It was impossible not to feel a sense of relief watching the Democratic debate after months dominated by the Republican circus of h**ers, ranters and that very special group of king k**lers in Congress. For those despairing about the future of American politics, here was proof that it doesn’t have to revolve around candidates who p***e themselves on knowing nothing or believe that governing is all about destroying government.
Civility was a big winner on Tuesday night, and the discussion of real issues was refreshing. But what stood out most was the Democratic Party’s big tent, capable of containing a spectrum of reality-based views. All five candidates – including two refugees from what had been the Republican Party, Lincoln Chafee, a former Republican senator, and Jim Webb, Secretary of the Navy in the Reagan administration – have real records. They also have real differences on important issues — national security, foreign policy, gun safety, financial reforms. Those differences illuminate the choices that have to be made in governing, some likely to be successful, some ineffective.

The debate probably won’t change much in the polling. Hillary Rodham Clinton reminded us why she’s the front-runner, with her experience, command of the issues and strength in communicating ideas. She seemed both at ease and fearless. It helped that the candidates actually valued time to discuss issues. One of the biggest applause lines was Senator Bernie Sanders’s quip to Mrs. Clinton, “the American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails.” Supporters of Mr. Sanders embraced his passionate critiques, but his performance may not convert those skeptical of his ability to broaden his appeal.

The biggest point of agreement was on income ine******y, the central theme of the Sanders campaign and one that was been put on the top of the agenda by the other candidates as well. The question, of course, is how to reduce it in an economic system that has been moving toward ever greater ine******y. Mr. Sanders said he would change the tax code to have the wealthiest pay a lot more, with new revenues going to education, free college tuition and health care for all. Mrs. Clinton would also raise taxes, and said she supported reining in “the excesses of capitalism so that it doesn’t run amok,” though it’s not clear what that would take, given the trajectory we’re on.

There was agreement on the need to raise the minimum wage (Senator Sanders proposes $15 an hour; Mrs. Clinton gave no firm number) and specific views on how to improve financial reform efforts – break up the big banks or improve the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill. Regarding unauthorized immigrants, there was agreement that they should be allowed to purchase coverage on the health exchanges, but Mrs. Clinton, unlike the others, did not support giving them government subsidies.
On guns laws, there was great divergence. Mr. Webb has earned an A rating from the National Rifle Association; Mr. Chafee and Martin O’Malley, the former governor of Maryland, have Fs; Mr. Sanders said he had received a D-minus, but had a tough time explaining his v**e against the Brady Bill. He seemed so determined to continue pandering to his gun rights constituency in Vermont that he got lost in the odd idea that he is more in touch with rural v**ers than the governor of Maryland and ended up undermining his image as the righteous t***h teller.

On foreign affairs, there was disagreement over the American role in the war in Syria and against the Islamic State. Mrs. Clinton supports a no-fly zone in Syria, an idea opposed by Mr. Sanders and Mr. O’Malley. Likewise on surveillance and security issues, Mrs. Clinton defended her support for the Patriot Act, which allowed the National Security Agency to create a vast secret surveillance program, while Mr. Sanders opposed the act and said he would shut down the program.

These are healthy and necessary disagreements on difficult challenges that America faces. There is no one way to achieve a more economically equitable and just society, but these Democrats have that common aim. Their discussion showed a capacity to absorb facts and adjust plans to consequences. The Republican candidates may have a lot of fun campaigning for office, but they haven’t a prayer of knowing what to do if they ever entered the White House.

The pollsters are paid guesstimates. they use statistics and weighted averages to guesstimate the opinion of people. A far more telling statistic is the increase of US Citizens that now feel the need to obtain a concealed permit and/or those US Citizens that are buying guns opposed to 10 years ago. When a countries population does not trust it government, there is an exponential increase in the purchase of guns, despite major moves to restrict the purchase of ammo and or guns. you can d**g out every poll available and that is not as telling as the purchase of guns / ammo.

Raylan: This will be put to the test soon enough; as of today 34 states has said no way; no how....including two democratically controlled states. The Catholic charities, receiving US Tax payer funding to help resettled refugees peed in their post toasties today, when a newly arrived Syrian refugee disappeared in Louisiana, after using a forged passport. Nobody is accountable and the state governors know this. The pushback from the state level has just begun and this resettlement will grind to a quick hault, through removal of funding or push back from the states.

Another interesting situation is that Obama is pushing for more gun control, but it will never happen in light of attempting to import more unvetted Muslims. He and the other liberal politicians would have one hell of lot more credibility in this venture if they retired their security details or disarmed them. I find it hypocritical as hell that the ones pushing for gun control are protected by armed security details, yet these politicians want removal of guns in the hand of the everyday citizen. You will see a rapid and exponential increase of concealed carry permit applications in the weeks and months to come. The only thing that can be said is that Obama is the best gun salesman this country for the past 50 years. It shows a complete lack of trust that the American people have in his judgement and his actions.

Not trying to insult you, but I do not agree with any aspect of your post. Let's be real for a minute. The GOP candidates have had three debates, all hosted by left leaning media organizations that are very quick with the gotcha questions. If you have taken the time to view these debates and witnessed the obvious liberal bias used in the questioning, you would have to admit that the line of questions seen so far are designed to embarrass the candidates and not shed light on solutions for our country.

Why the great love fest directed at the Democrat candidates during their lone debate. The contrast in the moderators line of questions for the Democrats and the GOP candidates prove the bias found in the media. It likens to propaganda for the Democrats. I cannot blame Carson for not wanting to be a party to such a travesty which lacks any modium of fair and impartial questioning. Your post shows the same mindset as the moderators. It is a given that Hillary is preordained to receive the Democrat nomination and the press is doing their part in distorting the views of the GOP p**********l candidates to assure Hillary's ascension in her bid for President. The mass media is nothing but the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party. The internet would reach more people, present the views and solutions of all candidates, then let the people decide which is best suited for the highest office in the land. I take it that you perceive the internet as a threat to Hillary's path to the White House. I know the mass media h**es this because of the loss of advertising revenue. I h**e it for the mass media, but this is a self inflicted wound.

My friend, you are entitled to your opinion, but I do not agree with a single shred of your post. I personally have weapons, but I have never seen them jump out of the gun safe and shoot a single individual. In my opinion, using this incident as propaganda for gun control is tantamount to providing cover for the real issue. We have a Administration that has made a career of lying to the American people; that publically fans the flames of racial divide. This Administration has elected to ignore the loss of sovereignty in our country by not securing our borders. This particular political class is terrified of an armed citizen. If you had any knowledge of the Constitution and the reason the 2nd Amendment was included by the framers, you would sing a different tune. Take a look at the following list of countries that disarmed their citizens prior to wholesale genocide. Do you not think that is possible here in the US? Do you trust this Administration since the current President has made a career of pathologically lying to the American people? Take a look and tell me what you think? Here’s a history of what happens after governments have disarmed their citizens:

1911 – Turkey disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1915 – 1917 they murdered 1.5 million Armenians.
1929 – Russia disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1929 – 1953 they murdered 20 million Russians.
1935 – China disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1948 – 1952 they murdered 20 million Chinese.
1938 – Germany disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1939 – 1945 they murdered 16 million Jews.
1956 – Cambodia disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1972 – 1975 they murdered 3 million Educated people.
1964 – Guatamala disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1964 – 1981 they murdered 100,000 Mayan Indians.
1970 – Uganda disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1971 – 1979 they murdered 300,000 Christians.

I do not disagree with you. The most expedient way for us to control the House and the Senate membership is to have each state responsible for paying the salary and perks of each member of the US House and US Senate. The staff expense of each member of congress should also be paid by the states. When the salary, perks , & staff are paid by the US Federal Government, these professional politicians become myopic and forget their loyalty to the states. Each state legislature could control the US political class using this this procedure. This will take a Constitution Convention, instead of legislation, as the professional political class know this will end the power broker plantation system in Washington.

The establishment Republicans and establishment Democrats are frightened over the prospect of Trump receiving the nomination because the party will be over; purchased influence will be prosecuted, malfeasance of office will be exposed, and many other misuse of political office will be stymied.

Large business, large media, and the political elites are out to destroy Trump's candidacy because he cannot be bought and the influence currently enjoyed by these groups will be greatly reduced. What do you think?

How long before Hillary drops out?

Another day, another poll to rattle former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's p**********l campaign.

Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm, found her on Tuesday trailing Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., by seven points in New Hampshire's first-in-the nation Democratic primary. It was the second poll to get such a result.

Why is this happening? Clinton's c****ation as the Democratic nominee was once taken for granted. Some of it has to do with left-wing Democrats' justifiable sense that she is not one of them but, rather, an entitled millionaire who cuts an odd figure as a populist champion of the middle class.

Most of it is due to her lamentable but characteristic decision six years ago that she was above federal laws and regulations governing t***sparency and secrets. She has done many deeply questionable things over the decades and gotten away with them, but the decision she made as she entered the State Department in 2009 may prove to be her undoing.

Clinton set up a secret, private, unsecured email server in her own house and used it to conduct all State Department business. In the process, she not only thwarted Freedom of Information Act requests for her correspondence, but also exposed top secret classified information and sensitive conversations about America's high-level diplomacy as easy bait for minimally competent hackers.

Clinton has given Americans every reason not to trust her. This is the main reason she already trails comparatively unknown Republicans in states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio.

The newest poll showing Sanders' lead in New Hampshire actually predates the latest chapter in her tale of concealment and deception. Clinton's email problem became known in March. She asserted then that there was no classified information whatsoever on her server.

Months later, it was revealed there was classified information within her email account, including "top secret" information. At that point, she and her supporters tried to characterize her role as that of an unwitting "passive recipient" of such information.

Then this was also exposed as a lie. Recently released emails show that Clinton discussed sensitive enough matters by email that large and small sections of her conversations have been redacted in their publicly released versions and formally marked as classified to protect national secrets. Because of the sensitive topics she discussed, these emails are considered classified from their inception; the chronology of their formal classification is immaterial.

Even sensitive information from America's foreign allies was c*********d by Clinton's recklessness. One email from the Clinton cache released in July pertained to then-British Foreign Secretary David Milliband's 2009 trip to Afghanistan. A five-page message from his aide was forwarded to Clinton's unsecured private email address by her longtime aide Huma Abedin. In its publicly released version, nearly every word of it is redacted and marked as classified until the year 2029.

Why is Clinton struggling? Because she broke the rules and then repeatedly offered false explanations and excuses. Is she electable? It should be easy to give a resounding "no" in answer to that question, but Democratic primary v**ers may not come to that conclusion in time.

Even so, there is also the possibility, as Vice President Joe Biden smells blood in the water and considers a p**********l run, that Clinton herself will prefer a semi-dignified early exit from the race rather than a battle to the end and ignominious defeat.

With all due respect, you are entitled to your opinion, BUT not your own Facts. At the completion of the e******n process, the individual Secretaries of State must, by law, certify that the e******ns are valid. Out of the 13 Swing states, 9 of the Secretaries of State are Democrat. George Soros has donated major sums of money to 527
organizations to 'buy' the Secretary of State e******ns in all of the swing states. This was confirmed by the Washington Times in 2012.

Much discussion has been held on the fraud encountered by the following 1) electronic v****g machines that do not accurately record the v**es (George Soros controls major ownership in the two largest suppliers of electronic v****g machines that are being used today in US e******ns. 2) Not having a photo ID requirement greatly increases the likelihood of v**ers casting b****ts in multiple precincts and/or multiple states. 3) Not having a photo ID requirement also allows and encourages absentee b****ts / physical casting of b****ts by the same persons. 4) Jeb Johnson, Head of Homeland Security is attempting to rush naturalization of the 5 million i******s that have been allowed to stay in the US by the Obama Administration. The usual timeframe for naturalization is 5 years. If he is successful in compressing the naturalization process into less than one year, that will bring a v****g block of 5 million new naturalized former i******s into the v****g booth for the 2016 e******n cycle. I will lay a small wager as to which party will benefit from this move. 5) The v**es of foreign deployed military troops (176,000) in the 2012 e******n cycle did not make it back to the US in time to be counted (according to the Army Times). DOD acknowledged there was a glitch in the system, but again the v**es were not counted.

You calling the Republicans h**e fill cretins is laughable because they want the rule of law to be equally applied to everyone and no sleight of hand used to win e******ns. Do I trust the Democrats? The short answer is not no, but hell no. Too many irregularities, to many uses of tricks, misdirection, and outright fraud. OK, we can play the game of trust, BUT verify. Me, I am just a cretin, but I want photo ID's for every v**er, I want tamper proof v****g machines, I want all i******s deported according to current US Federal Law and then placed at the back of the line for naturalization where they can wait their turn (5 years in length), I want the US to tell the UN to go to hell on importing more Muslims into the US. I know all of my wishes go against the Democrat model of 'do what ever it takes to win e******ns' but hey, I am for following the rules of our current laws. Either follow the laws or repeal them. What is happening at the moment, our government is telling all of the US Citizens that we must follow the rule of law, but i******s are not required to do the same. The just offends my sense of order! I know what I have shared does not fit your narrative, but that is OK, as well.
