Talks with carrier have gone on for 15 months..

This particular round of talks began last summer. Before Trump was a candadate for office.

Details of the agreement are scarce, and the Indianapolis Star reported overnight that many workers will very likely “still be laid off.”

But for the workers whose jobs appear to have been saved, it’s still unambiguously good news. The president-elect will head to Indiana tomorrow to celebrate the deal, take credit for the negotiations that began earlier this year (long before he even won the Republican nomination), and point to the progress as proof of Trump’s ability to boost American manufacturing.

There is, however, an important catch.

In this case, Trump didn’t use his self-professed expertise in negotiations to reach a compromise with Carrier. Rather, he and the state of Indiana gave Carrier lots of money through state “incentives” and tax breaks in order to convince the company to stay.

That, in and of itself, isn’t especially controversial. Cities, counties, and states do this all the time to keep companies happy before they pick up and go somewhere else. But it’s not the basis for a sustainable, national manufacturing strategy: the Trump administration can’t run around throwing grants and tax breaks at every CEO who’s thinking about moving production jobs out of the country.

Indeed, there’s an Economics 101 problem: if companies are led to believe the government will give them money to stay in the United States, every employer, whether they have outsourcing plans or not, will have a strong incentive to call up the Trump White House and say, “Give us a sweet, taxpayer-financed deal or we’re out of here.”

There is no scenario in which the Republican administration says yes to each of them.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for those Hoosiers who’ll keep their jobs. I also understand the benefits of a political p.r. campaign: Trump will hail himself as a hero for effectively bribing Carrier to only lay off some of its Indianapolis workforce.

There are eco friendly alternatives. Using hydrogen extracted from water is the one solution the govt. and corporate oil will go to any lengths to cover up. It has been proven time and again that using hydrogen does not leave a smog footprint and the exhaust is water. It reverts back to it's original compound. Pissed me off when mythbusters conducted an experiment on their show about water for power and concluded it a total myth. I knew, at that moment, they had been instructed to fail! I have conducted my own experiments and they sure didn't look like the one on the show, and mine worked. If you want to see for yourself, just take a bucket of water, a car battery(fully charged), attach two one foot lengths of wire to the battery post and drop them into the water. Take a torch and hold it over the water and watch the hydrogen that separates from the oxygen ignite.
Could you imagine how many corporations would crash, if you went further and discovered how to run your car, home, boat, lawnmower, the list goes on and on. I enjoy looking for ways to use alternative energy sources, so I will stop posting before I get carried away!

And he has fooled us all. For you consdertvatives, the news is somewhat bad. He isn't the total conservative you thought he was and that you wanted. For liberals, the new2s is a smidgen (not much) good. He has a few thouights that match ours -- not many, I grant you, but he may come around to reality on some scores, like the dog that chased cars and one-day caught one.

It is clear that he does not intend to be a fulltime president. He wants to engage in his business, which takes up time he should be spending on affairs of state. He has shows just a bit of awareness about c*****e c****e/g****l w*****g. Not much, I grant you, but a tiny bit. He isn't going to prosecute Hillary because he knows he would not win. He has moved in a slightly more progressive direction about the minimum wage. I think he is up from his position that employees are paid too much tro one of advocating that the minimum wage should be $10/hour.

He still lies almost every time he opens his mouth, witness his claim that there were "millions" of fraudulent v**ers. And he is against a recount, for wh**ever reasons.)

You have been fooled, hoodwinked in an incredible fashion. And so, to a lesser degree, have we liberals.

Remember Clinton deregulation intended to benifit minorities (specifically B***k A******ns ).
Then remember George Bush jr. Going in person to the hill twice begging congress to avoid a major recession and bring back banking regulations. He also drafted multiple letters to Congress (Democrat controlled ).
Remember congress giving George Bush the finger, refusing to change a liberal policy put in place by Bill Clinton.
Remember then the worst ever recession about two and a half years after George Bush begged congress to regurgitate banking.
Remember all the liberals pig piling on conservatives, blaming George Bush for the recession.
I***ts, "the useful i***ts ", ignorant, stupid liberals have an amazing sk**l of "short term memory " and "selective memory ". Pisses me off.
They are incapable of understanding the recession was put into place with "the new deal ", gained traction in 72 with Nixon putting America on a fiat currency, driven off the cliff with the passage of NAFTA, and Clinton's banking deregulation. Then the dems removed the guard rail when refusing to prevent the recession and regulate banking. But the stupidity of the left blames Bush.

T***p w*n Michigan comfortably. It was not that close. If they wanted a squeaker, why not Maine, which Hillary barely carried?Better still, Trump should demand a hand recount in California. The Liberals' aim is to take the three states in question out of the e*******l v**e counting. A demand in California would remove their 55 e*******l v**es which went for Hillary. If the recount is not completed by a certain time, then the House of Representatives will pick between Hillary and Trump. As per the 12th Amendment, they can't just pick anyone. It has to be the top v**e getters. This was done once, in 1825. As I mentioned in another post, with 193 Democrats and 242 Republicans, who do you think will win? Remember, this is a simple majority, not a two thirds. I don't understand why they are bothering, unless it is to show their asses more than they already have.

Did anyone bother to think that Trump really won by a landslide, but the hacked v****g results didn't show that to be so? Now that T***p w*n, more people than ever favor him. You wanna take new v**e? The Clinton FIX failed? Did they think a new legitimate recount might reveal the t***h, that Trump really won by a landslide?
But we all know nothing legitimate will ever come from the corrupt side that we v**ed against and the biased crooked media that sucks up to them. We Americans have all swallowed a lot of e******ns we weren't happy about. Be glad it's America. You can try again in 4 years. Only very shallow minds have a fear of listening to views other than their own. That goes for the corrupt media as well. Real patriotic Americans want to see Trump start instituting the plans we v**ed for. It's done folks. Face it.
