Always wondered is it green egg and normal colored ham, or are both the eggs and the ham green? how long does ham have to sit out to turn green? Personally I prefer green toast, blue eggs, and purple ham, can someone send me my order now, so I can eat and then go to bed?

* I think you are misunderstanding my point. I saw you as judging all homosexuals by the violent acts of a small sub set of gay people who purposefully hurt/abuse others. If one followed this logic then all the heterosexual rapes/abductions/violence against women would then lead one to believe that heterosexuality itself were abhorrent.

* I completely understand that we have differing starting points on this topic. You believe the Bible is the uninterpreted word of God and I do not.

- I find your stance particularly baffling though as I expect you eat pork and shellfish, wear clothes of 2 fibers, etc. All of which are clearly noted in the Bible as a*********ns to God same as homosexuality.
- It's this willingness to selectively interpret the Bible to meet one's own particular needs that makes me unable to take seriously any of these stances based on ancient texts.

Perhaps there is a communication gap that goes both ways. As I understand it the first testament (old testament) is a history of the Jewish people. the dietary laws and the rules of dress were for the Jewish people to keep them separate from the pagans inhabiting the same area. The Jewish religion was the first big monotheistic religion and the rules were to keep the Jewish people separate. The new testament did not negate the 10 commandments but also stated that we are to love our God with all our heart, soul and mind, which sums up the first four commandments, and love our neighbors as we love ourselves. That does not mean that we tolerate wrong doing in our neighbors and friends any more than we tolerate wrong doing in our selves. True love includes helping people to stop doing things God says are sins, not celebrating the sins that we do. God says that homosexual behavior is a sin, not just that behavior directed against children, or forced upon other people. Yes, it is worse to molest children that to have same sex behavior, or opposite sex behavior outside of marriage but all three are sins. I have less training in the Bible than many on OPP and if you want to have the old Testament laws discussed turn to Ginnyt. Apparently you believe that all sex between adults is holy or the holy part is not of concern to you, but we were talking about God's love for sinners, which we all are, whether or not we admit it. How you interpreted that to mean that child rape was the sin and that I believe that all homosexuals rape children. either that or you believe that all heterosexuals rape children, which makes even less sense. I do know that some homosexual couples are in celibate relationships but do not dare admit that to other homosexuals for fear of being condemned and humiliated. We have two such couples in our church and both have talked about that in group discussions. Talk about bullying of the highest order!!. You and I are coming from different points of view but seem to be able to have civilized conversations which works well for me, and hopefully for you. I will PM shortly.

NPP - Your metaphor does not hold water because you are comparing t***sgressions that materially hurt other people (theft, adultery) with homosexuality, which hurts no one - only the sensibilities of those that do not understand it.

And please do not define all homosexuality with a small sub-segment that make choices that are truly hurtful to others. If we used that standard then heterosexuality itself would be abhorrent.

First off, why would heterosexuality be abhorrent? I didn't think that raising children with a mother and a father was to be considered abhorrent. If reproduction, which cannot be done by cells dividing,or, as of now, by cloning,. it really does require a man and a woman to produce a child, is something you abhor then you would have to desire the species to die off, perhaps to leave the planet to the microbes and bacteria which do not need heterosexual reproduction to survive, any more than Ebola or HIV do. The Bible says that homosexual activity is a sin. It is not my right to decide which of God's laws should be ignored, and which should be followed, nor is it yours. Perhaps in the Brave New world of socialist Utopia where humans are cloned and preprogramed to be robots for the State, natural reproduction will be abhorrent. But then the entire human race will be operating toward Satan's goal so one more sin, that of homosexual activity, will make no difference.

Perhaps, though, I am mistaken and the Bible and the Ten Commandments really say "all forms of sexual activity are holy, as long as it feel right to the people participating in the act"

At the very least good food for thought.

They have been working toward that goal since at least the 1930's if not before.

Excellent advice. the pain heals better with help. Unfortunately false shame so often gets in the way. These days there is more understanding of the shame as well as the pain for boys, but then sometimes the L***Q activists get in the way of men seeking help.

They certainly do if it is Christians working with kids.At least if the therapists dare respond to the question "does this mean I am homosexual?" by saying "no, but it means that the predator was a homosexual p*******e" As I have said a number of times, I don't care if homosexuals have nightly group sex in the privacy of their homes, or if they have long term relationships, if they just leave the kids alone. Most understand that and some even agree on that point, but it sounds like Grumbledog may not be one of them, or he wouldn't automatically accuse someone of lying because he said he was molested by numerous men as a child. We have worked with a number of kids who had similar experiences, and the hole in their souls (an expression used by one of the kids) takes a long time to shrink and never completely goes away. They all need our prayers, understanding, and never to be told "it was your fault"

PSALM 99

Lord, we ask that You return to us, we need You. We need You to be our sword, our shield, and our banner that we may march triumphant against Satan. Hold us close, Lord, wake the sleeping giant that has won battles in the past, let us not rest on past laurels. Let us rise from the ashes to once again be leaders in the fight against evil, against the strong arm tactics of Satan. We know he will be vanquished, but never let us rest until that day. Strengthen our resolve to be winners, winners in the race for righteousness.

You, Oh Lord, are a forgiving God, and we are wayward children. Draw us near, hear our confession of faith and forgive our sins. Wash us in the blood of Jesus that we may once again be righteous and worthy to enter the gates before You. We saw our need, and we came to the foot of the cross to seek Thy presence. In all the world, we know You are the One, the great I AM, that we want in our lives. Oh, once again walk with us Lord, be our mighty leader, be our buckler, sword, and shield. Thank You Lord, thank You.

The night is long, but each day dawns new. Today is a new day let us not waste it, let us now be vigilant and move forward. Let our light shine, let us be about Your business, and let us go forward with energy and resolve. You will win the final battle, but let us fight with You to the end. Keep us alert to remember that we rejoice when we answer to righteous authority, but groan under wicked rule. Let us continue to turn to You in prayer, praise, and adoration for You alone are worthy. We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen

All People That on Earth Do Dwell

1 All people that on earth do dwell,
sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;
him serve with mirth, his praise forth tell.
Come ye before him and rejoice.

2 Know that the Lord is God indeed;
without our aid he did us make;
we are his folk; he doth us feed,
and for his sheep he doth us take.

3 O enter then his gates with praise;
approach with joy his courts unto;
praise, laud, and bless his name always,
for it is seemly so to do.

4 For why? The Lord our God is good;
his mercy is forever sure;
his t***h at all times firmly stood,
and shall from age to age endure.

It breaks my heart every time I read stories like yours, and unfortunately there are a lot of them. I doubt that people know how many boys are molested because of the shame and doubts about ones own sexuality that are part of the male to male equation. You might want to go back to a thread I started months ago called "A serious question for Christians" It is about an abuse victim and it might be inspirational , The end product of that story was a wedding that happened a couple of months ago. A little on the wedding can be found in chit chat Prayer Family and the photos of the paintings are chit chat The Wedding. As I said, I do have a couple of books you might find helpful that I would be happy to mail to you as a gift if you want them.
My wife She Who Must Be Obeyed and I will keep you in our prayers.

Federal Court Says Secular Humanism is a Religion
November 4, 2014 by Michael Minkoff

It’s about time. The American Humanist Association thinks it has scored a win for Secular Humanism by having a federal judge declare that Secular Humanism is a religion. They may have won a battle, but they have made it more difficult for them to win the war.

“The court finds that Secular Humanism is a religion for Establishment Clause purposes,” the ruling read.

The decision highlights the unusual position of the Humanist community, which has tried for years to obtain the same legal rights as more traditional religious groups while simultaneously rebuking the existence of a god or gods. But while some Humanists may chafe at being called a “religion,” others feel that the larger pursuit of equal rights trumps legal classifications.

Think for a second about what this means. If Secular Humanism is a religion, that means it has the same rights as Christianity. The same rights to butt out of politics. The same rights to be removed from public schools. The same rights to withdraw itself from public policy. Is that really a win? I don’t think so. Thoughtful Christians have actually been claiming for years that Secular Humanism is actually a religion and not just a philosophy, and we’re happy they have finally secured the dubious privilege of that definition from the civil government.

It is not likely that Secular Humanism will be treated the same way Christianity has been, however. Darwinism, largely dependent on the religion of Secular Humanism, will likely still be taught in schools as “science.” And atheists will probably continue to fight for the removal of any trace of theism from the public scene, in spite of the fact that such a removal would now constitute a public establishment of religion. But that’s to be expected.

The important reality here is that it will be harder for proponents of Secular Humanism to claim they aren’t a religion. In other words, it will be very hard for them to say they have no faith. Christianity requires faith in God. Secular Humanism requires faith that there isn’t a God. Neither position is purely philosophical or scientific. Both positions are fundamentally religious. We’ve been saying this for years. I’m glad to see atheists have finally gone public with it.
