Good points with the exception of knowing the language of the young. I think that all parents and grandparents must learn the language. How else will you know if your loved one is heading off into the wrong direction. We need not use their language in conversations, but a good understanding could help if your loved one needs gentle guidance. ;) ;-)

Use of spell check also helps. You can turn it on under tools from the main menu. If anyone needs help in any computer related issues, send me a PM and I will do my best to help. I am or was a computer engineer....and have taught computer sk**ls.

MERRY CHIRSTMAS TO YOU ALSO!!!

The word "too" means "also".

One posting used "thr". I am not sure if they meant "their, there, or they're".

I wish that many would quit using teenage language, text language, abbreviations, and initials. I personally think that we are all past sixth grade now. One should also try to use complete sentences as well. Someone else reading the post can misunderstand what is actually be said.

I, also, appreciate the instructions provided here as I do not understand how to do the smiley faces, etc. Our younger generation seems to be able to pick up this computer stuff easier than others.

Is your point that you do not care who gets the money as long as they do not tack it from your pocket? Big money exists because they know how to get other peoples money...

No, I do care. Those who elect not to work should get NOTHING! Those who are working poor should receive help while they improve their circumstances. But, help should start at home for American Citizens. Not i******s who break the law in entering this country. I do believe that I pay enough in taxes and give enough to charity, give enough to funds (educational, welfare within my community) as it is. Fix the broken parts of the laws; that is eliminating funds given to noncitizens, to the healthy who choose not to work, eliminate expensive voucher programs........there are a billion ways to bring finances back into alignment that will benefit the working poor, retired individuals, and be fair to those who have earned their bank accounts.

Ginny: Confused about being a confused C*******t/Marxist. When you start taxing people at extreme rates to pay for socialist "benefits," when you start telling them which schools their children must attend, when you start giving jobs away to people based on race instead of ability… you quash human freedom, which bogs down productivity and if continued for long enough leads to social collapse.

I am so far from being a c*******t or Marxist that I can barely spell the words. The more the liberals take away, the more conservative I become, and not just in political thought, but with what I am willing to give up to those ingrates!

I do not tell anyone where to send their children to school, it seems to me that they tell me how much money I need to give them so their "vouchers" will be larger. In this way they can drive or have the child driven 50 miles a day to attend classes in neighborhoods where the schools have to lower expectations so those kids can graduate. It seems to me that I give $50 K each year to a college fund, and I don't even get a thank you. I get a letter each year asking if I will be sending a check or stopping by with my check. And I get the government telling people who don't work that wealth distribution is a solution.

The laws of the US are unfair when it comes to employment. Certainly in the 1960s some of the equal opportunity laws had good intentions, but now they are played like a poker hand. Good solid high performing workers must be passed over for promotion and hiring so a quota can be filled.

Confused appears to not understand anything other than one household makes XXX dollars and somehow that household should give 80 to 100 percent of that money away! While unemployment runs ramped because playing Xbox is more fun that earning a living.

Sorry for the rant. I am just a wee bit miffed with the entire wealth distribution thing.

It appears to me that desert areas are such because they don't have water to irrigate with whether it be ground water or surface stored water. There are many parts of the world that have always been dry but have become productive because of irrigation. I live on the edge of one of them, western Kansas, where flood irrigation was used but has given over to sprinkling. There are rules about how much water can be used there because the source of ground water seems to be wearing out. Where I live rain has always been very sparse so irrigation has become more important. Corn and maize are the main irrigation crops but the lessening of water used has led to irrigation of cotton and soy beans since they don't take so much water.

What I am saying is that when people work at it they can clean things up a lot but few of the green bent want to admit that.

I guess I could get frustrated with you and say angry bitter things about your inability to comprehend, but that will accomplish nothing.

Thank you for the Christmas wish.

You are really confused! There is a far cry from companies and people with or without money! When you complain about rich people not being fair, what you are really saying is there are some companies that overcharge for their services, some companies that slip earning through loopholes. Do not confuse flesh and blood for a building and a corporate logo!

Your president is not talking about business or companies when he speaks of redistribution of wealth. He is talking about taking money out of the pockets of the already over taxed people that already pay the lion's share of taxes in the US. If he even thought about taxing companies any more, they would simply move their business to more progressive and friendly countries. No, your Obama wants to stick another tax on top of the current tax for PEOPLE so instead of paying 38 percent it would go to more like 45 percent.

The new " deal " cuts SNAP benefits to a hungry kid who has no choice and leaves in place loopholes to Exxon & GE of billions a year . Send me your account info as long as it isn't an overseas tax dodging scheme used by the rich . The top tax rate for Simpson / Bowles is 24 % if interested it is a 78 page document that replaces the entire IRS code . Under $ 70,000 is 7 % . $ 70,000 to $ 210,000 is 14 % . Above that and all corporate income is 24 % . NO EXEMPTIONS , NO LOOPHOLES . No more Exxon paying 0 % and you paying 38 % . A dollar is a dollar . The IRS should be a bookkeeping entity , not a political hit squad or s**m to enrich the rich . The wealthy have taken control of the congress, now and this group has vowed never to raise taxes. They have demeaned the poor and condemned social programs and the government itself, in an effort to justify this inequity. Their sophisticated propaganda and "news" programs have convinced many people to believe these falsehoods. How sad!

Again .....??? Really???? I am not hording anything and neither are the others that have sufficient funds. We hire people, we build plants, we sponsor education, we donate time and money, we purchase things, WE PAY TAXES on everything...... and more! So, how much more of my income do you want to steal from me? You seem to think that the wealthy are responsible for people that are "poor." I can not speak for others, but I was not consulted when they made bad decisions. I was not consulted when they just had to have a new television when the old one still worked fine. I was not consulted when they decided to have more children than they could afford to support. I AM NOT RESPONNSIBLE! Do you think that people like myself should just liquidate our assets and hand it out to the poor? Then who's pocket are your going to pick? Do you think that we should give away what we worked for to people that can not even balance their check books? Sorry, but people who post how unfair their lives are, have never considered how unfair it is to be robbed everyday!

It is amazing how creative the shills hired by the mega bucks guys get.. when they try to justify the greedy hoarding of the assets by this elite few at the top. With almost 1/2 of Americans living in poverty, how long will people stand for it?
They like to blame social programs for the shortfall of income for the USA, but just reading the Yahoo report on pentagon waste will open a few eyes. The pentagon has spent $ 8.7 Trillion in "Unaccounted for ...black project" funds since 1996. (almost 1/2 of the total debt) this does NOT include their regular budget, just the part they can't account for.. They have us distracted by harping about the chump change that social programs cost. Thank you for another history lesson. Your information is informative. But, can we really delete the generals? Is history at the whims of those who do not like a portion; can we discard the facts that we do not like? When does history become misrepresentation of facts; when people decide or delete a significant portion?

My hats off to you and others who have added insight into the Civil War; but my question remains. Do we rewrite history to eliminate the parts that are considered unflattering, or perhaps too flattering of the great generals of the Confederate and retain only the information referencing s***ery and how horrible southern people treated s***es? Or do we show both sides, that of the South and the North's perspective??

Hello Confused,

I have just one question for you; I pay 38 percent of my income into taxes. What percentage do you pay? 11 Percent? The bottom tier pay around 2 percent. I know that on average I pay somewhat more, but it is because I am a widow, no children in the home that I support, no mortgage payment.....and so on. I have never complained until now. It seems that I spent my lifetime making smart investments, going to work, and saving my money while others (and I am not saying you or pointing a finger) eat most of their meals from fast food, buy houses that they can not afford and then allow them to go into foreclosure, by a new car every two years that they can not afford to maintain. And then the government steps in and spends how much of my money on bailing out banks? Bailing out a failing housing market? Bailing out entire cities? All because I made good decisions. Somehow the government and the Liberals want people like myself to feel somehow obligated to pay people to have more children than they can either afford or willing to raise? We are supposed to feel good about paying people to sit at home all day and go shopping on our dime. And now the government wants to take what I worked for because I did the right thing, and they want to spread my wealth. And you think this is fair? I also have to tell you, the government gives me nothing! You make the statement that in one year you give away more money to the rich! Well, if that is so I will send you the information so you can make a direct deposit into my accounts! I will even send you a thank you note; which is a lot more than I receive from those that my taxes are supporting. What I get from those I support with my taxes is a demand for more!!!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Your post is completely dishonest and shows you know nothing about income taxes . If you want to end the " welfare state " then close ALL tax loopholes that are currently $ 2.8 trillion a year and lower the rates for everyone . 1 in 4 of the top fortune 400 companies pays NO income tax .
