In defense of Lpnmajor, there have been many times he has provided us with "a joyful noise" and stress relief. In this instance, I do not find "joyful".

I have not been around, so I have not seen those posts. So, this is good to know. I will hold my critical tongue!

Perhaps he failed to take to heart Psalms 19:14. :!:

AuntiE, there will always be people that want to be comedians that just don't make the grade. Those people spend the rest of their lives believing they are hilarious and they wonder why they are the only people laughing. I have been to social gatherings where the moment I walked in could tell which one fit the category, no one was talking with them!

Really? have you ever actually read the Bible? It's chock full of jokes, as well as sex, murder, adultery and other chicanery. I have the greatest respect for God, without any mysticism. He's as real and personal to me as you are. I really couldn't care too much for peoples sensibilities either. If they're THAT sensitive, this forum is no place for them. Humor is where it is, not where you think it should be put.

Actually, I assisted my father, a Rabbi, in t***slation of the book you call the Bible. So, yes I have read it in several languages.

I do not recall either reprimanding or admonishing you for your humor and do not recall that I recommended any place that it may be put.

Again, I congratulate you on your relationship with your God and I do hope that it continues. I still think that your thread was in bad taste and a few people will take exception to your attempt of humor.

I will check in on your thread! Kind Knight, I know that you have a bushel of precious apples of your eye! It was a slip..... no harm or slight intended.

The team struggled at first, but finished strongly! Lauren pitched one game and won, 7-2. She is doing well, but her and the team have been erratic. They are young, but will win a lot of games this year. FYI, I have a "Opening Day" thread, on which I post game summaries, scores, and updates on the team.

Lauren is one of many 'apples' of my eyes. Her sisters demand and get as much attention, of course. The Sgt. Major remains her incredibly patient self with all of us children...me being in my second childhood! I will indeed extend your greetings to her.

It is a relief that you have such communications with God and you have permission. For me, I will speak of God and to God with deep respect and reverence; but that is just me and my upbringing. If you and your God are comfortable with your bastardization of God's name...., that is between the two of you. However, there are some folk that could and will take exception to humor of this nature. In many social circles, this is as taboo as the old baby jokes.

Now you should know that God gave me permission for this. He told me he created humor and if I didn't use it, I was dishonoring him. He said " you can call me wh**ever you want, it don't change nuthin. I am still who I am. BTW, I would NEVER use Thad in one of my names"
Well, I had to ask forgiveness for the Thad business, but he thought the rest were funny. If you don't think God has a sense of humor, then explain why he let men think they can make up their own minds? :P

All parents have doubts.

I have to cogitate on another possible, better solution.

Any and all suggestions will be happily received. They will be changing into the Spring/Summer uniform in April. Duckie has a countdown calendar plastered on the back of her door! I remember wearing those uniforms and my skin was always itching and red. But, there are few materials better to keep one warm in the winter. I do say she looks adorable in the uniform now that her hair is not purple and green!

I left my safehaven last Wednesday AM to enter the den of my granddaughters abode in Austin. Their Mom, Dad, and I joined them in watching Lauren, the oldest, play in The University of Texas Invitational Softball Tournament over the 5 days I spent there. I arrived back last evening.

I didn't rejoin the OPP until this morning. 8-)

SO, how did she do? Steal the show???? I do hope you had a wonderful time, we all know that she is the Apple of your eye.... How is the Sgt Major? Please send her my greetings!

So true. My children and grandchildren remind me almost on schedule how out of touch I am with today's world. I just thank them for noticing.

You are to be much admired for your efforts.

My nieces told me for years that I was a "little" old fashioned. Now I know that they were being kind, I am so out of date, that I think I may have expired!

Thank you for the reassurance. I doubted myself several times, but in the end I think, no I pray I did the right thing.

BTW, our girls sends a smile and a hug and to tell you that her uniform does not itch as much. Really, I had not thought of that solution. And, better still, it worked!

It is unfortunate we could not obtain a Williamsburg toile for you. I have asked her, as my new procurement officer ( no GSA rules apply...ha..ha..ha) to find you such. :-)

Lily did a wonderful job. After h*****g my head, wondering if I did the right thing, bouncing off the walls, and then a long talk, and an extra long run this morning........... I do not know what I would have done without the lovely walls to bounce on!

Hello sweet Prince. I am in and out, mostly out. Being a new mother is hard work! I think I have forgotten too much and of course the world has moved on, so now there are new things, terms, and such to learn!
