1. WOKE has been the watchword of the last year.
"It derives from the African-American Vernacular English expression "stay woke", whose grammatical aspect refers to a continuing awareness of these issues.

First used in the 1940s, the term has resurfaced in recent years as a concept that symbolizes perceived awareness of social issues and movement. By the late 2010s, woke had been adopted as a more generic slang term broadly associated with left-wing politics, social justice activism, and progressive or socially liberal causes such as anti-r****m, L**T rights, feminism, and environmentalism (with the terms woke culture, woke politics and woke left also being used). It has also been the subject of memes, ironic usage, and criticism for its methods and consequences. Its widespread use since 2014 is a result of the Black L***s M****r movement.

Then look at this link & Video specifically the video several paragraphs down
https://areomagazine.com/2019/03/15/teaching-to-t***sgress-rage-and-entitlement-at-evergreen-college/

This happened several years ago but it is emblematic of what is going on now and has been slowly gaining strength in most of our colleges: Social justice and white guilt are being taught thru throughout our country today.

The entire history of America has been re-written in the 1619 Project. This was a series of stories/articles published in the New York Times from August 2019 onward. Many historians dispute the accuracy of the material presented in this.

It is a rewrite of the entire American History from Jamestown, thru the War of Independence, as being built on the S***ery of B****s. This is now being taught as fact in many public schools K-12 level.

The author has no background in history but is a Black journalist.
Classic literature has been banned from many of our schools. New re-written textbooks are appearing.

2. Failed e******n: It makes no difference in the outcome because there is no proof that T***p w*n the e******n. But there is enough evidence that some states and municipalities changed the rules against state constitutions. These were validated by politically appointed judges. There is adequate proof of identity at the polls with millions of b****ts more coming in then sent out! V****g machines with 67% error when it should be under .0001%.

3. Failure of public health. C***D **. There should have been adequate materials at federal and state levels. There should have been mechanisms for tracking and isolating those at risk. Hospitals now order supplies like auto factories just in time, so they don't have to stockpile protective gear and medicines. The supply lines failed. Our government failed to stop the spread of the v***s. The wrong businesses and institutions (schools) were shut down. The v***s was allowed to rapidly spread. Not one political party is to blame both are.

4. What got me started is a failure of the US Post Service to deliver a priority mail send on Dec 15 to Tupelo, and as of 19 Dec.(10 days ago) it has been lost! Yet Amazon gets me things from across the country in 2 days or less even in the Holiday Rush.

I can ask, what can we do??? But I will ask what will ask, WHAT WILL YOU DO?
I am beginning to believe we are living in a faili... (show quote)

Thanks Capt-jack: I like especially the term "applied postmodernism". It puts a lot of current events into context. Also seeing this as akin to a religion. The hysteria does seem to parallel the destruction of every religious movement imposing its will on a population. The Salem witch trials in the 17th century comes to mind.

Strange isn't it, that Trump tops the list with Biden a distant third, while Biden outpolls the v**e totals of both Obama and H. Clinton in previous e******ns.

I don't think the people feared the v***s as much as they despised the draconian rules passed to force people to give up their freedom to meet with friends and to go to work to earn a living. It makes people think too much of what will happen to us when the l*****t c*******ts finally rule.

Hi Fallen: I guess it depends on who you talk to. I've seen all kinds of news stories of people being harrassed for simply not wearing a mask. And the political leaders in several states seem to keep getting eleccted.

No. The 1933 address was concerning unknowns, the fear threat now is from misinformation, i.e., too much information.

Hi lpn: I think the domination of fear is from different causes: one was from economic collapse and all kinds of ideas of what caused it (including from the socialists and c*******ts of the day) and today from the media giving the impression that a v***s infection is virtually a kiss of death. So despite the surface differences there was in both cases all kinds of misinformation creating fear of what horrible things the future might bring. I think today FDR's quote from a prominent and accepted leader would apply and help.

Placing the people into a state of fear is a supreme way to control them. A Democrat strategy.

And a way of using fear for political purposes. As I think it was Holder who said; something like never let a good crisis go to waste.

I have a question as to what everybody here thinks; that is, if this quotation from President Roosevelt's inaugural address in 1933 applies to how our country has responded to the C***d v***s p******c?

What about the new Congressional Democrats who first won 2 years ago, and almost didn't get reelected. I would think they might have trouble following the same Democrat approach the next two years.

That sounds like profiling to me, which in many liberal circles is a definite No-No.

Trump was just pissing on the bill, if he really wanted $2000 he would have been more engaged weeks ago and republicans and dems could have made it part of their negotiating.

The idea that trump was involved in any part of this except to piss all over it at the last minute is mindless tripe.

Woody; it did bring out the hypocrisy of the decision makers! :)

Usually a lame-duck President fades from the scene and goes away quietly. Not this year! Our generally considered Lamb-duck President and disrupter-in-chief is following his usual pattern - exposing what is really going on in Washington DC (often called the Disney land of the East). 1.) His recent veto or threats of vetos exposes again to the public the vast expensive and irrelevant pork Congress will throw into an appropriation bill as soon as they can hide it behind a popular action that would be politically unpopular if not adopted (like sending $2,000 to every american to help with the v***s and reaction to it consequences. 2.) or not just letting the e******n go (for the good of the country) like Nixon did when the reported v**es didn't go for him in 1960. Instead following every challenge possible to bring attention to the thousands of witnesses of actions that didn't look right, or e******n and computer analyses that concluded that the numbers didn't add up or the reported v**es were statistically impossible if the e******ns had been honest. Even if Trump loses the challenges, he will be going out with a bang, not a whimper. Apparently the thinking is that letting the reported results stand (even if there was c***ting), damages the country more than the turmoil of getting to the bottom of the complaints at this late date in the e******n cycle.

My first impression of this forum was it was dominated by emotional and partisan screeds participating in a circus. But after a couple of months observing, it was obvious some of the participants knew what they were talking about and I could learn from them. So, I bite the bullet and jump in.

Not my fault you are dense as hell.

If dems were doing what Trump and the GOP is doing right now I would be raising hell because that is not the America I know and love and it is t*****rous!

I do not prescribe to conspiracy theories. If the situation were reversed I would want undeniable proof.

You seem to be stuck on the word investigation, as if no investigation has occurred, no FBI investigations into v****g irregularities, no individual state or local investigations, no e*******l oversight. And that's just BS. There have been investigations, recounts, and over 50 court cases.

Trump and the GOP legal teams have spent tens of millions on investigations and court filings and recounts.

They found NOTHING.

So if the situation were reversed I would be posting on here telling the Dems the same thing I am telling you, get over it, stop the lies and the madness, and let's try to move this country forward.

And by the way, I am not a dem!
I answered you over and over and over. br br Not ... (show quote)

Wild; it seems to me that the issue has been timing of the filing, lack of standing, etc. None have been able to present the evidence as of yet in court for these other issues. Like the most recent one was the Supreme Court didn't want to get into the situation of telling the states how to run their e******ns.
