Joy: can you tell us why it seems that only America has this obsession with Muslims? If their true goal was to convert or k**l all non-believers why don't we see more mass murders on their side of the pond? BTW - did a true Muslim tell you that or is that just what you think?

I can tell you that you are wrongto say that only America fears Islam. Every country that has had a major influx of Muslims are protesting their governments allowing that to happen, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, all of them.

Here's proof of what I say from News Now, but I doubt if you'll read it;

With the rife security issues experienced across Europe due to mass Muslim migration, a poll conducted across all 28 nations in the European Union (EU) revealed that 78 percent of EU citizens see the influx as a problem and desire tighter control of Europe’s external borders.

Most of the 1,000 respondents to the Századvég Foundation’s Project 28 survey conducted in February indicated that they fear the problems incurred by Europe’s i*****l i*********n for several of reasons.

“Residents of the EU continue to believe that migration has a significant impact: the majority (62 percent) of people believe that immigration increases crime and the threat of terrorism, while changing European culture and posing a huge burden on receiving countries,” Project 28 reported from its poll. “The perception of migration has also changed, with more and more people (now 54 percent) believing that the majority of migrants come to Europe for economic reasons and state benefits.”

More Europeans terrified of terrorism

More and more Europeans are fearing for their lives in the wake of the continent’s increasingly frequent Islamic terrorist attacks – and they are becoming wary that the problem is only getting worse.

“Overall, 82 percent of people think there is a chance that a terrorist attack similar to what happened in Paris, in Brussels or in Berlin could happen in their country, [and] most of Europe is dissatisfied with Brussels’s handling of the immigration crisis,” Project 28 researchers divulged. “[M]ore than two-thirds (68 percent) of survey participants are afraid [‘strongly fear’ or ‘moderately fear’] that African immigrants will arrive to Europe in masses in the next decade.”

There are no exceptions throughout Europe when it comes to worrying about the Islamic invasion that is being pushed on Europeans by the EU and the United Nations under the politically correct veil of alleviating “the Muslim refugee crisis” to help the immigrants supposedly evade oppression and persecution in their native lands throughout Africa and the Middle East.

“[M]ore citizens in every singleEuropean country say that [Muslim migration] is a ‘serious problem’ than say it is not a problem or not a very serious problem,” Breitbart News reported from the survey. “The rapid population growth of Muslims in Europe is another area of particular concern among Europeans … with 70 percent of the people believing that a growing Muslim presence is a problem and a mere 8 percent saying it is no threat at all.”

In fact, more than six out of 10 of Europeans believe that the surge of Muslim immigrants into their countries will escalate the threat of terrorism, while the same proportion (62 percent) also see the influx as an indicator that their crime rate will increase.

Personal safety is not the only issue raising the concerns of most Europeans, who are apprehensive that their homeland’s allure will continue to attract more immigration problems.

“A majority of citizens (57 percent) said that the influx of immigrants will change the culture of their countries,” Breitbart’s Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D, gleaned from the Project 28 survey. “The perception of migration has also changed, as a majority of Europeans are now convinced that most migrants are attracted to Europe by ‘pull factors’ such as the EU’s economy and social benefits.”

As a result, many Europeans fear that their finances, comfort of living and lifestyles will suffer.

“Handling immigration, on the other hand, is also perceived as imposing a major economic burden on EU member states, with 73 percent of those interviewed saying that managing immigration will pose a ‘huge financial burden’ on receiving countries” Williams added. “Only 17 percent believe that the cost of handling immigration will not be ‘huge.’”

Migration quotas under fire

Migrant quotas have been a hot topic of debate in Europe as Muslims terrorist attacks and community takeovers continue to spread across the continent.

“Across the continent since the 2015 surge, the EU has been attempting to make each member state pay for a decision which was unilaterally decided upon by the German government,” the American Spectator reported. “Whether every other member state should help ameliorate Angela Merkel’s mistake is a heated issue – and not only in eastern Europe. At the height of the 2015 crisis, the British government refused to accept any migrant quotas enforced from Berlin or Brussels.”

Germany is already feeling the repercussions of its own lax and accommodating migrant policies from the past few years.

“Research commissioned by the German government and published in January found that there had been a large increase in crime in Germany in recent years and that more than 90 percent of that crime could be attributed to young male migrants,” American Spectator’s Douglas Murray pointed out. “How strange it is that something should be a majority public opinion – and a provable opinion at that – and still remain politically unsayable.”

In lieu of rising the Islamic terrorism and crime threats across Europe, the popularity of migrant quotas is plummeting – with Germany wanting other countries to take more of the burden.

“The proportion of EU citizens who approve of an EU quota plan has fallen from 53 percent in 2016 to 47 percent this year, [s]o quotas are even more unpopular now than they were two years ago,” Murray continued. “Naturally, the idea of quotas is most popular in Germany – which has most to gain by dispersing its migrants around the rest of Europe – with 67 percent of respondents approving of quotas.”

Not in my own backyard …

With the migrant threat reaching their own communities, Europeans are now more wary of welcoming Muslim refugees into their own countries – but they would still like to help … while they remain abroad.

“Fully 81 percent of the European public agree that immigrants should be helped in their own countries, with almost half (48 percent) saying that the EU should provide ‘substantial financial support’ to the countries where they are currently residing – like Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey,” Murray noted from the results. “The public are also supportive of temporary migration, with two-thirds of Europeans agreeing that immigrants should be sent back to their home countries after the war in Syria ends.”

A very slim minority of Europeans now believe that a continued mass Muslim migration to their continent is a good idea.

“Just 14 percent of the European public believe that the EU should accept a million asylum seekers a year, and only 9 percent of the European public think that immigrants should be accepted without any limitations,” Murray pointed out.

Most Europeans have posterity in mind when seeking to reform the EU’s liberal immigration policy that has already substantially changed their own way of life – for the worse.

“Crucially, the public are aware of something about which their politicians have been blithe – which is that migration on the scale Europe has seen in recent years is not just a problem for this generation, but for succeeding ones,” Murray continued. “A frightening 50 percent of Europeans believe that their children will have a worse life than them.”

Citizens of nations that receive a higher influx of Muslim migrants than the rest of Europe are much more likely to be wary of refugees flooding their borders – especially with their future generations in mind.

“This view is noticeably higher in countries like Austria, Greece and Germany, which have been at the forefront of the migration crises,” Murray concluded. “Specifically, 70 percent of the European public believe that the ‘rapid population growth of Muslims’ is either a ‘somewhat serious’ or ‘very serious’ threat to Europe.”

Maximus: I am Christian, and I can tell you without a doubt that not all who claim to be Christians are. But since as a Christian, I understand that "God is the judge - not I" and that God holds the world in his hand, I choose not to pretend that I am in charge of the world. I am content at being the best individual example of God's love that I am able to be....Christ will set all things in order when He returns again.[/quote]

Good for you...I feel the same way. However, I don't believe that God ever intended for his children to sit back and wait on the return of Jesus while Christian heads are being loped off by the thousands. Luke 22:

35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the t***sgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Even though they chop off Christian heads, I don't judge them. I only stated that they actually DO the head cutting off business, and they do. I wonder how you deal with this passage? Mathew 18:

15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

If Jesus said it, then it must NOT be judgemental. What I said is factual, not judgemental. So, pray tell me how I am pretending that I am in charge of the world. Because I stated a fact?

Very manly of you to post a retraction. I understand how you feel, but we HAVE to put the constitution ahead of personal beliefs. We, by constitutional edicts, MUST allow any religion, any sex, any race, anybody to serve in government. We have to rely on the fact that people like Ilhan Omar, given time, will make their removal from office unavoidable.
Keep in mind that she is more of a radical.
Remember, also, when constitutional rights are denied, it will not be conservatives that do it.

You certainly have bought into every fox version of reality, in other words, lies.

Here's a headline from TV Viewer;

January 2018 Ratings: Fox News Is Cable News’ Most-Watched Network For 16 Years Straight

From the Zero Hedge;
A recent poll of cable news network viewers found that CNN’s regular audience is far more skeptical of the political news they receive than Fox News fans.

In the poll published Wednesday by Rasmussen Reports, 1,000 likely v**ers were asked to describe their media viewing habits. Seventy-five percent said they watch at least some form of cable news each week, with 42 percent saying they most frequently watch Fox News, 35 percent usually choosing CNN, and 19 percent favoring MSNBC.

An even 50 percent of frequent Fox News viewers agreed with a followup question, “Do you trust the political news you are getting?” By comparison, 43 percent of frequent MSNBC viewers and just 33 percent of those who mostly watch CNN said they trust their political news.

According to a November survey by Rasmussen, 37 percent of v**ers still say they get most of their news from cable news networks. V**ers in general were highly critical of the e******n coverage, with the strongest criticism coming from the 7 percent of those polled who said they mostly get their news from social media, rather than TV.

While once considered a pioneer of 24-hour TV journalism, CNN has faced criticism and accusations of bias over its political news coverage. During the 2016 e******n cycle, some viewers and analysts claimed CNN focused too much attention on the candidacy of Donald Trump, even to the point that it negatively impacted other candidates. Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, worked at CNN for months as an on-air personality while maintaining notably close ties to the candidate.

In April, Bernie Sanders supporters protested outside of CNN’s offices in Hollywood, claiming the network’s reporters ignored their candidate. In October, CNN cut ties with frequent contributor-turned-interim Democratic National Committee Chair Donna Brazile after WikiLeaks’ archive of Hillary Clinton’s emails revealed Brazile gave Clinton advance notice of debate questions.

Since the e******n, CNN has been quick to embrace President-elect Trump. On Dec. 2, CNN reporter Cristina Alesci praised Trump’s advisory board of wealthy CEOs, calling it a “historic” gathering. She continued:

“I don’t think that I’ve ever seen anything quite like this before. … Like I said before, this list really represents a bipartisan group of people, so he’ll have some very diverse viewpoints to tap into.”

The president-elect has surrounded himself with a cadre of wealthy advisors and Cabinet members, prompting many critics to question just how much diversity they’ll actually bring to the table. “The very definition of corporate media diversity: the entire spectrum of opinion, from GE to GM,” quipped Steve Rendall, a reporter for the media analysis organization Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, on Dec. 2.

In September, FAIR also accused CNN of spreading a false claim about Black L***s M****r protests being stoked by “outside agitators” in Charlotte, North Carolina, which quickly went v***l among conservatives.

From their close ties to politicians to the apparent agendas pushed by paid pundits, viewers are wise to question the political news they receive from any major TV news network.

Aren't you somewhat embarrassed to support the lowest rated news agencies that a majority of American's find unacceptable?

There is no “war” on Christianity. There is, however, a war against Christians who try to impose their religion on others.

Dr. James Emery White wrote on crosswalk.com and asked "Are Christians in America under attack?" He mentions how the United States is becoming a secular country, and he is right. Not only is the United States very secular but also it is anti-Christian. He rightfully declares, however, that Christians in America are not persecuted nearly to the degree that they are in such places as "Nigeria, Iran, Pakistan, Egypt or Syria." He is right, we aren't; but it is increasing. Mr. White mentions the growing pressure to marginalize Christianity and ultimately dominate it by using law to suppress religious freedom. He cites the following:

Catholic Charities in Illinois shut down its adoption services rather than place children with same-sex couples (as the state required).
A Christian counselor was penalized for refusing to advise gay couples.
A court clerk in New York was told to issue same-sex marriage licenses despite religious reservations.
A wedding photographer was sued for refusing to shoot a same-sex wedding.

In each of the cases listed above, the Christians were not trying to impose their values on anyone else. Instead, the secularists were doing the imposing and using anti-discrimination laws to do it.

Good work, Dr. White. You're right on.

And this from The Washington Times;
Violence against Christians — like the bomb attacks that k**led at least 311 people in Catholic churches and hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday — has been escalating steadily over the past few years, international observers say.

In just the past few weeks, stark reminders of the danger Christians face around the world abound: an underground priest is d**gged from his pickup truck in Xuanhua Diocese in China, a Christian couple in India are beaten by a father accusing them of trying to convert his son, 17 Christians are k**led during a child dedication service in Nigeria.

Open Doors USA, a mission for persecuted Christians, estimates that violent attacks on the faithful doubled from 2017 to 2018, with approximately 11 Christians dying every day for their faith.

“There’s a specific pattern of violence around Christian holy days, such as Easter and Christmas,” said Sarah Cunningham, senior director of communications for Open Doors USA.

Nearly 50 worshippers were k**led on Palm Sunday 2017 by bombers who targeted Coptic Christians in Cairo. That same year, at Bethel Memorial Methodist Church in Quetta, Pakistan, nine Christians were k**led a week before Christmas by suicide bombers linked to the Islamic State.

Name ONE time a Christian tried to "impose" Christ on anybody. But did the gay community impose their lifestyle on Christians?...Why, yes they did.

Willful ignorance of a situation doesn't make it go away.

There are some points you left out or glossed over. What percentage of job growth under Obama was due to people working two part time low wage jobs instead of the single good paying job they lost in the crash? And remember that under the Obama administration there was plenty of jobs being subsidized. Government subsidized jobs are a net loss on the overall country's financial situation. You can call it job growth--but it is really redistribution of income. The jobs growth under Trump is NOT due to job subsidies!!!! They are real full time jobs in the private sector.

Now as to the GDP. Yes there were some quarters where the GDP was very high under Obama. Others where under 1%. I believe it was never high two quarters in a row. On average it was between 1% to 2%. Under Trump it isn't making such huge fluctuations. Instead the GDP has risen at a fairly steady rate and when falling, it only fell slightly. The average is between 4% to 4.2%.

I bracket raced this car regularly for about 10 yrs (both locally and in the IHRA division 4 Top D**gster series), and still have it, but b/c of some family obligations I've been unable to dev**e any time to it for 5-6 yrs, due to a move and then my wife getting very sick a couple of years ago. Anyway, this car ran 7.50's-7.70's @ around 180 mph-depending on the track and air-and it was one of the most consistent cars at our track here in San Antonio. I have decided it's time to get back out there, and the car is basically ready to go, but I'm currently kicking around stepping up quite a bit to NHRA's Top D**gster class, which I think is going to require a different car. This class is not an 'all run' (so long as you run a 7.90 ET or quicker) like the IHRA's T/D class I used to participate in was, b/c after 2 qualifying attempts it only allows the fastest 32 cars (that entered) to race in eliminations. In this NHRA series there's one main requirement-you cannot dial or predict the ET your car will run in eliminations any faster than 6.1 secs (in the 220 to 230 mph range). I recently traveled to one of these races to help a racer friend of mine and 50 cars showed up for this class-the bump (the ET of the #32 qualifier) was 6.32-and everyone else trying to qualify were done for the weekend. Using this format makes for an incredibly 'tight' field-the 32 fastest cars all ran between a 6.10 and 6.33 ET-meaning only a little over 2 tenths of a sec separates all those who qualified. This is definitely 'hauling ass' in my book, but it will require probably an additional 1500 horsepower to get there (over the approx 1000 I currently have), and I think it might be too much for this car, so I am currently looking for a 'deal' on one that will be a better fit for this class.

Your Comet looks nice... Here's a pic of another one of my previous toys (which I drove for 11-12 yrs everyday) during the late 70's and 80's... It was a 72 Vega with a 350 V8, a M22 'rock crusher' t***s, and a narrowed 9" Ford rearend-it was a blast and ran pretty good.

Yes, Christianity is under attack for sure. You can worship Satan, Allah, Hoo Haw, or no one, but just mention that your a Christian and you'll get pounded from all sides and promptly told that the founding fathers wrote the 1st amendment to protect everyone from Christianity.
Actually the 1st amendment says that there shall be no state religion ( and this had happened in a few states) recognized, nor shall the free practice of your chosen religion be infringed. This simple statement has been twisted so out of proportion that it's almost unrecognizable today. I know that you are Catholic and you have the God given right to practice that religion, whereas I go to a Baptist church, but I claim no denomination, just that I am saved through the blood of Jesus, and I have the God given right to practice that. A Seventh Day Adventist has the God given right to pursue their chosen religion.
As for the Chinese being the first, I read about that a few months ago, and there seemed to be ample proof but had not been accepted at the time. I can't find the exact story but this is pretty much it;
