledge allegiance to a f**g?) Why sing the national anthem, a reworded English saloon hall chanty, or stand in the presence of government officials? They represent lies & delusions.
What does this mean for the future? The only courses open to reclaiming our republic are reforming the government which, based upon the sheer inertia of all government personnel, including military, bureaucrats, congressionals staffs and a host of others, I submit is impossible, and secession. All government personnel, view their own survival as necessary for the survival of the country. Based upon history, secession is a path fraught with danger & violence.
As Thomas Jefferson wrote in The Declaration of Independence, people are far more likely to endure a long train of abuses than to immediately rise up and abolish the form of government that has been visited upon them. He believed it and he felt it was obvious that most people would simply accept the insults.
We have endured the insults but I submit that this could have all been avoided had we simply not tolerated the excesses that began even in the administration of George Washington. But acquiesce we did and we are today in this situation which is tearing this country apart and will likely rip it into regional shreds.
And this is where it all gets very frightening. With the exception of the historically recent collapse of The Soviet Union and the desatellization of eastern Europe, the elimination of an errant government has usually been accompanied by the worst of horrors.
Hungary in 1956 and Czecho-Slovakia in 1968 tried to leave the Soviet sphere of influence only to be crushed by their tanks under Nikita Khrushchev and Leonid Brezhnev.
Much forgotten has been the attempted secession of Biafra Province from Nigeria in the late 1960s which cost 3 million lives and the attempted secession by Armenia from Turkey which resulted in the granddaddy of all twentieth century butcheries which Armenians today correctly call the First Genocide. The worlds acquiescence prompted none other than Adolf Hitler to voice non-concern in the plans for his exterminations.
And what is likely to happen here in the U.S. of A? Those prospects arent particularly encouraging either.
Of course, there was the precedent of The War Against Confederate Secession which led to the bloodiest conflict in our history leaving the South in poverty and setting its development back decades. More than 600,000 Americans lost their lives in that horror show.
More recently there was the siege at the Branch Davidian compound outside of Waco, Texas began February 28, 1993 and lasted 51 days. In an initial fracas, 4 government agents and 6 Branch Davidians were k**led. In the final assault on April 19, 1993, 76 Branch Davidians were k**led. Different reports list a slightly different number of casualties but this the general toll. After the assault, the compound was leveled and about eight Branch Davidians allocuted to various charges. They were imprisoned with some still serving their sentences.
Many of the details are in dispute but no one challenges these several facts about that standoff.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF), the previous July had received information about possible illegal weapons at the compound. When cult leader David Koresh heard about it, he actually invited the ATF agents to come to the compound and inspect it themselves. They declined each and every one.
Koresh himself regularly went into Waco (the compound was several miles outside the city) and could easily have been detained with no harm to anyone. McLennan County Sheriff Jack Harwell tried to talk the ATF into simply talking to the leaders. They refused and opted for the massacre.
What all these things mean is that the world wont care about us as our federal government takes wh**ever steps it deems necessary to perpetuate its power. Indeed, much of the world will regard it as a spectator sport with poetic justice or worthy karma to watch it happen after the horrors our imperialism has heaped on it.
Disperse, ye rebels, disperse! may yet be heard again, only this time from our own government and I am convinced no administration would have any hesitancy in issuing such an order.
