Boys will be boys? I thought they were supposed to grow up to be men! I thought the service academies were training male cadets to be 'officers and gentlemen.' Yet, time after time, we hear about female cadets being hassled or even raped. Give me a break!
In colleges, when young women try to follow the rules and take the assault to the school first, the result if often that she either stays, and has to see her rapist every day, or she loses out on college, and we lose out on fine young people who could contribute much to our country.

Oh, Lord, another troglodyte speaks. Women belong where ever they are qualified to be.
On the one hand, any woman who lies about assault, makes it more difficult for women and girls who truly are assaulted. The t***h is, at some time in her life, any woman has a 25% chance of being molested, either as a child or a woman. But be aware, it is also about 15% so for boys or men. Do you deny that?
As for jokes about rapes, when you tell such a joke in any group of people, when you figure out those percentages, and add in their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, any person who has had the child or woman in his life assaulted, chances approach 100% that you are going to be offensive to someone in that group.
I am not a 'girl.' I am an adult, female human being. I h**e being referred to as a girl. And I learned that from black men who finally stood up and said 'Don't call me boy!" A man who was a redcap at an airport taught me the difference: He turned, saw me, and said "Miss, may I help you with your luggage?"
I had a female boss once who said she liked being called a girl, as that was an acknowledgement of being young looking. But she got SO steamed when the men who were department heads had a weekly meeting, and she wasn't invited. She shared that with me, and I smiled and said "Maybe they don't invite children -- or 'girls.' Her jaw dropped, I saw her thinking that one over, she then turned on her heel and left to attend the meeting. Later, she told me that when she stomped in, they looked up and said "Why are you here?" She snapped back, "I'm a department head too, and I WILL be attending these meetings!" That was that. And the next time an engineer came in and said "Have one of your girls draw this up." She said "We don't have any children here. Just ask us to do the job." And we did.
One guy, much younger than I at the time, came to me, threw his work at me, and said
"Here. Can you type this?" I told him to type it himself. Boss heard us, and asked the problem. I told her "He ORDERED me to do his typing!"
Boss backed me up. Told guy that it was a requirement of his work that he do his own typing. She told him to learn, very fast, or leave. He didn't last long. I cranked out a bit of work that an engineer needed to get on a plane. I got it done in three hours. Dufus took a solid week. I tried to help him, he stubbornly refused to listen. Same kind of drawing.
As for the sexual harassment now being 'discovered' I could tell you stories that would curl your hair. I was also harassed, and often. The difference, was that I would get the offender in front of his buddies, shoot him down in flames so badly that all his buddies would laugh at HIM. I was never any man's doormat.
Sound like a raging feminist? Well, leave out the raging part. But there are times when I do understand why a male colleague in any position gets angry. In one oil company, a female 'engineer' was always acting helpless and asking the men to do anything requiring physical strength, for her. Getting the same pay, doing half the work. In Nevada, all the f**g people on highway construction are women. It used to be that, when men were digging ditches, and one of their bosses saw a man getting tired, he'd assign the guy the job of f**gman, to give him a break. Now, it is 100% women, and the men quite rightfully, resent it. Any person, regardless of g****r, ethnicity or strength, MUST meet the same standards, or they don't get the job. No tests get 'dumbed down' to accomodate any person. They must all pass the same test. Period. My daughter was an Army MP, and she met every single standard set for the recruits. She marched the same miles, carrying the same weight pack, she scored perfectly on rifle range. She did the same pushups, not 'modified' type for women. After graduation, she served three years in Germany. Once, they were called to a bar where there was a fight of some sort. Her partner happened to go in first, and immediately got lights out. She waded in, turned a few of the offenders into temporary sopranos, and protected her partner. She had so much adrenaline chuffing through her, she didn't realize she'd been hurt until someone said "What happened to your face?" She tried to answer, then couldn't, and pain was terrible. Then she looked in a mirror, and discovered her jaw had been dislocated! They had to sedate her to put it back in. Is my daughter some sort of 'butch' female? Nope, five feet ten, slender, perfect skin, green eyes and long, beautiful hair. She married and has two children, my grandchildren. My son served also, in destroyers. My granddaughter married a submariner like her grandfather, and my grandson is active in the Army now.
SO: A woman's place is in the House -- or Senate. Or wherever she is qualified to be. I was hired once for a technical illustrator job, based solely on my portfolio. Guy doing the hiring didn't want to interview any applicant until he saw that. I was hired based on having the best portfolio -- he didn't know I was a woman until after he saw my drawings.
Obviously, no favoritism there!
There are now a good many men in jobs once held almost exclusively by women. Male nurses, male flight attendants, male teachers. Should they be disqualified based on g****r?
I never marched on anything. Never burned any undergarments. Never stopped wearing makeup. I just worked to my best quality all the years I worked. I was too busy raising two drug-free kids, and working outside the home, to bother with marching. AND, if a man and I are approaching the same door, and he has the heavier burden, i hopen doors for him. If a man holds the door for me, I thank him with a smile. Simple courtesy ought to fix a lot of that. AND, if a man and woman ar married, but not to each other, and are having an affair, BOTH of them should be fired! Unless one of them is a CEO, then he/she should pay restitution. It's called e******y. Same pay, for same job. And everybody at work should be equally compensated, or equally fired, based on ability, or harassment.

I dearly wish we could get ONE generation to adulthood, without rape or incest or harassment. I believe a lot of our problems would go away if we could just do that.

I have learned in the last week or so that the radiation is so hot, now it cannot even be measured. As for newspaper publications, one of the people on this forum said it's all over YouTube, and you can find it there, many of them going back to 2014. One other correspondent said even all the tide pools that children love to explore, on California shores, are barren and empty. Those are the nurseries for baby creatures.
I suggest you not eat tuna, or salmon, as both species are irradiated. That suggests that other creatures, such as
lobster, crab, mussels, any of the crustaceans, might also be dangerous to eat. It will k**l the fishing industry!
If you really like tuna sandwiches, switch to canned chicken. Tastes about the same, even in salads.
In my first posting on this topic, I gave readers lots of references. If you are interested, email each, they will be happy to add you to their mailing lists. Free. And check those YouTube references.
As for the Navy, recruiters should be telling applicants "Well, since you are giving us a blank check on your lives, you should be warned that you might be exposed to radiation, whenever."
One expert said the Fukushima disaster might even be a 'Species extinction" event. And he didn't mean just fish.

He said "The Fukushima event is the worst man-caused accident in the history of human kind." We will be paying the price for centuries. And since I live in Nevada, I will fight against opening Yucca Mountain to my last breath.

I have a difficult time believing in people who cannot spell. Your article was otherwise well written (though I disagree with many of your points) You used 'lose' as 'loose.' NO! Lose is when you lose an e******n or your wallet or other things you care about. "Loose" means something like "Oh, my pants are too loose!" Or "That screw is loose!" Or "That shirt is too loose on you. Did you lose weight?" Dammit, SPELL. Another one that many otherwise intelligent people use that makes my teeth clench: "I h**e that (wh**ever) allot." That one word is actually two: "A lot." Spellchecker doesn't help in these cases: If a word is a real word, but is in the wrong context, Spellchecker doesn't catch it. So, we get crazy sentences, even in $30 hard cover books, such as "He poured over the map intently." Did he serve the map a beverage? The word for "To study intently" is PORED. Not POURED!
In another book, an author wrote "The calvary arrived." Nope. CAV-alry means soldiers on horseback. Or modern armored units of the military. Calvary is where Christ died. Yet I've heard that mistake in movies, in news accounts, even a guy who was IN the cavalry, called it calvary! Verbal laziness!
There is no Q in nuclear. There is no AT in preventive. There is no AT in Exploitive. There is no U in realtor.
Citizens of Italy are NOT "Eye-talians." Citizens of Arabic countries are not "A-rabs!" And the place where my grandson risked his life in three tours in Iraq is NOT pronounced "Eye-rack!" Nor is Iran pronounce 'Eye-ran." Maybe if we would stop mispronouncing other countries' names, perhaps they wouldn't h**e our guts so much. So, Ee-rock, Ee-rahn. Or should we rename that other Middle East country "Eyes-real?"
If you want to know how to pronounce the names of those countries, listen carefully to the three main news announcers. They get it right. Or go back many years and find a book called "The Ugly American." Written not by a foreign author, but by an American. How did I come to this sensibility? Look at my name above. It is Nikol-ee, NOT
Nikol-eye! People see my name printed, read it as Nikol-eye, and then they call me Sir! Start looking people, and start listening! If you begin to get it right, I will give more credence to your opinions! One hint: If you see the letter
"I" in a foreign word, chances are about 99% that it carries the "ee" sound.

Jeez, I h**e hearing about WOMEN indulging in sexual harassment. I fought to be considered just another worker in my job in aerospace. When I was young and a lot skinnier, I could have told you stories about males doing that, which would have curled your hair. They often knew my Navy husband was gone up to 7 months at a time, or later, as he served on 'boomers' (nuclear ballistic missile subs), when he was 3 months gone, three months home, I never said word one about his presence or absence. But the male engineers were nearly relentless in their comments and actual demands for sex. One jerk who was a minor supervisor actually said "Do me or lose your job." I shot back "Hell. There is NO job I need that bad!" I never gave in, was never any man's doormat. In fact, I usually got him in front of his buddies and embarrassed him so badly, that his buddies laughed at HIM. In one major aerospace company, I learned of young women who felt frightened, and who needed their jobs, being hassled into having sex with an engineer up in the 'stacks; - a place where all drawings for the various aircraft were stored - ON COMPANY TIME. And those are the most minor incidents. Now, to hear of a woman doing the same thing, is so disappointing to me, and to all women who worked hard to just do the job. I guess it is not about sex, but about some jerk's notion of having power over others. Male jerks, female jerks. Seems it never changes. Fire her sexist ass! And one other change I would love to see: If two people are married, but not to each other, and their affair becomes known, BOTH of them should be fired! Not just one of them. Then we might be able to stop this nonsense. But, what if one of them is the CEO? I guess the courts would be her only choice. Or his. There is so much nonsense that goes on in the workplace. It sickens me. I was even told once, that I was taking a 'man's job.' Nope. I had the better portfolio.

While you're at it, spell check "Puerto Rico!" And it is NOT pronounced "Porta Rico," it sounds like Pwer-to Rico. It means 'Rich port" - which it used to be.

about being ordered not to do her job? It isn't unique to that job. I was once hired by a major manufacturer to work on a bid for a satellite system. Boss told me to proofread the existing documents on the bid to "familiarize myself with the bid."
I found so many typos, he made me quite finding them! The company which made the original satellite system, lost the bid to another contractor!
Another company told me "I don't care! The lowest bidder gets the contract. Even if it is printed on toilet paper!"

He was wrong. On another contract for a different contractor, we got the bid because 1. it was submitted on time, on budget, and 2. The quality was so much better than the rest, they awarded the contract to my then-current employer. Even though their bid was slightly higher than the next one.

One of the bids was for a power plant to be built near a tribal area. I happened to have a book of Native American art, and I made the cover using it. They were blown away, and after reducing the size a bit, used it as tribal letterhead!

Don't TELL me quality doesn't count. I've proved that it does. Catering to a company or other entities needs and wants, works. Once, I was told I was 'Too perfectionistic.' I challenged my boss to go back, see all the drawings I had completed, add up the time spent on each. (Each hour of work was given as a 'unit' and each unit was considered to be one hour of work. And each of us was supposed to produce 9.5 'units' in an 8-hour day.) Each drawing, the number of it, and the person doing the drawing was logged in a big book. And the number of units for each drawing. He took me up on that challenge. He came back an hour later, looking bleak. I looked up and said
"Well?" He replied "You're doing 11.5 units a day." Doing it right the first time, meant I didn't have to interrupt my current drawing, to correct one that I had just finished.
Besides, the world needs a few perfectionists. Do you want the plane in which you are a passenger, to be built by someone who doesn't give a rip? How about your pricey Swiss watch? Surgical doctors?

I once wrote an aphorism, and I wish Trump could hear it. "Never trust the leader of a country if his Army marches in Goosestep!" Hmm, North Korea, Russia?
One thing Trump and any other US leader should realize: When the Russian sub "Kursk" was sunk, it was only in 300 feet of water.
Well, that's a hard hat dive, and those surviving sailors could have been rescued. The US and Norway offered help. Putin went on vacation. And declined help. US, and Norway, have deep diving submersibles who could get down on a sunken sub, seal
itself over the hatch of the sunken boat, and take people to the surface. How do I know? Well, for one, I was married to a submariner. I read every book I could find about subs, divers, (hard hat or scuba), and in one of those books, I read about the rescue of surviving sailors on our early boat, "Squalus." She was refurbished and later, entered WW II service. (You can't fool sailors. The Navy renamed her "Sailfish." But her crew dubbed her 'Squailfish.") In addition, the "Lusitania" lies also in 300 ft. Way back in the 30s, a hard hat diver descended on that ship. Later, some other divers in the 50s did, as did Cousteau later yet. Eventually, "Kursk" was salvaged and was returned to Russia.
To rescue the "Kursk"-- all they would have had to do is send a hard hat diver down, breathing helium/oxygen, and he could have attached a heavy wire to "Kursk's" hatch. The wire could then have been used to bring a deep diving submersible down to the correct hatch, and the men could have been rescued, a few each trip. I saw a news item where Russian submarine wives were calling Putin a monster. I cried with them. So, each US president should realize how utterly ruthless Putin is.
Trusting him is utterly foolish.

Yeah, but I thought we still had a free press? I've notified two TV stations in Las Vegas, two newspapers, nothing.

I was recently notified by another friend of the fact that a newspaper article in Berlin, their paper called "Der Spiegel" printed an article about those people who were on the USS Ronald Reagan, when it was sent to Fukushima to help, began to be ill with various cancers. Male and female, enlisted and officers, are now coming down with Thyroid cancer, testicular and ovarian cancer, Leukemia, and cancers of all other kinds.
The Reagan, and her accompanying ships that make up her battle group, were at one time 50 miles offshore, later, they pulled back to 100 miles.
They cannot sue the Navy, so now they are trying to sue TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company), and of course, that will take an enormous amount of time. Some of the people have already died. It is hoped that compensation will at least, pay money to their survivors. I have personally notified two Las Vegas TV news programs, and two newspapers. I gave them references so they could research the situation themselves. Nothing.

So, here are the references: Google "Fukushima Updates," then add the current date. Also, read the archives dating back to the date of the disaster, 3/11/11. There are several postings with the approximate same title.
Here are other resources. Do your own research:
"Beyond Nuclear:" linda@beyondnuclear.org. Ask to be placed on the mailing list, it is free.

Nevada Nuclear Waste Taskforce: Judy Treichel, judynwtf@@aol.com. She is the executive director for Nevadans working to stop Yucca Mountain. It would be insane to put waste there. Under the site, there is an earthquake fault, and under that, there is a water table. And there are signs of ancient volcanism. No volcano can ever truly said to be 'dormant.' Vesuvius last erupted in 1948!

Ace Hoffman: rhoffman@animatedsoftware.com. He was quite active at getting the nuclear station nearest him, shut down. He also earns his living by doing animated software for medical school and universities. Ask him for a link to his nuclear animated software. Especially, watch "Poison Fire." Ace can also be found on YouTube.

NIRSNET: nirsnet@nirs.org.

Fairewinds: contact@fairewinds.org. Read Arnie Gundersen's articles, and see his videos on YouTube; He has also traveled to Fukushima, twice. He is a nuclear engineer, with a Phd in nuclear engineering. He has been quoted as saying "This is the worst man-caused disaster in human history!" He thinks there is no chance of remediation of the disaster before 40 to 100 years, using technology not yet invented. And TEPCO wants to dump several millions tons more irradiated water into the Pacific, on the thought that it would 'dilute' the radiation.

Watchdog: info@watchdog.com.

Harvey Wasserman: solartopia@me.com

Also, Tokyo is forcing Japanese farmers to grow produce on poisoned land, and sell it in the markets in Tokyo. I have seen a video of a Japanese farmer begging not to be forced to grow such produce. Farmers will not eat it themselves. Further, and even more cynical, Tokyo is scheduled to host the Summer Olympics in 2020. And they are PLANNING on feeding that to the athletes!
I notified the IOC, nothing. I notified the US OC, and did talk to a woman there who was willing to listen. She did tell me that American Olympic Athletes carry food to eat when they are competing in foreign lands. I understand why Tokyo wants to continue: If you Google "Tokyo Summer Olympic Games, 2020," you will see that they have already prepared magnificent venues for the Games. But I personally think the Games should be sent back to any former Olympic city that still has intact Olympic venues. Los Angeles, London? There is still background radiation in Tokyo! Yet, having spent so much money, I can understand why they would like to proceed. So, if we can get them informed, at least the athletes can make a choice whether to attend, or not.
Tokyo is now also threatening to send all the people who were dispersed after the Fukushima accident, back to their homes. They plan to cut the allowances that made it possible for evacuees to stay away from Fukushima.
Even worse, in a perfect demonstration of how radiation can harm DNA, there is a group of the monkeys called Macaques, who often in winter, go into hot springs. One such group lives near Fukushima. To keep the monkeys from overbreeding an area, they are often 'culled.' Scientists are finding that fetal and baby macaques are being born with smaller brains, and smaller heads!

The whole topic just gives me the willies. I have 13 living descendants, and I want a green and safe world for them.
