Why is 'The American Dream' so uplifting for some of us and yet a nightmare for others??? "CONTROL" - "POWER" - "ELITISM" all have equal importance to the Socialist Dictator... The Conservatives want Freedom and E******y for all, Black, Brown, Yellow, White... The Socialist want to cause hatred between all towards each other... Black against Brown & Yellow & W****s... Yellow against B****s & Brown... And W****s against B****s & Browns... It will be a civil war about race and money which will result in Martial Law which will give Control, Power, and further Elitism to the Socialist Dictator... Don D.

When Liberals Think, Laughter Ensues
There are few better places to go than Reddit's /r/ politics when you want to get a feel for what liberals believe are the important issues facing the country, Consumed by an all-encompassing hatred for Republicans, religion, and America, Reddit's lefties endorse marijuana legalization, net neutrality, and cop-hatred with roughly equivalent levels of enthusiasm. But sometimes they come up with an idea so asinine it deserves special attention.
Such was the case this week when a Redditor with the username Cheese with Wine figured out why race relations were so poor in todays America. No, the problem isnt with race-baiters like Sharpton and Jackson (and CNN and MSNBC and Obama and
). The problem is that the Union should have de-N**ified the South after the Civil War.
In his alternative history, the north would have erased Southern culture and all of its ugly r****m in the years following the war:
The South should have been placed under military occupation for at least 50 years, with the federal government taking over responsibility from their state governments. Remove the confederate f**g. Remove all symbolisms of the South. Teach them exactly how and why the Confederacy was wrong, and generally wipe off Southern culture in the same way the Allies wiped off Prussian militaristic culture.
He gets dreamy just thinking about it. If the federal government would have only taken these steps, this Redditor could have grown up in the liberal utopia his college professors told him about. Gone would be the gun culture, the religion, and the patriotism. Instead, we would have b****s and w****s living in perfect harmony, free healthcare for everyone, peace, and respect for knowledge and expertise. Though not written by Chris Matthews, I'll bet Cheese with Wine got a little chill up his leg just thinking about it.
Power Fantasies
One i***ts reflections on Reconstruction would hardly be worth noting if they werent so emblematic of todays liberals. Frustrated by their inability to persuade every single American to agree with their view of the world, theyve begun to entertain thoughts of forcing conservatives over to their side. Decades of media brainwashing, judicial activism, and p**********l overstep simply hasnt done enough damage. Until someone invents a time machine, they wont be able to go back and change history. But with enough maneuvering, maybe they can chart out a different course for the future.
What future do they want to see? Well, our friend the Redditor lays it all out for us. Its a future where America embraces atheism. A future where those nuts with the guns are marginalized and probably locked away. A future where we take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Scratch that! A future where we get rid of the Pledge altogether. A future where we can send most of our paycheck straight to the federal government and wait in line for days to see the doctor. A scientist could be president! An atheist could be president! Rachel Maddow could be president!
Ah, maybe someday
The American Dream Lives On
If there is a concept nearly every liberal can agree on, its that the American Dream is dead. Some will even go as far as to claim that it never existed to begin with. And its this underlying, un-American philosophy that drives the policies of the Democratic Party. Its this failure to appreciate freedom that drives their attack on the rich. Its this sickening belief system that drives their desire to see America become more like the democratic socialist countries of Europe.
But the American Dream is far from dead. If you want proof, you need only look at the thousands of people who come here each year through both legal and illegal means. Despite some very difficult immigration bureaucracy, America remains the destination of choice for anyone who wants to go as far as their sk**ls will take them.
Its only natural to take for granted the things youve had your whole life. While liberals decry male privilege, white privilege, this privilege and that privilege, they rarely take any time to recognize American privilege. Because to do so, they would have to acknowledge that a lot of what they're fighting for is, quite frankly, frivolous.
The Tools Are All Here
Never in history has knowledge been so readily available. The wisdom of 4,000 years of recorded history is waiting in any public library. The Internet has made it so you dont even have to get in your car to answer almost any question you might have. Colleges around the country offer courses in any field of study you might imagine.
As much as liberals cry about the divide between the rich and the poor, they fail to understand that its an imaginary line. We have no caste system. You can start in a trailer park and make it to Park Avenue. Does it often happen? No, its a difficult road. Its fraught with peril, competition, and obstacles. But its a victory that can be won with desire, dedication, and discipline. All the tools are there. You dont have to be a genius, you dont have to be supernaturally talented, and you certainly dont have to be white.
But money isnt everything that the American Dream stands for. For many, the dream is to start a family, own a home, and live a nice quiet life. For others, the dream is to travel. Some want to dedicate their lives to helping others. All of these dreams are possible, as are many others.
That isnt the case in every country. Not by a long shot. Its thwarted by totalitarianism, taxes, and closed societies. Its thwarted by religious governments that enforce laws that bring new meaning to the word oppression.
As long as we remember the tenets upon which this great country was founded, the American Dream will live on. If there are people who want to deny its existence, thats their prerogative. But its a shame. You can improve your life much faster by bettering yourself than you can by carrying a protest sign outside a fast food restaurant.

Rand Paul Lists His Festivus Grievances
It would be difficult to come up with a sitcom that has as profound an effect on pop culture as Seinfeld. Years after it went off the air, no soup for you, shrinkage, and yada yada yada are just a few of the phrases we still commonly use. But it is Frank Costanzas Festivus celebration that has earned an annual spot in our holiday season.
Created to rail against Christmas commercialism, the holiday involves a cheap aluminum pole, feats of strength, and of course the airing of grievances.
This year, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul decided to have a little fun with Festivus. He took to Twitter with his own list of grievances, and they are just too funny (and a little bit sad, considering their t***hfulness) not to share. If you need a little Christmas pick-me-up, take a read through them on Pauls Twitter account. Here are some of the highlights.
As a doctor, I was trained to do no harm. Wouldn't it be nice if politicians started from that premise?
Unfortunately, thats not the world we live in. Not anymore, if we ever did. Politics have been rife with corruption, bad ideas, and greed for as long as any of us have been alive. It is a testament to our countrys underlying beliefs, our laws, and our Constitution that we havent somehow managed to sink ourselves under the weight of Washingtons idiocy.
Your government spent $387,000 of your money on Swedish massages for rabbits.
Paul listed quite a few examples of government waste in his tongue-in-cheek rant, but this one perhaps represents the grievance best. Surely if there is enough room in the budget to fritter away nearly half a million dollars on insipid studies, then there is room to start cutting taxes.
Did you know you could go to jail in DC for 90 days for giving a tour without a license?
Paul next took aim at ridiculous laws, which speaks to his pedigree as a libertarian. The Kentucky Senator has some conservatives worried that he is not to be trusted with foreign policy, but it is in his overarching desire to see an America unrestrained by limitations on freedom that he redeems himself. No president will ever be a perfect choice, but Pauls commitment to real change makes him a valuable participant in the debate.
4th Amdt Grievance. The Obama Administrations idea how to deal w/ the Patriot Act and the NSA spying on Americans.
This was accompanied by a picture of the Bill of Rights with the 4th Amendment blacked out. This was how Paul chose to wrap up the annual airing of grievances, demonstrating how important it is to him that we reign in the federal governments invasion of our privacy.
I dont agree with everything Paul says, but I think he makes for a much more interesting GOP candidate than many of the proposed frontrunners. He may rub the establishment the wrong way, he may be a bit too bi-partisan for some hardliners, but he is a fresh voice in a country desperate for them. That he has a sense of humor is just a bonus.
