I live in China and work here as a journalist. Don't believe anything China says. They make the figures up as they go, just as Mao did re: steel and rice production during the Great Leap Forward. One has to ask why Chinese elites have offshored more the $4Tn and are busily buying residences abroad. They expect a very hard landing and are making sure to have their ace in the hole.

I've lived outside the US since 1975 and glad of it. The US is sinking and all kinds of weirdos are crawling out of the woodwork, witness this thread. I've lived mostly in Europe and Japan and work for a German company in Asia. All I see in the US is extreme polarization--people aren't helping each other bail or fix the leaky ship, they're just pointing fingers and blaming each other. Glad to be out of that mess...
