You're the one who said its from Breitbart. I didnt know where it was from Hollywood. I got it off the military forum. You will have to remember what you wrote and not expect others to have to remind you. [
I'm speechless.

Why is that a problem? Who puts money in their mattress for 100 years? If, instead, you'd put your $100 into government bonds, you'd have $2,300. If you'd bought $100 of the S&P 500, you'd have $25,000.

(If you'd bought gold, BTW, you'd have $2,000)

"The five worst mass k*****gs have a common thread.

Hint #1: they don't belong to the NRA.

1. Ft Hood~~~ Registered Democrat ~ Muslim

2. Columbine ~~~ Too young to v**e; both families were registered Democrats and progressive liberals.

3. Virginia Tech ~~~ Wrote h**e mail to President Bush and to his staff ~ Registered Democrat

4. Colorado Theater ~~~ Registered Democrat; staff worker on the Obama campaign;
Occupy Wall Street participant; & progressive liberal.

5. Connecticut School Shooter- ~~~ Registered Democrat; h**ed Christians.

Common thread is that all of these shooters were progressive liberal Democrats.

Also, of the worst k*****gs in the last several decades, only one was a female,
all the rest were boys, barely men, and none of them had a strong male father
or role model in the household. Their role models were rappers, action movies,
comics and violent video games. Our problem isn't weapons, it's boys without
boundaries. Who live in 'progressive' households"

I'll bookmark this for July.

You should start considering who benefits when you believe the constant predictions of the collapse of the dollar. They've been going for decades now. Hopefully, all you do is gripe about it. But some people trade on this fiction. I can't tell if new people get duped every year or if it's the same dupes every time. Don't be that dupe!

I'm solidly Left, but I have a lot good to say about George W. His immigration policies were forward thinking. I'm officially the last fan of No Child Left Behind, which was a welcome change in education policy.

Bush 43 did more for Africa than anyone before. I respect someone who wants to make our country into a force for good in the world. Even if two unnecessary wars seem to counteract the positive effects of African aid, I appreciate the intention.

Reagan was a good bloke. Solid fiscal Keynesian. Compromiser. Played both foreign policy good cop and bad cop with panache.

I will repost the information I believe was put out by the CBO, it doesn't say what you just posted. And it doesn't matter who did what only what do we do about it now !!!

Agreed. I'm interested in a real and rational discussion. I think it does matter that we realistically assess where we are now in order to decide what to do in the future. The facts, as I see them, are these. In 1983, Ronald Reagan and a Democratic Congress told my parents, "You'll have to start paying more into Social Security, otherwise, there'll be no money there when you retire." So they paid, for decades. And it mostly worked. Social Security can continue to pay full benefits until 2033 without any changes (http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2013/05/31/trustees-full-social-security-benefits-will-only-last-until-2033)

Meanwhile, we borrowed money from that trust to fund the rest of our government without collecting sufficient taxes to cover our (profligate) spending. The Social Security Trust Fund now owns $2.7 Trillion in Treasury Bonds---that is, the Treasury owes $2.7T to Social Security.

Now, I don't want to be the one to tell 60-year-olds, "Sorry. We spent all your money trying to 'starve the beast' so you'll have to fund your own retirement."

I thought Obama's proposal to apply chained CPI was a good one. Gradually scaling back SS to more reasonable levels. He was crucified on both sides for that one.

Of course, Social Security is the easiest of our "entitlement" concerns. Medicare is in much worse shape. The problem is there's a sort of "mutually assured destruction" situation that freezes our congresspeople. Witness how Obama was accused by Romney/Ryan of "cutting" 700 billion from Medicare in 2012. The same thing will happen the other direction the second Republicans propose a plan to "fix" or "patch" Medicare.

The root of the problem, of course, is that health care costs are rising faster than expected. Do you have any ideas for how to combat that?

Of course there is another explanation, first of all he had made a foolish statement that terrorist were on the run especially Al qaeda which was just a re-e******n talking point. The second reason and the more important one was the illegal gun running thru Benghasi to Syria and that's the illegal cover up. Those people could not be captured or be subject to questioning otherwise , certain people would be in jail and that includes Obama most likely but certainly Holder.

Like Reagan, Oliver North, and Bush 41, went to jail for selling arms to Iran?

But, I guess Obama's just a lot smarter since a half dozen Congressional hearings, subpoenas, etc. failed to uncover his secret arms dealing. Unless there's another explanation...

We all know that medicare is currently in the red and that social security will be next sometime in the next decade

Neither of these statements are true.

Social Security, will, in fact, continue adding to it's trust fund until 2019. After that, it will take in less than it pays out, but will have a positive account balance. If not patched, the trust fund is projected to be exhausted by 2033, at which point payments will be made out of revenue collected.

Medicare's situation is more dire. It is set to exhaust it's trust fund by 2025. Data here:

www.cbo.gov/sites/default/files/.../45010-breakout-AppendixF.pdf

If you have more time, this report is worth a read:
www.kpcb.com/usainc/USA_Inc.pdf

It compares the financial health and long-term solvency of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

In my view, it would be a shame to pull the rug out from under current seniors who paid for Reagan's 1983 social security "fix" their whole working lives.

You Repubs are a piece of work. So Obama didn't really believe attacks in Libya were related to the same video that caused the r**ts the same day in Cairo, but instead *pretended* to by calling YouTube to complain? That's one clever and conniving SOB. Unless there's some other explanation...

ActuallY a 97% devaluation in anything is by definition considered a collapse of its value. So yes the dollar has collapsed.
This isn't rocket science it is the same thing that has happened to every fiat currency throughout history. Study the French Revolution from an economic stand point and you will think you are reading about the US.

Awesome. I'll short gold while you take the long position.

Thisweek,

You have to remember that the Republican Party is populated by people who believe the earth is 6,000 years old and that humans descend from a woman who took an apple from a talking snake. The weirdest thing is that these people whine and jump up and down when their fellow citizens don't take them seriously.

Why should you be surprised when the propaganda arm of the GOP, Fox News, throws a Rumplestilskin temper tantrum, when the other networks refuse to cover their latest "clown car" show--B******i. This story has been investigated and found wanting.

You would think these know-nothings would have learned something from their "birther" gotcha fiasco.
