We have done exactly that:

Mexican war - Mexico had land we wanted
(California and big chunks of now Texas, Arizona and New Mexico). We offered to purchase. Mexico said hell no. So we invaded and took. Very logical.

Spanish American war - All the cool nations had empires. Our easiest path to an empire was to peel off some of the Spanish empire they were too weak to hold on to. So we did.

Iraq war - We were attacked on 9/11 by a bunch of Saudi Arabian terrorists. Neocon Americans had been wanting to invade Iraq for over a decade. So we did.

The original post used CDC National Vital Statistics System annual Total Death counts for years to show there was no big jump in deaths for 2020 that a c***d p******c would predict. The problem was the 2020 total used did not reflect all 12 months of 2020 data. The current total of 3,358,814 is a stable 12 month total for 2020 and shows a jump of over 500,000 deaths over 2019. Statistics can establish the existence of an assignable cause for a deviation that is outside the bounds of normal variation such as this.
If space aliens had started bombarding the USA with neutrino rays in 2020 that might qualify as a candidate cause. However the only news event that seems plausible is the v***l p******c we experienced. If c****-** did not cause those extra 500,000 deaths then something else did and we need to be searching it out. The evidence supports the c****-** hypothesis.
