Welcome Jack...

Look for ward to your posts and enjoy..

How will the government confiscating more of my hard earned money change the weather?

Hi archie,

The premise behind a carbon tax is that the tax, if applied per the desired process, would raise the price of the carbon fuel, with the tax proceeds being returned to the customer based on how much they purchased.
The added cost to the fuel business would not be recovered by the business. making the business less profitable and bringing alternative s more quickly to market.

Many of these proposals were bandied about so we would have to carefully read any particular plan to find if it was workable or not.. the word of "tax" in all these planes pretty much put an end to these efforts and I have not read of any proposed for a very long time..

I do not think we will ever see a Carbon Tax, it seems an idea which has run the course and has no chance of being enacted..

Weather.... After all the rain/snow we are now in to a Jan thaw with the coldest week of winter just past, we can anticipate warmth of spring any day LOL.. So the snow remains feet deep but the temp reaching the 30s for near 2 weeks, about 10 days to go.. if the weather man is right..

Have a nice day and keep posting..

Upon inspection of the Star Tribune, I found it to be heavy on the liberal side. They DO report the story, but then throw in the liberal slant at the end of the articles.
In this article, reasons are listed for both sides, but at the end of the article, opinion worms it's way in.
Myself, I've never heard of Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente. Then I have to wonder why ANY republican would choose to challenge Trump. Sounds like a RINO to me. Yep, just a little researching found most of reps who will challenge Trump are just hoping to pull v**es away from him. One (Walsh)wants to bring attention to the national debt, but if he pulls enough v**es away from Trump, then a dem will be in thw WH, and the debt will soon double again or even triple.
Now, here's the simple answer............republicans are learning how to play like democrats have done all along.

Woops! I'm not a never Trumper, I'm an only Trumper.
Upon inspection of the Star Tribune, I found it to... (show quote)

Max...

While the Trib has been liberal, it is now owned by Glen Taylor, also owner of the Timberwolves and a bunch of other businesses..

Glen is very strong Conservative.. the paper has changed a bit, the OP-ED now has longer articles and from both sides as it always has, from the time I delved the paper in high school.

Taylor once paid 10 grand to have his picture with Sara Palin and Micheal Bachmann...

He is indeed one of those Billionaire conservatives..

Now that McMillian has moved to Florida, Glen Taylor is the richest man in Minnesota..

And again, this was not to be about trump, but rather the blocking of any meaningful v**e by Republican to choose a Candidate of choice, whether it be trump or anyone else..

Glad you read the whole article, I found it interesting and also puzzling that the court found it legal by the written law..

Well this post missed the mark...

I posted this not as against trump. Plenty of that for me to continue all day..

It is only about procedure, only a single name on the b****t, why bother to v**e?

While I have to think the same rules apply to the Dems, I did not check out that rule..

And, this is about the primary e******n.. in Minnesota, last I checked to v**e in the primary you can only do so if you are a registered GOP/Dem.. no cross v****g..

Nothing to do with the general e******n or any political fight with Dems.. only Republican Vs republican.

Now that it was mentioned, are the trump people so insecure they must repress v****g even in their own party, to protect the orange sanction they place over our nation?

So, stop worrying about your cult leader and think of the procedure being used. To protect a failing president??

A favorite picture, makes me hopeful for the future..

I did not pay much attention to this for some time.. but now I have to be puzzeled..

The Minnesota republican party passed a rule that only trumps name can be on the primary b****t in Minnesota. no other names..

Now this is not so puzzling, run of the mill tactic by strong arm wanna be dictators..

But this is hard to swallow.. the Minnesota supreme court upheld the tactic and declined the suits to allow other names on the b****t of those running..

So what do any of you think of this result. the rights of any republican who wishes and gets the support and follows the requirement should be on the b****t. regardless of your personal support, this seems to me to be a real violation of e******n rules/ideals..

Minnesota Supreme Court rejects challenge to state GOP's Trump-only primary b****t
The quick ruling came in a case that threatened to disrupt the start of early primary v****g next week.

The law had been challenged by James Martin, a Minnesota v**er from Lake Elmo, and De La Fuente, a California businessman and long-shot candidate seeking the 2020 Republican nomination for president.

“We’re challenging basically a process that’s made a mockery of democracy,” said Minneapolis attorney Erick Kaardal, representing Martin and De La Fuente. “It’s very sad that we’re going to spend $12 million [in] March on the p**********l primary and they’re going to have only one candidate on the GOP primary b****t.”

That is only for those who v**e Democrat. All Republicans are exempt.

" With all the whining about losing your guns, which is never going to happen. "

There are a lot of good people with Australian accents on the other side of the world, who beg to differ.

" TAX... Who is speaking about tax.. carbon tax was a solution proposed some years ago and still has merit. but no one has proposed such a tax for decade or more.. "

When you're right, you're right. Until my boy Donald leaves DC there ain't gonna be no stinking Carbon Tax. Now after 2024, when Donald retires, you had better begin breathing into paper bags, cause all of your emissions will be measured and taxed.

Think for a moment on the consequence of a nation not paying its debts.. we would be in a depression as we have never experienced.. even our defense treaties would be gone..

And while a carbon tax would likely be the most efficient way to accomplish results in controlling CC, no one at the moment is proposing any form of carbon tax.. nor explanation of how it would work..

As for a tax on guns.. only referenced because a fellow coffee drinker mentioned the possibility as a last horrible political attempt , that no one could consider..

Relax, don't worry.. be happy.. thing will mellow out..
