All this is true. The Statue of Liberty was a gift, but American Liberty was paid for with a high price of blood. I have never advocated mistreatment of anyone. Having said that, I'd like to add that the Israelites were also ordered to not allow sojourners to rule over them and IF they stayed in Israel, there was a ritual in which they were incorporated into society. AND THE ISRAELITES NEVER PAID THEM WELFARE. They worked, just like the Israelites. They were forbidden to bring their idolatry into Israel.
It was forbidden to have Gentiles in a genealogy. But of there are four women who are mentioned in the geneology of Christ and three were Gentiles! Remember the story about Ruth? She was a Moabite, but was honored to be married to Boaz. He first saw her gleaning in his field and she bowed to him and asked “Why have I found favor in your sight that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?” Boaz replied to her, “All that you have done for your mother-in-law after the death of your husband has been fully reported to me, and how you left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and came to a people that you did not previously know. May the LORD reward your work, and your wages be full from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge.” Then she said, “I have found favor in your sight, my lord, for you have comforted me and indeed have spoken kindly." Prior to that there was Rahab the Harlot and she and all her family believed on the God of Israel (and were saved) and she was also included in the Messianic geneology.
I can't remember the name of the third Gentile woman in the Messianic geneology and it's 2 am and I'm going back to bed after posting this so I'm not going to look it up for you.
My point is, the sojourners were not oppressed, BUT THEY WERE INCORPORATED INTO SOCIETY AND NOT ALLOWED TO BECOME CRIMINALS OR D**G SOCIETY DOWN. We (Unknowingly and knowingly) allow repeat criminal offenders in. BUILD THE WALL !! Even the ancient cites, including Jerusalem, had walls with gates and those entering were screened in as much as their limited technology allowed.
Lord bless you and good night.

Nothing needed to be stretched. He rear-ended my car at a stop sign. It was kind of funny that when I got out of my car and walked back to see the damage, he immediately (in Mexican Spanish) told me he didn't speak English to try to weasel out of talking to me. La problema with that is I speak fairly bueno Espanol. It was a slow-motion impact and my car only ended up with about $1300 worth of damage.
Regarding Trump, everything you said about him in New York I've heard before (and believe). He was not my first, second or fifth choice in the field of Republicans. I gagged when I actually v**ed for him, or more accurately, v**ed against Clinton. I know a lot of people who did the same.
The good news is he has kept his word to appoint strict Constitutional judges to the bench and is trying to get the wall built. Those are two BIG pluses for me. And he didn't cave in to Kim Jung Un; he walked away. So I actually do feel a little bit better about him than originally. For these reasons, I can cut a little mercy in his direction. Hope springs eternal. I have hope.

The "free meat" (or magnets) you are talking about for the people of Central and South America is freedom, an opportunity to escape severe oppression, poverty, starvation, and mortal threats to them and their families. They are not insects or varmints to be chased away, ignored, despised, or bullied. Yes, stop the illegal entries but give the bright allure of our great nation of liberty as what really attracts. We are..."the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden." The promise this nation holds for a better life in freedom is the magnet. And we are, please remember, a land of immigrants. The Statue of Liberty does not stand welcoming just tech nerds and the educated but as a welcome to these people: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore."

Compassion is one thing. Gullibility is quite another. Do you realize there are over 150,000,000 people who want to migrate to the United States. Don't you realize of the immigrants coming in illegally, (and never become part of the melting pot), it has been shown that 80% end up on welfare and that it becomes a generational problem?
The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France. The inscribed poem is neither law, nor is it part of the Constitution. It in no way obligates the USA to accept every person who wants in. That "Light of the World" you misquoted is about the inner light a Christian should have that draws non-Christians to the Gospel. It has no relationship to drawing immigrants to a nation. We are commanded in the Bible to obey the laws. I*****l i*******ts start their first moment in the USA by breaking the law.
Yes, people are drawn to nation where they can be free, but where is the compassion on the parent's part when they turn those children over to coyotes and sex-traffickers or force march them across huge expanses of deadly, snake and scorpion-ridden wastelands. Animals have to be mean to survive out there.
Bodies are found frequently in the Sonoran dessert, on both sides of the border. 'Nuff said.
Organize and turn your own nations into bastions of freedom!!!!

Saying that a person had no credentials--"ran into my car from behind, had no green card, no insurance and no driver's license" was not "even given a citation"--stretches believability. But maybe. There is a tendency from both parties to stretch the t***h for political ends.

You are right about Hillary (I did not v**e for her) but for me Trump was at least equally bad. I am from New York originally and he has always been considered by most of the people in this city of low character and probably mob-connected. And that was when he posed as a Democrat. His shoddy and shady and indecent known business practices made him anathema in New York society. The others of the 1% saw him as just a thug. The man is, simply, a disgrace to himself, the office, and our way of government.

Are you saying I lied? The story I told is true about being struck from behind by an i*****l i*******t. Fortunately, like most LEGAL Texas drivers, I carry no-fault insurance. The Round Rock policemen came to the site of the accident and took both our descriptions of the accident and there was no denying he ran into the back of my car (two witnesses were standing outside Bank America). If the cars had been reversed and I had run into him or any one else with no insurance, I would have been booked. It is a two-tiered system.

I hope both parties find better candidates for the next e******n. I'm sure you do, too, and we both can agree on that!

Raw Meat In A Forest

“It’s more complex than just slapping up a wall. We have got to take a look at all the complexities in terms of eliminating the incentives (“magnets”) for i*****l i*********n.” —Ron Johnson – Wisconsin U. S. Senator

Many years ago four of us went fishing in central British Columbia. We hiked back in with day-trip packs to a remote lake where a couple of rowboats had been stashed. With two in each rowboat we set out towards the middle of the lake to fish for a while before lunch. The fishing was good because not many people wanted to make the long hike into the lake. The lake hadn’t been fished for most of the season.

After catching quite a few fish, we headed back into camp to have lunch. The menu that day was baloney and other meat sandwiches, bananas, apples and of course the obligatory smooth Canadian whiskey. After downing our sandwiches and fruit, sipping the Whiskey and discussing the catch of the morning, one of the boats with two men headed back out into the lake to fish some more. The other two fishermen held back for awhile to clean up the camp and hang the packs on a few trees before they too headed out into the lake.

The first rowboat was well out into the middle of the lake when they heard yelling from the men in the second rowboat. But the men in the first rowboat couldn’t understand what they were yelling about. They were too far away. The second boat finally caught up with the first boat and the two guys in the second boat started gushing about a very large bear walking down the side of the lake towards our camp. There was still leftover food in our packs and we figured the packs would be torn to shreds by the time we rowed back to camp. We weren’t wrong.

It took about fifteen minutes to row back to the camp and by the time we got there the bear had torn the packs off the trees, ripped out the food and was devouring the contents. Safely floating out in the lake, we yelled at the bear to shoo. He came down to the edge of the water and started to wade in as if to challenge us. This was a BIG bear and not wishing an encounter with the bear in the water, both boats hastily rowed back into the middle of the lake. Fortunately, the bear didn’t follow.

After fishing well into the afternoon, we headed back to shore to assess the damage to our gear. Sure enough, the packs were lying on the ground and the contents were scattered all over. Most of the food had been eaten but thankfully the bear was gone, or so we hoped.

On reaching camp, we beached the rowboats and started putting our gear back together. We then headed down the four-mile trail, back to where our car was parked. Nevertheless, we were quite concerned that we could run into the bear again so we divided the fish up into two gunnysacks. We were not equipped with bear spray. The guy in front had one gunnysack of fish and the guy in the back had the other gunnysack. The instructions were that if the bear approached us from the front, we would throw the gunnysack full of fish at the bear and retreat in the opposite direction. If the bear approached us from the rear, the same would apply. Fortunately, we never saw the bear again and breathed a sigh of relief when we reached the car.

So what is the moral of this story? Don’t leave raw meat in a forest. It turns out that bears have a sense of smell that is estimated to be 2,100 times that of a human. They can smell meat or prey from miles away. But the other moral is, that if you put out raw meat in a forest all the predators, from wolves, raptors and insects will come for miles in search of a free meal.

The same is true of humans. If you put out “magnets” (meat) they will be attracted to the magnets and will come from thousands of miles away for a free meal, welfare recipients or i*****l a***ns. They will come by foot, or by car, bus, truck, or train. They can smell a “free meal” all the away from Costa Rica. They will take only what they can personally carry on their long journey to the promised land, hoping that they will be re-stocked when they reach their destination, the generous United States of America, where jobs, government “pig troughs” and unimaginable “riches” await them.

Now most campers and fishermen are fully aware of these facts and take precautions to not attract predators, or arm themselves with weapons to protect them from the predators.

Unfortunately, government takes no such precautions and Congressional Democrats seem inclined to purposely entice i*****l a***ns (magnets) to pour into America by the millions, now estimated at around 22 million. The American taxpayer is subsidizing most of those 22 million to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars a year. We could repair most of America’s infrastructure in a few years from what we are paying for i*****l a***ns.

Democrats want open borders. They won’t eliminate the magnets (meat) and they fight the Republicans to maintain them. They seem almost euphoric when a couple of thousand peasants from foreign lands illegally breach our borders every day in the hopes of benefiting from those magnets that legal Americans are forced to pay. Democrats don’t see these hapless foreigners as enemies, or as d**gs on our economy. They don’t care about the diseases the i*****l a***ns bring with them, diseases America eradicated decades ago. They don’t take into account the lost jobs and lower wages. They don’t see the hordes of uneducated aliens as a humanitarian or security crisis. They only see them as future v**es.

But like all things, decisions, policies and laws have consequences. You lay out raw meat in a forest and the predators and carrion eaters will come from miles around, for a free meal.

Take California for example. In a Real Clear Politics article the effects of i*****l i*********n are laid bare for all to see.

“The health, educational and legal costs associated with massive i*****l i*********n are squeezing the budget. About a third of the California budget goes to the state’s Medicare program, Medi-Cal. Half the state’s births are funded by Medi-Cal, and in nearly a third of those state-funded births, the mother is an undocumented immigrant.” (Each one of those babies born to an i*****l a***n mother become an American citizen and become just one more “magnet” to draw more i*****l a***ns to California.)

“California’s progressive government [Democrats] seems clueless on how to deal with these issues, given that solutions such as low-cost housing, strict enforcement of health codes, or [i*****l i*********n enforcement], are seen as either too expensive or politically incorrect.”

“In sum, California has no margin for error.”

“Spiraling entitlements, unwieldy pension costs, money wasted on high-speed rail, inadequate water storage and delivery, and lax immigration policies were formerly tolerable only because about 150,000 Californians paid huge but federally deductible state income taxes.” (Under the 2017 tax reduction act, now only $10,000 of state income taxes are deductible. In 2017 138,000 people moved out of California to states like Nevada, Arizona and Texas.)

“No more. Californians may have once derided the state’s 1 percent as selfish rich people. Now, they are praying that these heavily burdened taxpayers stay put and are willing to pay far more than what they had paid before.” (Why should they?)

The i*****l i*******t and homeless population drive much of California’s money woes. The best estimates suggest that in 2014, the year of the most recent data available, California was home to between 2.35 and 2.6 million undocumented immigrants. The homeless population is about 134,000 on any given night. Nearly a quarter of the nation’s undocumented immigrants reside in California, where they constitute more than 6% of the state’s population. Over twenty five percent (25%) of America’s prison population is made up of i*****l a***ns. California’s lack of immigration enforcement and the state sanctuary policy are the magnets (meat) that draw the illegal population to California. They also draw thousands of i*****l a***n criminals, like the one that shot and k**led Newman Police Officer Ronil Singh, a legal immigrant, or the one that k**led Kate Steinle, an innocent legal American bystander on a San Francisco pier.

But ladies and gentlemen, if you have been paying attention, you have heard all this before. There is nothing new here. It’s been going on for decades and it’s getting worse. The damage may be so bad by now that it is irreversible. America’ culture may be altered forever.

No one seems willing to stop the hordes of i*****l a***ns pouring into America. The politicians won’t stop it. They are too busy fighting among themselves for political power. The border patrol can’t stop it. There is just too much border to patrol. Walls would help but walls are not the total answer. The military could stop it by making an illegal border crossing extremely painful, if not deadly. The people could stop it, but they won’t. The people are all sitting on their hands waiting for the government to stop it. After all, it is the government’s job, isn’t it? Everyone is waiting for the other “guy” to stop it, but meanwhile no one is stopping it.

Now you won’t like what we are about to say. You will say it is barbaric and inhumane. However, if i*****l i*********n started spreading a disease throughout the population and it couldn’t be stopped, government would have no choice but to quarantine the sick, legal and illegal alike. Some i*****l a***ns would have to be sacrificed to protect the general population from the epidemic. Border patrol agents would be ordered to shoot to warn and then shoot to k**l all i*****l a***ns attempting to cross the border.

There are three other scenarios. What if the i*****l a***n population was infiltrated with terrorists, terrorists that k**l people? (True!) What if the i*****l a***n population was infiltrated with drug smugglers, drugs that k**l people? (True!) What if the i*****l a***n population was infiltrated with gangs, gangs that k**l people? (True!) How are these three scenarios any different than i*****l a***ns infecting legal Americans with an incurable disease? All of these scenarios k**l people. Each of them represents an existential threat to property, life and liberty and requires drastic measures to counter.

We’re s**k of people making this an emotional or a compassionate issue. It is a life or death issue. If there is no price to pay for i*****l a***ns to come to America, and there isn’t, massive i*****l i*********n will never stop until America becomes a third-world bankrupt country where America’s sovereignty and culture will be destroyed and run-away inflation will become the norm, not the exception. America cannot take in all of the world’s poor, or even a small fraction of them without destroying herself.

If the government won’t do it, then legal Americans will be forced to stop i*****l i*********n with two specific actions. First, on a massive scale, make all i*****l a***ns in America feel so uncomfortable to the point they will self-deport. Second, convince the government to employ drastic, if not lethal measures at the border. Eliminate the magnets.

If government won’t remove the magnets (raw meat in the forest) and stop the illegal entries, then it is up to the American people to do the job that government refuses to do, or suffer the irreversible consequences.

And that ladies and gentlemen, is just one side of the STATE OF THE UNION!

I lived in Texas for over 40 years and you are so right. Another issue with i******s is the two-tiered legal system. Many commit crimes and are just turned loose. Most drive without insurance, most without a driver's license and if they're in a wreck, Jose Garcia changes his name to Juan Hernandez. and just goes on his way. He gets off scott free. LEGAL Mexican immigrants don't like the crime they bring as they're the people mainly impacted as Spanish speaking people out Spanish speaking neighborhoods.

Given the choice between Trump and Clinton, he was by far the lesser of two evils. I'm quite aware of skeletons in his closet and sometimes he does prevaricate and exaggerate. He does have a history of non-marital relationships, abuse of some women and 6 bankruptcies. His dubious past is often rubbed in my face, by friends and the news. I do have an I.Q. slightly higher than a rock. I get it.
Still, given the choice between Ms. Clinton and president Trump, I would still choose to v**e for Trump. He is flawed, by he can't begin to compare with Ms. Clinton for being completely evil.
Also, he has been good for the economy and wants to secure the border. I can tell you a lot about i*****l i*******ts from my experiences of having worked at Bexar County Hospital for some years as a registered nurse and having been in a wreck with one (He ran into my car from behind, had no green card, no insurance and no driver's license). If I had rear-ended anyone with his non-credentials, I would have been jailed. He wasn't even given a citation. I guess this could be a topic for another discussion.
I do not worship Pres. Trump, but I'm very thankful he won the e******n and continue to support him through prayer, by talking to others who disagree and by not making any one else's life miserable via stupid verbal (or physical) assaults.
Those of you who hail the 'Resistance,' might take a step back and reassess where we'd be had Clinton won. Just sayin',

I absolutely believe it was by Divine Intervention that T***p w*n. The HS moved and shoved the Evangelical v**ers to the polls as they were getting off work. No matter how many v**es the Dems stole, them e*******l v**es got Trump elected. Thank God for a Constitutional Republic and NOT a Democracy.
Iff all the illegal v**es were discounted, he would have won by a larger margin. While Trump is flawed (we all are), he can't begin to compare with Ms. Clinton for pure evilness. I don't know of anyone who has suspiciously died for crossing him. The total Clinton count is well over 60 suspicious deaths.

It takes a lot of Faith and Courage to proselytize and they do it quite openly. And, yes, they have been badly beaten and threatened with death many times and have accepted that as the price they pay for the joy to see people set free from bondage. BTW, it IS illegal to be a Christian (or any other faith for that matter) in North Korea. You can be executed for owning a single page of Scripture there.
You can log into "Voice of the Martyrs" and see what's going on around the world. "The Religion of Peace" is another eye-opener.

My missionary friends are Pakistanis, who came to Christ in Pakistan and return there over half the year to teach and preach the Gospel, but study at an American seminary. I have never opposed anyone's freedom of religion, including a choice to believe in Islam. But under the First Amendment, in the USA, we all have freedom of religion, which includes sharing our faith with others and freedom of association. While I have mainly Christian friends, there are also friends who are Muslim and atheists and we do discuss many topics in depth and WITH CIVILITY. It can be done.

I agree wiith your post nearly 100%. The number is more likely in the multiple thousands As an unbeliever, when you first started reading the Bible, you didn't understand much of it. But you understood that you were a sinner and BELIEVED that Jesus died for your sin, just as Colson did. I never heard the Gospel as teenager, but had started on a quest to learn about God and came across Rev 3:20 which states "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me." My belief was an understanding that IF there is a God, He has to faithful to His word. As an unbeliever, it was my perogative to believe Him or reject Him. I chose to believe. It was life-changing experience as there was no one there to explain that the Holy Spirit actually comes inside your heart at the moment of belief. Life has been blessedly and strangely interesting since.

It is not possible for an unbeliever to understand the Bible . . . it's His letter to his people. It's kind of like a stranger reading some else's mail. You may get the gist of the message, but never the underlying depth of the message. There are many things that are only spiritual discerned by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Too many pearls are cast before swine. All they can do is root around in the mire and trample on them.
